"I remember it like it was yesterday," I began. "I was about three years old when I found out I had a quirk. My father was excited while my mother was not..."
"She's going to be a hero, dear," my father said.
"I did not want her to become one of those ruffians. Especially if she takes after you!" my mother yelled.
"I'm sorry my quirk had to deal with some nature of destruction. Just be glad she fully inherited your quirk!"
"I wish she hadn't! I wish she didn't have a quirk so we could have a normal child."
"Are you saying she isn't normal?"
My mother didn't answer that question. Which hurt. Even though I was three, I was able to comprehend the entire situation. After I had discovered my quirk, my father did the best he could to train me and get used to it. Even though he didn't understand my quirk, he did his best. While we were training, he found out that I had inherited a little bit of his quirk. He could create weapons out of matter. Either from his skin, the ground, trees, or sides of buildings. As long as he had something in his hands, he could turn it into a weapon. Which was pretty useful when it came to him fighting.
Instead of using matter, I used the light that was in the room. He found out the hard way that it burned when it came into contact with anyone other than me. As long as I held it, it wouldn't hurt me or disintegrate. Around the age of ten, I fully honed in on my quirk and made it the best it could be. During those long seven years, my mother did nothing to support me when my father was doing hero work. When I wanted to train, I had to train by myself. When I wanted to eat, she had me make myself something and she ate whatever she had. She refused to help me with school work and she refused to talk to me. That only caused to tear apart once my father passed.
He was fighting against a villain who was big at the time. It wasn't All For One since he was in hiding. We didn't know why, but he never showed his face. My father was called to help the other pro heroes at the time, which were All Might and Endeavor. All Might and Endeavor were doing their best, but once my father came in, they had the advantage. He created strong weapons for them to use along with their quirks. When they thought they had the villain down, they were getting ready for clean up. The villain had one last burst of strength and grabbed a weapon my father had created. It was a sword. He took the sword and drove it through my father's back and it came out through his heart. There was no helping him since he had died right then and there.
The heroes had to arrange a funeral for him. My mother didn't give a damn to arrange a funeral. She didn't even show up. I was taken to the funeral by All Might and he was there to comfort me. That was the one time where I didn't see him smile. Endeavor was there. He didn't say much. He was mostly silent during the funeral. My father were very good friends with All Might and Endeavor. And it was my father's dying wish that All Might were to train me. Even if I didn't get into U.A., he still wanted All Might to continue to train me to become a hero. Endeavor was given the duty of checking in on me every once in a while since Endeavor knew the relationship between me and my mother. All Might knew, but Endeavor had a better grasp of the situation.
A few weeks after the funeral, I was in the apartment with my mother. She wasn't there to help me with anything, like how she always was. Endeavor came almost everyday because I had asked him. He was like another father to me. Unfortunately, his fatherly side should of shown through when he was training Todoroki and his other family members. There were days when Endeavor couldn't come and it was All Might who had to help me. That was when I learned about his true form. It didn't change how I respected and looked up to him.
When I was accepted into U.A., Endeavor and All Might had thrown a celebration party for me. Most of the pro heroes came and my friends were there. Everyone was there, but my mother. I didn't know what happened since she told Endeavor she would come. It wasn't until after the party was when she showed up. Endeavor and All Might were doing clean up with me. When I saw her, I let everything out. I yelled at her that she was never there for me. She was never there to support me and I had to have both Endeavor and All Might train and teach me. They were there to support me while she was off doing who knows what. I yelled at her that I didn't need her and that our lack of a loving relationship meant nothing to me. She didn't say anything other than good luck. She turned away and left. I never saw her again. There was nothing in the news about her. Endeavor and All Might had a hard time trying to get into contact with her. After that night, they wanted to try to rekindle our relationship. I told them there was no need to relight a fire that never existed in the first place. All Might suggest starting a new with her, but they were never able to get in touch with her.
"That was the last time I had seen my mother," I told Overhaul.
He looked at the ground, trying to avoid my gaze, "I'm sorry to hear that had happened to you."
"It's fine. Endeavor and All Might were there for me, but I would of liked for Endeavor to treat his family better than me."
"He knew how much your father cared for you. He just wanted to give you something you couldn't get."
"But that meant he missed out on his family."
"Y/N," he said.
"Yeah?"
"Even though Endeavor was not really the best father to his family, but that means he didn't want you to miss out on having a father in your life. Both Endeavor and All Might were there to be like a father towards you."
I nodded my head, "Yeah."
