'I don't know what else to do to prove it, Roman.' Colt crumbled as he stared down at his phone, walking through the halls just keeping to himself. He didn't have to worry much. No one bothered a member of the family EXCEPT another member of the family. Father never showed his face unless he asked for them. Damien was off in meetings, and Celine was out on a mission. He was completely safe to text freely and do what he wanted.
'I want to talk to someone.' Colt froze stiff as Roman's text came in. His eyes filled with horror as he crashed. 'You want me to trust you. I want to talk with one of them. I... I want to know they're ok.'
'I'll do what I can.' Colt sighed as he stuffed his phone into his pocket and walked himself up to this locked door. His eyes met with the overcomplicated lock and he rolled his eyes. Honestly, what was the point of this? Colt smirked as he looked around to see he was completely alone before popping the compartment open. He pulled out a small tool bag laughing softly at the sparks and shocks that erupted with everything he did. Only then did he pull his phone out again. He hooked it up and started typing away, making it so it would give him access without informing everyone of his entry...
And then there was a ding, letting Colt know he had succeeded. He beamed as he quickly unhooked everything and closed it all up before anyone could see him. He opened the door and everything just froze on him.
"What do you..." Alex stopped dead in his tracks as he looked up to see Colt standing there. He watched as the other slowly closed the door with a sad smile on his face. "Colt?"
"H-Hey." Colt coughed trying to clear his throat as he stumbled further in the room. Alex flinched as he quickly looked away only making Colt sigh as he nodded. "Look, Alex... I'm so...
"What do you want?" Colt tensed as he just stared over at the other who was leaned against his knees with this broken look in his eyes. "Did you just come to taunt me?"
"No."
"The broken Demi who..." Alex frowned as he looked back up with this confused look. "What? No? Did you just say no?"
"Alex, I never wanted this." Alex's eyes shot wide as Colt visibly crashed. The younger looked around before gesturing to an empty chair. Alex didn't do anything but follow the other with his eyes as Colt sat down. "Alex..."
"It was you." Colt flinched as Alex's voice shook. His eyes turned black making Colt break even more. "You... You were... The phone and... Why? Why would you... Were you just using me?"
"NO!" Colt jumped at his own voice his hand slapping over his mouth as his eyes went wide in shock. He hadn't even really thought about it all. But seeing Alex so hurt and upset, He didn't hesitate to answer. It was the first time he ever really realized how far from the mission he had stray. "Not... " Colt crashed as he let his hand drop to his lap, a look of defeat that made Alex frown in confusion. "Not towards the end... not for a while. I won't lie. In the beginning, it was just to get information."
"Why..."
"I told you, Alex." Alex clammed up as Colt actually started to tear up. "I told you what it was like. You were the ONLY person I ever actually opened up to. I told you... I don't agree with them." Alex's eyes set as Colt just shook his head. "I don't like gods... I don't. I think there pompous and moronic, but I am self-aware enough to know that my judgment of them is SOLEY because of how I was raised. I hate them... because I was raised to hate them." Colt clenched his fists as he tried to work through things. "I... I don't see the point in burning entire islands to the ground just to get one demi. A person who was of human birth... SIMPLY because they were chosen by a god or demon. Demons are smart. They know how to not get caught. Gods can't even leave their domain so... We literally torture and kill innocent people for what reason... I just can't accept that. I can't..." Alex's expression seemed to soften as Colt sighed and just deflated. "I did what I had to because I had to. I played the part of the villain to keep as many people safe as I could. But... I never wanted you to get involved in this."
"Why do you even care, Colt? If I was just someone to get information from..." Colt smiled sadly as he pulled his phone out. The human just stared at his texts for a while before switching to call and promptly dialing the number as fast as he could. "Colt?" Colt gestured for Alex to be quiet, mouthing 'not my name' to him as the phone rang and rang and...
"H-Hello?" Colt actually broke a bit. He didn't know if Roman would respond but he sounded so... broken. All he could do was pass the phone over to Alex with this stunned look in his eyes. "H-Hello? Is... Is a-anyon-ne..."
"Dad?" Alex whispered softly into the phone the second he heard Roman's voice. All sound seemed to cut out as tears began to build. He just stared at Colt who egged him on with a small smile. "I don't... I don't understand. Why?"
"He wanted to talk to one of you." Colt commented softly as he gestured for him to continue again. "Go on. He's probably... so... shocked to say anything back. So you talk to him."
"Again why do you care..."
"Because I care about you... ok?" Alex froze up completely in shock as Colt flinched at his own words. "I... I care about you... ok? I told you. It may have started out as just getting information the safest way I knew how but... The more I got to know you... the more I got to know in general... When I said I wished I was there because it sounded fun... I was being serious."
"Co..."
"Do not say my name." Colt quickly cut in making Alex jump. "He..." Colt pointed at the phone making Alex's eyes widen having actually forgotten he was on the line with Roman. "He can't know. Not... yet. Not until I actually get shit figured out or... I fix this mess." Colt sighed as he smiled over at the demi. "Talk to your father, Alex."
