"You know this is our song right ? " Jay said as he took a very confused Beyoncé 's hand . Her original plan was to eat while could and just watch other people hit the floor since she danced nearly everyday of her life when she worked , but her husband who rarely ever initiated a dance had his hand reached out for her . How could she say no ?
"Since when ?" Bey Asked as she gathered the train of her dress in her hand so she could squeeze between the chairs that created a small barrier for them .
"You honestly don't remember?" He Asked in mock offense when he realized her face was genuinely scrunched up in confusion. He watched as she racked her brain for any memory of them that went along to the sound of Maxwell crooning in the background before shaking her head and looking up at him with a sorry face .
Memories were important to her , all sentimental in their way , so when they didn't remember something that meant a lot to the other partner it didn't really sit right with her .
"It's okay " Jay said kissing her nose since he knew it always caught her off guard and made her smile . "I'll just have to remind you " he whispered into her ear as he drew their bodies closer by her waist . Their hands doing each other like clockwork, her much smaller ones dwarfing in comparison to his as held one over his heart , the other one rested on the small of her back stretching well down near her ass.
"2003 " he said as he began to sway them . "The boats never had good music so -"
"You made me a playlist " Bey remembered with a smile as she thought back to the good ole CD burning era of their lives long before you could download or airdrop a song to your lover .
There was something more special about knowing how much work someone out into finding out your favorite songs , look them up one by one , find the correct version of the song , burn them onto a CD, make sure the playlist flowed smoothly , before labeling it with marker which wasn't easy if you didn't write the song names down because then the tracks wouldn't match . Let's just say she still had every playlist he ever made her in a box of first she'd pass on to Blue to have as a part of her legacy .
"Go on" Bey encouraged as Jay painted a mental picture of the setting for her .
"I would've waited forever if you asked me " He said making her take a few steps back as the lyrics finally started to resonate with her .

"This is the song ?!" Bey exclaimed not sure to laugh or cry at the memory .
"It would've been " This woman's work" but it took a lot of warming up " Jay reminded her as her cheeks began to burn as she recalled How close she felt to him at that moment , their bodies in the same horizontal position as he made a blanket over her with body coaching her .
At that age buried her face in his chest, trying to remember more before her head shot up nearly hitting him in the mouth .

"You told me singing along would help distract me " Bey said as she felt herself being spun in a circle .

Bey sang in a rich low tone as Jay joined in , no longer afraid of someone heard him . He want the best singer but he sure knew how to make her hit all the right notes .

Jay continued to sing even when she got comfortable laying her head on his chest and stopped , trying his best to ignore her previous statement before a round of applause brought them back to reality .
"That was fun " Bey said as he walked her back to their table and sat down .

She lifted her foot very slightly and rolled her ankle to relieve it some after dancing in six inch heels before he grabbed it for her and undid the strap at the ankle so he could take it off and message it for her .
"Baby " Jay said when he saw her pick up her dessert fork about to smash the hell out of the cake samples he bought her .
"I'll save you a piece " she said as she took a bite . A piece ? He literally bought her a whole tray
"Not that " Jay said as he rubbed her leg to the her attention. "What did you mean by four ?" He Asked referring to the number of kids she counted wrong as she looked at him wide eyed .
