The Imprisoned Hero

Chapter 44

"You remember the plan?" I asked Deku.

"Yep. We got everything figured out," he said.

"Good. I want to make this special for her."

"I understand."

"I'll see you tomorrow, Deku," I said and hung up. I walked off the balcony and quickly went inside. I sat down next to Y/N as we watched a Christmas movie. Eri was on the other side of her and had a bowl of popcorn. Once the movie was over, Y/N picked Eri up and carried her to her room. She came back out and cleaned up the kitchen. I helped her clean up. Once we were finished, we headed into our room and got ready for bed.

"Goodnight, Chisaki," she said and kissed my forehead.

I kissed the top of her head before wrapping my arms around her waist, "Goodnight, Y/N."

We got everything ready in the morning before everyone came over. Eri was all dressed up in her Christmas outfit. It was a red dress that resembled Santa's jacket. She had green and white leggings, little elf slippers, and a hat on. She was excited to see everyone. I finished getting everything ready and everyone started coming over. 

"Overhaul, come here for a minute," I said.

He walked over to me and I placed a Santa hat on his head. He smiled and I placed one on my head. 

"Now we match, Chisaki!" Eri smiled. 

Momo was the first one over since she lived down the hall. Todoroki and Deku were next followed by Endeavor and All Might. Aizawa was the last one to show up. They all said hi to Eri before the real party began.

Throughout the afternoon and early evening, we were all having a really good time. Endeavor and All Might were very fond of Eri, but not as much as Aizawa was. As it was winding down, I had noticed Overhaul wasn't really around much. I was wondering why that was. He came out of our room and joined in on the festivities. I walked into our room to grab the envelope and I walked back out.

"Can I have everyone's attention?" I asked.

They all turned and looked at me.

"I wanted to give this out tomorrow, but I figured since you were all here, might as well make this a memorable one. When I first saw Eri, my first thought was Chisaki had a daughter? I didn't know Eri was unrelated to Chisaki. When I found out everything he had done to her, I knew I had to get her to safety. Thankfully, Aizawa was able to care for her until I was finally able to."

The others clapped as Aizawa nodded to them. Eri was sitting on his lap as she was listening to all of this.

"I knew from the moment I saw Eri after saving her, I wanted to care for her. When Overhaul, or Chisaki, reformed and became a hero, I knew I wanted her to start over with Chisaki and hopefully she would see him in a better light. I am very thankful Eri was capable of doing that."

Eri smiled at me and then she smiled at Overhaul.

"There was this incident that I will mention. While we were out showing Eri around Hosu, we went to this park. There was this little boy who had ran up to me. His mother ran up to him and apologized for him. I said it was fine and we had a small conversation. Chisaki had called my name to get my attention. I looked over to find Eri with the biggest smile on her face. It made me smile. The mother of the little boy had asked me if I was Eri's mother. At that time, it made me sad and it made me think that I wasn't Eri's mother. No matter how much I acted like a mother, I wasn't her mother. And Chisaki wasn't her father. With a bit of talking to one another and the court, we decided to give Eri a second chance. We knew we did not want her going to some family or person who would treat her badly. Or worse, not know how her quirk worked and how to stop her if she had accidentally used it. We both feared that she would be taken advantage of again. We wanted to prevent that from happening. So, Eri, this is a Christmas present for you."

I handed her the envelope and she opened it. She pulled out what was inside. It was certificate with Eri's name on it, but her last name matched Kai's. As she read it, she looked up at me and Chisaki with tears in her eyes.

"Are you serious?" Eri asked, her voice breaking.

Overhaul got up and walked over to me, "We're being very serious, Eri. You are now legally and officially our daughter."

Tears streamed down her face as she got up from Aizawa's lap. She ran over to us and hugged our legs. Overhaul bent down and picked her up. She cried in his shoulder and she looked over at me. I smiled and she held out her arms. We both hugged her tightly as she cried in our arms to the point where we were both crying. She pulled away and we smiled down at her.

"Thank you!" she smiled. "I couldn't ask for a better mother and father."

"With that said," Overhaul said and put down Eri. "Y/N, you have been there for everything. Even though we had a very rough start with one another, we both grew to like one another. I was surprised that you were there to save me from Endeavor. You surprised me in so many ways I didn't even know you could. Especially when you offered to help me turn into a hero rather than stay a villain. You had given me a second chance that I can never repay back to you. You learned to accept me and I learned to accept you. We both have these quirks that we've come to love. No pun intended," Overhaul said as the others laughed. "The point I am trying to make here is that, you've completed me somehow. You've also completed Eri's life as well as us becoming her mother and father. I stand before you now, with butterflies in my stomach." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a box. He knelt down onto the floor and opened it. "Y/N L/N, will you do a great honor for me? Will you marry me?"

Tears slipped down my face as I nodded, "Yes."

He smiled at me and slipped the ring on my finger. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. Our lips met one another's as everyone around us cheered. We broke away and Eri got in the middle of us. He bent down and picked up Eri. He set her on his shoulder and I reached behind her back to support her.

"Can I get a picture of this?" Deku asked.

I nodded my head and he took a picture of us.

"I'll get that printed for you guys," he smiled.

I smiled at him and turned to look at Chisaki and Eri. This was my new family.
