After I dropped Eri off at the U.A. building I headed over to the hospital to see if I could at least try to see Chisaki. I doubt they would want to me to see him, but I had to try. I needed to see him. I walked in and saw there was a bit of a commotion going on. There were a few doctors and some people were arguing with one another. I walked past them and talked to the attendant at the desk.
"Who are you here to see?"
"Kai Chisaki."
She lifted up her head and the people who were arguing stopped. They walked over to me.
"Why do you want to see him?" a doctor asked.
"I think I should see him because I turned him into the hero he is now. He practically lives with me. I think of all people who should see him is me since I am considered to be more than just a friend to him."
The people there were looking at me, "If she gets to go, then we should to."
"We can't do that, ma'am. We don't want his condition to get worse than it already is," said another doctor.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"Since you're practically family to him, you're allowed to come. You need to come back at another time. You're just fans of him."
"Damn right we are. We're huge fans of Overhaul!" said the woman. I just now realized there were two small children with her.
"What is your name?" I asked her.
"Makoto," said the woman. "These are my two kids: Tamaki and Haruka."
I knelt down before them and smiled. They were hiding behind their mother.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. You might know me as Sunlight."
They both nodded their heads.
"I see you're a big fan of heroes then."
They nodded again.
"I'll tell you what. Once Overhaul gets better, I will let him know about you two and we will personally come visit you."
The two kids got excited and started to jump up and down.
"Are you sure about that?" their mother asked.
I stood up and nodded, "If he hears there are fans that adore him, he will try his best to see any kind of fans. This should actually excite him because this is the first time anyone was considered a fan of him."
"Thank you," she said. "Here is my info to get into contact with me." She handed me a small piece of paper that had her phone number, name, and address written down. "Thank you, again. Come on, kids."
She walked out of the hospital and the doctors walked me down to where he was.
"I only said his condition was going to get worse to try and get her out of there," he said. "I didn't mean to make you worried."
"It's fine," I said. "Is he awake?"
"He might be a bit loopy since we had to do another surgery on him."
"What for?"
"The stab wound he sustained had gotten infected and we had to clean it out before it did any damage to him. His arms are healing fine, but his chest, stomach, and head are the ones we're worried about. Before we go in, I want to show you the injuries he sustained."
I followed the doctor into a room and he brought up a few x-rays and graphic pictures of his wounds. He showed me the ones on his arms, chest, and stomach. Since they were very deep, they needed to heavily stitch them.
"He has about two hundred stitches. Those are going to be some very bad scarring there when they heal."
"What about his head?"
He brought up the x-ray and showed me where the side of the building hit him. It was the left side and it did not do as much damage as I thought.
"Before they could hit him, Overhaul formed a wall to lighten the impact. He had gotten hit with the debris which only caused him to have a minor concussion. He should be ok within a few months. We want him to come back here to do rehab."
I nodded my head, "Thank you."
He led me to where his room was. I walked in and there were multiple 'get well soon' cards and balloons from other pro heroes. There was even one from a few fans as well. There were multiple bouquets of flowers. He was laying down and his eyes were closed. I took one look at him and tears threatened to slip from my eyes. I couldn't stand seeing him like this. I pulled over a chair towards the side of the bed and I sat down. I looked at the monitor and the multiple IV and blood bags that were attached to his arm.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there, Overhaul."
His eyes tightly shut before they slowly opened up. He slowly turned his head towards me. He squinted before a small smile appeared on his face.
"Y/N," he whispered.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there to save you."
"It's ok. I'm going to be ok."
"When I saw the news, I didn't know what to do."
He reached out towards me and I grabbed his hand.
"It's going to be ok, Y/N. How is Eri?"
"Eri is fine. She is with Mr. Aizawa right now doing some more training with her quirk."
He slowly nodded his head, "I see. Good."
"She's worried about you, Overhaul."
"She is?" he asked.
"Yeah. She was asking me when you would be home. I think she has gotten used to us being around her so much that she knows when something is wrong."
He nodded his head once more, "I think you're right."
I continued to talk to him for a little bit before I had to leave to go pick up Eri.
"Y/N, before you leave, take this," he said and pointed to the table that was on the other side of the room. It was his mask. I walked over to it and carefully picked it up. It was broken in so many places that he probably had to get a new one. I walked back to him and lightly kissed his head.
"I'll be back soon."
I walked out of the hospital and went to go pick up Eri. We got back to the apartment and I had set his mask down on the counter. She looked at it and then up at me.
"Can we fix it?" she asked.
I nodded my head, "We can see what we can do. Would you like to help me?"
A smile appeared on her face, "Yes!"
