After a days worth of thinking, Ginny made her way to Draco, Pansy, Blaise and Theo, who sat at the end of the table, eating lunch.
"Um... hi." She said, grabbing their attention.
"Hi!" Exclaimed Pansy, smiling brightly.
"Uh, I just thought I should tell you- eh I think I should quit quidditch." She muttered.
"What?! Why?!" Exclaimed Blaise. "If it's cause we can't be friends-"
"We can't!" She plonked herself on the bench, next to Theo.
"I love you guys and by getting even more closer to you- when I go... I can't stand the thought of not being friends, but you guys will be just as upset as I when I move back. I've already got too close, so please, just stay away from me! I'm a blood traitor, remember? I'm the Weaslett, an embarrassment to pure blood society. We couldn't be friends." With that she stormed out the hall.
She couldn't believe she ruined her chance to be a professional quidditch player, but she couldn't play this game. She was not a Slytherin and had to face reality. The ravenclaw girls were right.
Turning the corner, she spotted her old friend, Luna Lovegood sitting on a stone bench reading a book, which when Ginny examines more closely, was upside down.
"Luna!" She called, running up to her.
"Hi, Ginny." She said, closing her book and sitting it on her lap. "I've not seen you in a while."
"Yeah, sorry about that." Ginny answered, ashamed.
"Needing worries. The Slytherins has stopped picking on me, I think I must thank you for that."
"Yeah..." Ginny didn't know how to respond. She usually had lively conversations with Luna, but Ginny just felt awkward.
"It's the waksprouts." Luna said, looking above Ginny's head, "you seemed to be getting more over the last few days. Is something bothering you?" She asked.
"Well... I don't know what I should do." She sighed, sitting next to her.
"Oh, about what?"
"Well, since I moved to Slytherin, I've made some good friends-"
"Oh yes! Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zambini, Pansy Parkinson and Theodore Knott. Your auroror seems to glow when you are with them- especially Draco." Luna said, light heartedly.
"Oh... well yeah. But now I can't be friends with them." She said, gloomily.
"Why? You seem much happier with them than any Griffindor." Luna noted.
"My family will kill me! And when I get moved back-"
"If."
"We will hate each other again, and I can't stand the thought. Even being friends with them is wrong- traitorous. If I stay away then I will stop them from getting hurt." Ginny spilled out.
"Dumbledore hadn't said when you would move back." Luna commented, "maybe you will stay there forever. Stop forcing this sadness- it's unneeded. You like them yes?" Ginny nodded, "and they like you?"
"I guess."
"Then enjoy what you have. If your friends from the other houses won't deal with it- then they aren't really your friends, are they?" Luna stated, making Ginny think.
"Oh shit." She mumbled, "I quit the team to."
"But you wanted to be-"
"A professional quidditch player, yes, I know."
