"So basically what I'm hearing is..." Remy frowned as he glanced at the two crossed from him with concern. "You're planning to flambe the federation?" You didn't even need to see the red in Roman's eyes to see the pure rage the god had, which was equally matched by Colt's and his sparking electric eyes.
"I don't plan on leaving much left to 'regrow'." Colt hissed as he leaned his head against his fists. "The federation... it's a parasite. The only way to kill it is with fire... plain and simple."
"Tey have Virgil." Roman added making Remy falter at the way the god's voice cracked. "Tey have him chain to te wall, Remy. Tey're torturing him."
"They killed Alex." Colt whispered making Roman jerk a bit before giving a curt not in confirmation. "Damien just shot him. And that asshole detests guns. It's literally the reason I chose a gun to use instead of a sword... even if I do know how to use one."
"You chose a gun because your brother hated it?" Kallie asked softly as Colt deflated with a shrug.
"Mark was adamant about how he wanted his children to be. He treated us all as soldiers and nothing more. We had to be the best. Even when we were at our worst... we still HAD to be better than the others. We had no choice but to use a sword as our weapon. I... I chose to be as defiant as I could be. Where the twins accepted and excelled with a sword, I chose a gun. Where they found joy in war..." Colt gritted his teeth as he tried to quell that fire in his chest. "I chose to be as diplomatic as I could be. If I could lessen the amount of bloodshed then I felt I was doing something. As harsh as it is... I had twisted my own mind into believing that one or two dead was far better than the federation raging war and killing many just to get to that one or two people."
"That's fucked up." Colt nodded as he avoided anyone's gaze.
"Yea... I know. To me, at the time I thought it was all I could do. Being the necessary evil so that more people could survive. I ended up getting into tech, and hacked the systems so I could always know exactly what the plans were. Less chance to be suddenly surprised with a random raid like they... They tried to do with Virgil." Roman's eyes snapped over Colt visibly curled into himself. "They wanted to destroy the entire island to get him. I had just managed to talk Mark into letting me take over as Damien walked in to say he was clear to leave. If... If hadn't then..."
"When was tis?" Roman asked softly seeing how nerve-wracked Colt was.
"That first time I showed up. When I... When I hurt Virgil? I didn't want to, I was playing a part." Roman's eyes widened as Colt just looked away, feeling every gaze burn into him. "I had told Mark that we didn't know if Virgil was vulnerable or if our facts were right about him even being there. I kept being up the fact that they couldn't afford to break the treaty. He... told me I was to return with proof Virgil was there and could be harmed. Otherwise, they were storming the island. I was hoping Virgil wouldn't show up but... I should have known he would have. The island was his home." Colt's eyes darkened as he went lax a bit, guilt pooling in his gut. "The second he showed up, I was fucked. I couldn't convince Mark he wasn't there when the entire party had seen him with their own eyes. So... I... I did what I had to. I had to do what Mark wanted. I hurt Virgil to get that fucker his proof just so I could try to keep control over everything. As long as Mark was pleased he'd let me handle the capture. That meant I could do what I could to keep innocent lives safe."
"Tat's why ya started texting Alex." Colt nodded as he looked up to see the conflicted expressions in the other Demis' eyes. Roman just looked sad as he always did when Colt talked about his past.
"More information means more I can use to make sure nothing goes wrong. I... I wasn't planning on it... on..." Colt choked up as he hid his face in his hands trying really hard not to cry. Kallie and Roman both were up in seconds, eyes glowing, as they rushed to care for the other who was on the brink of breaking down. "He's dead. Alex is dead... a-and I... I never... I didn't think. Fuck."
"Shh... it's ok." Kallie smiled sadly as her eyes glowed even brighter. "It's hard losing someone you love, but it's going to ok."Colt's hands dropped back to the table making everyone gasp over his eyes being a pitch empty void, as if the pain he was feeling took all his light and spark. It was just dark... black... Like Roman's eyes too at that moment.
"I'm sorry. I just... I love him and he's gone. His god is stuck getting tortured by the people that raised me and I... I couldn't save either of them. They forced me to promise then that I would leave them behind if I had to. I didn't have a choice." Emile smiled sadly as he reached his hand out taking Colt's, surprising the younger demi.
"They were right to. You have information that could save countless more lives." Colt's eyes narrowed as Emile squeezed his hand softly. "You can make sure that no one else died like Alex."
"I want the federation to burn." Colt hissed with tears falling from his eyes. "Not just for Alex but for all the people they've killed... that I've killed. The innocent Demi's... the humans who tried to help them... MY FUCKING MOTHER!" Colt yelled out before biting his tongue to hold his anger. "If I hadn't gotten out they would have killed me too. They don't care who they kill. They're monsters. The whole damn base."
"Then all can say to that is..." Remy chuckled as he kicked his feet up smirked brightly, before flicking his glasses up into his hair. "Where's the lighter fluid?"
