About a week has passed since Overhaul was dubbed the number one hero. Ever since then, crime rates have almost halted to zero. There are still some villains that are trying to get Overhaul back on their side, but other than that, there has been no recent crime. However, Overhaul does patrols in our area every now and then. I had to go with him since I was the number two hero. Eri wanted to go with us multiple times, but I didn't want to risk her getting seriously injured. Before our patrol, we would have to drop her off at U.A. for one of the teachers to watch after her.
"When do you think would be a good time for Eri to meet my mother?" I asked Overhaul.
"We can do that today if you want to. It's better to let her see your mother as soon as possible if you want her to have a good relationship between the two of them."
"You're right," I said. "Do you mind going with us?"
"Not at all."
We finished our patrol and we picked up Eri. We headed over to Tartarus to see my mother. It took the guards there a while to get my mother to come and see us. She walked through the doors and looked at the three of us. She mostly glared at Overhaul.
"Eri, this is your grandmother," I said to Eri.
Eri looked a bit shy to look at her grandmother. It was either she was shy or she was scared to look at her for some reason.
"Eri, can you say hi?"
She looked at her and waved. I smiled and looked up at my mother.
"So, this is the child you took in?" she asked.
"Yes. We both took her in because she needed a mother and father to watch after her."
"I take it you two are married?" she pointed to the ring on my finger.
"Yes. And we couldn't be happier. We love being together and we love being the parents of Eri. We would do anything for her."
"Even risk your life?"
I looked sternly at her, "If it means she's safe, yes."
Eri looked up at me with a concerned look. Overhaul looked over at Eri and whispered something in her ear. She nodded and crawled over to Overhaul's lap.
"I'm surprised she likes him," she said and looked over at Overhaul.
"Just because you don't like him doesn't mean I don't have to like him. I love my dad and I love my mom! You were just too blind to love her enough!" Eri blurted out.
I looked over at Eri. I was taken back by what she had said.
"So, you love your parents?"
Eri nodded her head, "Yes. I don't want anything bad to happen to them. They're the best parents any child could ask for."
That reminded me.
"I see. Our conversation is finished."
"Don't leave!" I said.
"I can clearly see that your daughter doesn't like me."
"Only because you tried to hurt mom and dad!" Eri yelled.
"I don't think she will get past that," my mother said and left.
We walked out of Tartarus and Overhaul was carrying Eri.
"Did I say something wrong, mommy?" Eri asked.
"No, Eri. I was just a bit surprised you thought that way about us," I said.
"You're a bit protective than I thought," Overhaul said.
"Someone needs to protect you while you're doing hero work," Eri said.
We both smiled at her and headed back into the apartment. Eri went to her room to take a nap. Overhaul and I were in the kitchen getting something to eat, since we didn't eat at all.
"I have some news for you, Chisaki."
"Is it good or bad?" he looked up at me.
"It's good."
"Ok."
"I know you're a father already, but you're going to be a father to another child."
He looked up at me. He removed his mask to show there was a huge smile on his face. He put his hand over his mouth and tried not to cry.
"T-that's great news!" Overhaul said.
He walked over to me and hugged me. I hugged him back and he kissed my cheek.
"That's wonderful news," he whispered in my ear. "I can't wait to see him or her."
Later in the week, we told Eri what to expect within the next nine months. She was excited to be getting a younger brother or sister. She wanted to help out whenever the baby comes.
"When are we going to know if its a boy or a girl?" Eri asked.
"Probably in eighteen weeks. I'll need to go to the doctor's to get checked up on," I said.
"Mommy?"
"Yes, Eri?"
"Where do babies come from?"
I looked over at Overhaul, who was trying to think of what to say.
"We'll tell you that when you're older, Eri," Overhaul said.
"Much older," I said.
"Like when I'm eight?"
"Maybe a little bit older. We'll make sure to tell you when you're old enough."
She nodded her head and sat with us on the couch. We spent the night watching a movie. Eri fell asleep on me. I had to carry her to her room. I set her on the bed and kissed her head.
"Goodnight, Eri," I whispered in her ear.
"Night, Eri. See you in the morning," Overhaul said.
We walked into our room and changed. I laid down on the bed and Overhaul turned off the lights before coming into bed. Instead of wrapping his arm around my waist, he set it on the side of my stomach.
"Is everything ok, Overhaul?"
"I'm just afraid I will hurt the baby."
I reached over and grabbed his hand. I slowly led his hand to my stomach. I rested it against it and continued to hold his hand.
"If you're holding my hand, you're not going to hurt me or the baby. Don't worry, Chisaki. You're going to do just fine when the baby comes."
"Are you sure, Y/N?"
I nodded my head, "I am very positive you will be fine."
"Goodnight, Y/N."
"Goodnight, Chisaki."
