"Okay team. This match could be the best match of our lives at Hogwarts. Remember all the drills and training we did at practice? That was especially for this game. Remember what Ginny said earlier. We know the Lions from the inside out, just stick to the plan and we will win this thing." Draco said to his team in the Slytherin changing rooms.
The team nodded and cheered, running out onto the pitch.
The stands were stuffed with excited children, half wearing green, the other red. The Griffindors were already up in the air as the Slytherins kicked off.
The ex-griffindor zoomed around the stadium with her new team. She found working with them was much more easier than the Griffindors- her old team was very noisy and somewhat unfocused in practice. Harry tried to control the boisterous bunch, but it was little use; Ginny, being the vice-captain, had the job of keeping them in line. She had no idea how Harry was coping without her.
She looked at the other group in the air. They had serious faces as they flew in the shape of a v. The formation wasn't perfect- the beaters would occasionally edge further away from the line, but they looked fairly put together. Ginny was excited to compete.
They got into their positions and the quaffle was released. Blaise snatched it out of Deans fingers and swerved around him, launching it to Ginny, who dodged the Lions with ease, before hammering the quaffle into the middle hoop.
The whole green side erupted into applause, while the reds booed and moaned.
Ron gave Ginny an annoyed look, but congratulated his sister through gritted teeth.
The game continued in that way, Ginny scored six more goals, Blaise and Theo scoring four, while Griffindor only scoring 100. The Slytherins were in the lead by 50 points and the crowd was impatient for the snitch to be caught.
"Harry! You have to catch the snitch!" Screamed Hermione from the stands.
"What do you think I'm trying to do, 'Mione?" He snapped, flying away from her.
After a while, Draco saw something gold fluttering in the air besides Ron's head. He immediately sprinted off, Harry hot on his heels. They zigzagged between the players, and turned sharply as the snitch zipped off to the right. It looped all round the stadium, skimming the blades of fresh cut grass and sawing through the clouds.
Returning to the pitch, Draco's fingertips were so close he could feel the wind from its wieldy wings. Harry's hand was a hand behind his, though further away, Draco knew he had to act now- or the Griffindors could win. With a final push, he forced his broom to speed faster, as his fingers encased the gold ball.
The green crowd erupted- the Slytherins had finally beaten Griffindor!
A head of red hair found itself in his flight path, and before Draco could stop his hot speed, he collided with it.
Pain shot through his side as both bodies plummeted down to the ground, the spiralling bodies trying to do anything to break their fall.
Draco reached out his gloved hand and managed to grasp her broom. As he pulled the broom under him, he extended his other to wrap around the red head. Loosing the snitch, he secured her in his arms, while she clung onto him for dear life. The gold ball looked over the blondes shoulder, up and alert once more.
He yanked the broom up, fanning the grass as they hovered along the ground.
Coming to a stop, Draco realised Ginnys chest stuck to his, as her arms and legs caged his torso. her head tucked into his neck. Peering her head up from his chest, her tightly shut eyes cracked open, realising they were both unharmed.
