The Imprisoned Hero

Chapter 20

Another day had passed and Overhaul was finally discharged from the hospital. The police had came to the apartment to get the anklet and deactivate it. They congratulated Overhaul personally before leaving. Momo, Todoroki, and Deku congratulated Overhaul. He was a bit nervous being around them since they were the ones to fight against him. The three of them headed out.

"Are you excited, Chisaki?" I asked him.

"A bit nervous as well."

"I'm sure you'll be alright when we go out there."

Speaking of which, my phone had gone off. I looked and saw it was a couple of pro heroes who were in need of help.

"We've been called to help," I said.

"Really?"

"Evil never sleeps," I said and ran into my room. I changed into my hero outfit. I added on the goggles Overhaul had given me so no one can see who I'm going to try blind. I ran out of my room to see Overhaul was ready. "You ready to show that you're a hero?"

He looked determined and nodded his head, "Yes."

"Let's go!"

We headed out of the apartment building and towards downtown Hosu. We could see some smoke coming from buildings.

"We're not going to get there in time to help," I said.

"Here," Overhaul said and placed his hand on the ground. He created a slide that we rode down the hill. We got there in about a minute to see that all of the pro heroes were on the ground. Bakugo and Kirishima were there. Even they were on the ground.

"What's going on?" I asked.

Overhaul looked around and his eyes widened in fear. I looked over to where he was looking at.

"Overhaul, is everything alright?"

"Chrono," he whispered.

I looked from the smoke and saw Chrono was walking out from it.

"Ah, if it isn't Overhaul. The boss is very upset with you. First you let Eri get away and now, you're siding with the heroes. You swore you would destroy every hero in existence. Why are you working with them?"

"I was in need of a hero. I was in need of help when no one offered. I suffered in silence for way too long. It was time I deserved help."

Chrono shook his head, "If the boss were to see you with his own eyes, he wouldn't hesitate to kill you right here and right now."

"I don't care about the yakuza anymore. I have someone worth protecting from them."

"Ah, I see. Sun-Destroyer. Tell me this, Overhaul, are you willing to give your life to save her?"

"Yes," he said with no hesitation.

"Overhaul," I looked over at him.

"Chrono is able to slow down anyone. If you're hit with the hour hand, you're slowed down for an hour. It hit with the minute hand, you're only slowed down for a minute. Be careful how you tread around him, Sunlight."

I nodded my head, "Of course."

Chrono unleashed the hour hand. Both Overhaul and I dodged it.

"Sunlight, can you blind him?" Overhaul asked.

I looked at Chrono and cast a burst of sunshine at him. He threw his hands up to cover his face. Overhaul put his hand on the ground and caused it to break. Chrono stumbled as he tried to regain his balance. He jumped away from Overhaul's range.

"How can you fight me and protect the people?" Chrono asked and destroyed a building. Overhaul looked over at me.

"Can you go after him?" he asked.

I nodded my head and followed Chrono. Overhaul ran over to where the falling building was. There were multiple people who were trying to get out of there before they were crushed. He put his hand on the ground and rose up to their level. There were other platforms that were with him.

"Need some help?"

He looked over to see Deku and Momo were on the rising platforms.

"Thanks," he said.

Momo created some pillows for them to land safely on. Deku went around the building grabbing as many people as he possibly could. The building was going fast and there were still a lot of people that needed to be saved. He jumped into the building and disassembled it. He quickly reassembled so that the people who were crushed slightly were able to get out.

"Here, I can help you," he said.

They were hesitant with accepting help from him, but they needed to be saved. Overhaul helped them onto the platform he came up from. Once he had everyone on the platform safely, he began to descend to the ground.

"Was that everyone?" Deku asked.

"Yes. Go help, Sunlight. She's in need of help with Chrono."

They nodded and headed over there as soon as they could. He ran over to come help me with the others. I tried my best to fight off Chrono, but his hour and minute hands were coming at me. Chrono wanted this opportunity to fight me. He wanted to get me away from Overhaul. I could sense he was trying to separate us so that he could come find Chrono and fight him one on one. I wasn't going to let this happen.

"Sunlight!" Overhaul and the others yelled out.

I looked over to see they were running towards me. Chrono took that opening and hit me with his minute hand. I fell onto the ground and sat there. Deku jumped into the air and punched Chrono in the face.

"Get Sunlight out of here, Overhaul," Deku said.

He nodded and hurried over to me. He wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. He picked me up and started to run as fast as he could. Chrono hit Deku and Momo with his hour hand. Overhaul looked over his shoulder to see Chrono was coming after us. He tried to avoid his hour hand, but he was nicked with the minute hand. We fell towards the ground. He turned his body to where he hit the ground first. The minute was up and I could now freely move.

"Overhaul," I said.

"Don't worry about me. Go. Put some distance between you and Chrono."

"I can't leave you here."

"You need to go! He's after you! Go!"

I nodded and got up. Overhaul slowly got up, but Chrono got him again with his minute hand. As he walked past Overhaul, he tried to reach out to grab him.

"Stay away from her!" he yelled.

"Too slow," Chrono said and ran after me. He struck me with his hour hand and I fell to the ground. He came over and picked me up.

"Overhaul!" I yelled.

He picked himself up and ran towards Chrono, "Give her back!"

"Too slow once again," he said and got him with his minute hand. Overhaul fell onto the ground as Chrono ran off.

"Overhaul!" I yelled out to him.

After the minute was up, I ripped my mask from my face and I looked into the sky. I yelled out in anger and frustration. "Chrono you bastard! I'll find you!"
