"Virgil, I love you." Virgil frowned as Roman just sat there on the bed with this sad look in his eyes. Virgil noticed how Roman's eyes had changed to a very deep and dull blue overnight. He only sighed as he paused what he was doing making Roman smiled a small bit finally getting his attention. "I love you, Virgil."

"You know, Ro... It was only funny the first time you said it." Roman's eyes darkened as his small smile fell bad.

"I love you."

"Ro..."

"I love you, Virgil." Virgil shook his head making Roman tense up with pain, his eyes flashing a pale and off-colored yellow signifying just how much it hurt. "Virgil, I really do..."

"Roman just stop." Roman flinched as Virgil gripped the dresser tightly. He took a deep breath to calm down before zipping up his hoodie. He grabbed his custom made holsters and wrapped them around his upper thighs all while Roman just stared at the floor with this broken look.

"Why don't you believe me?"

"Roman, I said stop."

"Why don't you believe me?" Virgil groaned as buckled his second holster before turning over to see just how upset the exgod was. Roman's blue eyes were filled with tears the didn't fall but were still clearly visible. "I told you that I love you but you don't believe me. I don't understand... why don't you believe me?"

"Roman... It's not that I don't believe you. I do believe that you want this but... I can't believe that you actually love me. I'm sorry. I just can't."

"But why?" Roman whined as he gripped his shirt tightly. Virgil's face fell instantly seeing those blue eyes start to turn black. "Why can't you believe me? Virgil, I wouldn't lie to you. I love you. I love you so much. Please... Please, believe me."

"Roman, you made a promise to yourself."

"And I broke it." Virgil frowned as Roman's tears finally fell and fell hard. "I broke it, Virgil."

"God's don't break their promises." Roman froze up as Virgil just smiled softly at him. "They never do. Are you really going to sit there and tell me that you... a god... broke your promise? Do you have any idea the implications that that will bring? Roman, it doesn't matter if right now your not a full god anymore. You are still a god and you made a promise to yourself that you would never love again. Are you really going to tell me that you're the first god to ever break a promise?" Roman's eyes darkened to a very pitch black as he frowned and gripped his shirt even tighter. "I'm sorry, Roman. I can understand why you would be so adamant but... I just can't believe that you TRULY feel any actually romantic..."

"Yes." Virgil clammed up in horror as Roman just blankly looked up at him.

"What?"

"Yes. Virgil, I am very much saying that I, the god of creativity, broke my promise to never fall in love again. In fact, I broke it so fast that I didn't realize just how far I had fallen until It was nearly too late." Virgil teared up as Roman looked away. "I actually broke a promise. Sure it was a promise to myself but..."

"God's don't break promises. No divine or occult breaks a promise. It's the only reason humans can actually trust them..."

"I..." Roman broke as he Virgil just stood there staring at the man who had realization filling his blackened gaze. "I did though, Virgil. I broke my promise. I fell in love with you. I've loved you for so long. I don't even know when I started to fall just... Just when I realized that I had." Virgil was frozen under the weight of the words as Roman tried to work through everything. "I was in so much pain. The worst pain, I had even been in when I lost you." Virgil's eyes shot wide as this desperation filled Roman's features. "You died in my arms, Virgil. I completely shattered. I could take it. I could bare the possibility that I could lose you. Yes, I promised to keep you safe and to do everything I could but damn it, Virgil. In that moment... All I could do was feel how badly I wanted you to wake up... to smile and to laugh at me for even crying so much. I didn't... I didn't stop crying. I couldn't. I didn't even stop crying after my brother brought you back. I didn't stop until I... I fell asleep. Or no... I still had tears on my face so... probably not until I woke up to see you awake and healthy. Virgil, I love you so much. Why do you think I'm in so much pain?"

"Roman, I just..."

"I'm in pain because I caused the man I love to suffer so much in his past. It was my fault all that shit happened to you and then on top of that... I scared you so badly. You were scared of me... scared I would hurt you. Virgil, I don't want you to ever be frightened of me like that again. I was so close to telling you man times but I couldn't. I couldn't do it. I... I was scared."

"Roman, if you really love me... why didn't you just break the curse already?" Roman's eyes fell as Virgil rolled his eyes and walked over to the table to grab his knives, he was never able to take care of the night prior, as he was far to focused on Roman. "The curse, Roman... You had to get a kiss from the man you love. If you love me, as you keep saying, why didn't you just break it already? The curse is about your feelings, not mine. So it wouldn't have mattered if you didn't know how I felt or not. You could have gone home by now."

"Virgil, I don't care about..."

"I recant, Roman." Roman's eyes shot wide as he jumped up from the bed. "There. Now you can't say shit about you still having to do what you promised me. I recant. There's nothing stopping you. There's nothing keeping you he-..." Roman spun the smaller around till they were staring right at each other and Roman smiled softly as he brushed Virgil's tears away. "If you love me... then break the curse already."

"I can't." Virgil laughed as started to pull away only to stop as Roman's grip tightened. "I can't because I can't just kiss you, Virgil. I want to... I want to but not to break the curse."

"What?" Roman let out a soft breath as he leaned his head against his feeling just how tense Virgil was in his arms. "Roman, I don't understand you..."

"I told you before, Virgil. I will NEVER force anyone to love me." Virgil's eyes went wide as Roman's hands moved to wrap around him. "I won't do it... I can't do it. I don't want you to make a choice only because you know that it would help me. I want you to do it all because you want to. I wanted you to love me... of your own volition."

"I told you that I love you... so what's stopping you now?" Roman giggled softly as he pulled away with a soft smile.

"I refuse to let my first proper kiss be only to serve in breaking the curse." Virgil's face fell in shock as Roman's eyes turned a bright pink. "I love you, Virgil. That isn't a joke. It isn't me just saying it to make you feel better. I love you, Virgil. I don't need to go home... because I don't want to go home. I want to be with you." Virgil couldn't help the way he leaned into Roman's chest letting the other just hold him tight. "I want to be with you. I don't need this curse broken right off the bat, love. As long as you're with me... I already am home."

"I don't... I really don't understand." Roman frowned as Virgil just stood there crying in his arms. "How is it possible that you... the freaking god of creativity and love, could ever fall in love with me?"

"Oh, Love... How could I not?" Roman chuckled as he pressed his lips to Virgil's hair in a sort of kiss that both melted into. It wouldn't count. Roman knew that, but he really didn't care. "You're absolutely perfect to me."
