Roman stood there staring out into the night sky with a sad sigh. What the hell was he doing? Roman sighed as the wind rushed around him. His eyes narrowed listening to the whispers and frowned. The wind really did NOT want him anywhere near Virgil. In fact, it was being very mean.
"I'm not a bad guy." Roman leaned onto the railing putting his head down with a sad look in his eyes. "I'm not. I just said bad things." The wind whipped through his hair as the waves crashed into the boat making Roman a tad worried. "If you both keep acting like this you going to sink the boat."
"What's the problem anyway?" Roman spun himself around and looked back towards the door and rolled his eyes. "I'm doing this to get home. Once I'm home none of you ever EVER have to deal with me again. I'll never come back." Roman's eyes held a very sad glint as he stuffed his hands into his pockets and huffed in annoyance as the wind ruined his hair. "Theres nothing here for me anyway."
"Will you just shove off?" Roman whisper yelled as he made his way back to the room to check on Virgil. He did promise to keep an eye on him. "I'm not going to hurt the kid. Jesus..." This was getting on his nerves. The wind refused to let it die down. In fact, the moment he got to the door Roman was meet with a blast to the face. "KNOCK IT OFF..."
"He... help." Roman's blood went cold as he opened the door to find Virgil fussing. He looked so scared and in pain. "Ple... help. Help."
"Shh. It's ok." Roman quickly sat on the bed and pulled the man in with a worried look in his eyes. "It's ok. It's ok." Virgil whimpered in his sleep as Roman held him tightly, curled up into his lap. "It's ok."
"No... no no..." Roman tensed as he watched tears start to fall from Virgil's eyes. This was why he asked Roman not to go too far. He had nightmares. "No, please... Please... help me." Roman pulled him in closer letting his aura branch around them. He could hear the wind outside the window angrily whispering but his only concern was the panicking man sleeping in his arms. "You're safe Virgil. I'm here to help." He let out a deep breath, letting flames tumble out into Virgil's face. His green eyes began to glow as the room began to warm up. "You're safe. I'm here." His voice lulled with that songful push to his words as Virgil tensed before starting to relax. "I'm here."
"I'm here." Virgil shivered slightly before burring his head into Roman's chest stunning the man who wasn't prepared for the man to be so... adorable... and close. "It's going to ok, Virgil." The window blew open letting the wind tear through the place but Roman didn't seem to care at that moment. Not when Virgil was laying there with a soft smile. "I've got you."
"I've got you." Virgil sighed contently as he literally snuggled up to the exgod. This was a first for the man. Roman had never been in this position before. Roman smiled softly as he relaxed against the headboard. "I've got you, Virgil."
As time went on Roman remain there with Virgil in his arms until the sun started to peek up from the horizon. Roman took one last look at the peaceful Virgil before pushing himself up and stretching. He should get things ready so they could let these people get back to their lives.
By the time Virgil started to fuss again, Roman had everything packed and ready. It honestly didn't take that long. Virgil's things were pretty much all together it was just making sure they had his bag and Roman's coat. They didn't exactly have much. To be totally honest Roman wasn't really paying attention. He was too worried over Virgil having another nightmare to care about finding the man's bag. When he heard Virgil start to fuss again he froze on the spot only to sigh in relief seeing that Virgil was just waking up.
"Hey, there sleepy head." Virgil groaned as he pushed himself up to see Roman standing there with a smile. "Sleep ok?"
"I don't know..." Roman's eyes darkened as Virgil stretched. "I think I did... I don't..." Virgil frowned as he looked up at the man. "Huh."
"What?" Virgil narrowed his eyes as he looked away and smiled. "You know... I can do many things but reading someone's mind..." Virgil laughed a bit as Roman pouted. "...isn't one of them."
"I actually remember my dream." Roman's eyes went wide as Virgil smiled over at him. "I don't remember the last time I actually had a... good dream."
"Oh, well... As long as your ok." Virgil nodded as he looked around and frowned. "We're nearly there if that's what your wondering."
"Are you sure... it's going to be o-ok?" Roman frowned seeing Virgil's hands shake and he sighed.
"Virgil, I told you. It's ok. You're not alone." Virgil sighed as he nodded and Roman bit his lip in thought. "Hey, why don't we go up deck?"
"Yeah. I'd like that." Roman smiled as he helped Virgil up and laughed as the man struggled to fix his hair. "Here..." Roman passed him his bag and Virgil softly thanked him before they both left the room.
Walking onto the deck Virgil couldn't help but sigh happily as the wind rushed around him to soothe him. Virgil giggled as it tickled him softly. Roman just stood there keeping his distance as he watched the scene before him.
"I was thinking..." The ocean crashed into the boat making it rock just enough for Roman to lose his balance and Roman growled as he tried to catch himself. "OH MY GOD!" Virgil flinched as Roman jumped up yelling. "SERIOUSLY?! I can't even talk to him? I AM NOT GOING TO HURT HIM! What the fuck is wrong with you?" Roman yelled out feeling that burn below his skin. He was getting pissed. "I am not going to hurt him. I would never do something like that. How many fucking times do I need to say..." Roman froze up as his eyes started to go wide. Virgil stood there hugging himself as Roman slowly looked over at him. "They are... v-very protective of you."
"Yeah, well, when you have someone who wants to kill you people... or things tend to be." That hit Roman hard as the wind pushed at him more.
"You... You're Thomas's son. Th-that's what you said." Virgil nodded in confusion as Roman stood there in shock. "Meaning he'd obviously care about you so..." He stumbled back as it finally hit him. "If you'd gotten hurt it would... b-break his heart."
"It would do a lot more than just 'break his heart', Roman." Everything just froze around Roman as the exgod glanced over to see this serious expression and his heart just... dropped. "I am his heart."
"Mainland Port on your left boys." Roman stood there frozen in complete and total shock as Virgil made his way to the side of the boat to look at everything. Virgil... Virgil Davis, the boy that saved his life and promised to find a way to send him home... was Thomas's heart. The very thing Roman, in a fit of rage, promised to shatter.
"You coming Ro?" Roman snapped out of it seeing Virgil stand there clearly feeling anxious and scared. "You... are coming right?"
"Yeah. I'm coming." Roman smiled as he took Virgil's hand and lead him off the boat. Obviously not without telling the people thank you. However the moment they hit the dock Roman tensed in realization. "Shit. Uh, Virge?" Virgil's eyes narrowed in confusion as Roman smiled apologetically. "I forgot to mention something."
"What would that..."
"ROMAN BLACK!" The boys froze up as screams sounded and Roman deflated. People came swarming as Roman shot Virgil an apologetic smile.
"I'm... kinda... famous."
