"Joan what are you doing?" Roman laughed as he made his friend jump in shock. Joan just smiled sheepishly as he dropped the sponge into the bucket.

"I was... I was cleaning Virgil's memorial." Roman smiled as he shook his head softly.

"You didn't have to. You know I come here every day. If it needed to be cleaned don't you think I would have handled it?" Joan nodded with an awkward laugh as they stood up with the bucket.

"I just... I thought now that we've been getting more tourism thanks to what Emile and Kallie did in Gaurdwell... I thought I would try to just polish things up. This is a favorite tourist spot. 'God's Memorial'... That's what they're calling it anyway." Roman frowned as his eyes met those words he's seen for 7 years now. He couldn't help but choke up a bit.

"Honestly, Joan... I don't even remember doing that. That whole day is a bit... foggy." Joan's eyes darkened as Roman shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. "A lot of things are... foggy."

"Hey, you still remember him. That's what matters right." Roman nodded as he smiled again and just laughed at himself.

"Of course I remember him. I'll always remember him. I love him. Anyway..." Roman giggled as he teleports behind his friend startling them a bit as Roman started to nudge them away way from the memorial. "Talyn's come back from their trip and they've already gone crazy over you not greeting them at the dock."

"Oh shit!" Joan took off running after forcing the bucket into Roman's hand and the other just laughed over how fast they ran off.

"They are so in love." Roman rolled his eyes playfully as he dumped the water into the tree-line and carried it back home. "Woah, Woah... What are you doing?" Roman quickly set the bucket down as he helped Logan down the stairs seeing the man struggling. "You know the doctor said no pushing yourself."

"I'm not old, Roman. I'm only 48." Roman's eyes flashed silver making Logan sigh as he just let the man help him. "I'm not old, Ro. I'm not helpless... I'm just a bit weaker."

"I know that..." Roman smiled as they got to the last step and let go of the other. "...but I also know what the doctor said. You might not think it's that important but you really shouldn't push yourself. You're already needing a cane... I don't want you in wheel too soon."

"I'm sorry for worrying you." Logan smiled as he glanced out at everything before laughing softly. "Actually... I was coming to find you."

"You were?" Logan nodded as he took Roman's hand to help keep himself a bit steady. "Why?"

"I wanted to talk with you... Why don't go for a walk?"

"Yeah, I can should you what I did with the gardens!" Roman beamed as he started to lead Logan off, careful to help him if he needed it. It didn't take them long really. For 7 years now Roman had been working on this. At first, it just started off as him tending to Patton's tree... and then adding flowers around Virgil's memorial... and then it became a hobby of sorts... and now... "TADA!" Roman giggled as he gestured dramatically to a large rose archway that led into the gardens. "What do you think? I thought they looked pretty. Of course, I'm biased. Any flower that denotes love is a personal favorite of mine."

"They look lovely, Roman." Roman's eyes shine a deep shade of violet making Logan chuckle softly.

"Come, I'll show you what I did inside." Roman led him through this maze type this pointing out any new flower he planted or something he had placed, like a gift a tourist left. Roman always made a note to tell people they didn't have to leave anything but people still did. Talk got around that a literal god lived here and on top of that those you know or learn of Virgil's story all come to pay tribute to him and Roman equal, despite the later's objections. "Oooh, this one is one of Virgil's. Isn't it pretty?" Roman knelt down as he brushed off this large stone rose. "It's simple... but perfect. This guy named Alex brought it."

"Another gift?" Roman nodded as he stared happily at it. "Did this Alex say why?"

"I don't think so. He just laughed and called me a dragon witch." Logan's brow quirked slightly in confusion as Roman stood back up with a smile. "I don't know. He was a nice kid though. Very kind for such a young man. So... what do you think? It's coming along right?" Logan nodded as Roman rolled his eyes playfully. "Well, it better be. I've been working on it for so long."

"That's... actually what I wanted to talk to you about, Roman." Roman stopped as Logan took his hand again moving to walk through the rest of the garden with him. "You've been here for 7 years."

"Well, yeah... It's my home." Logan smiled as Roman's eyes narrowed in concern. "Is something wrong?"

"No. Of course not. I had just been thinking of all the years you've been here. 7 years... 7 years you've stayed. You've been helping Joan and me. You've been doing things such as the garden and all those plays." Logan paused for a second glancing over to see just how concerned Roman was. "Roman, you've been doing so much for this island."

"It's my home."

"And that's why I got to thinking... You know I was planning on having Virgil succeed me, right?" Roman nodded hesitantly as Logan looked out towards everything, spotting Patton's tree in the distance. "He was going to be the next chief but never got the chance to complete the ceremony."

"I... think I remember that." Logan's eyes darkened as his eyes met the cool black marble of his son's memorial nearly hidden from so far away. "What is this about?"

"You know what the doctor said. I'm losing mobility in my legs. My muscles are getting weaker. I'm struggling just to get down the stairs." Roman's eyes flashed a light grey and Logan let out a shaky breath. "I can't continue caring for this island as chief if I can hardly even stand on my own to feet. There's just to much to do."

"Are you stepping down?" Logan only nodded once before Roman freaked. "Wait, what? No. You can't step down. Who's going to take your place? Joan? Are you going to Joan? You are, aren't you? You're going to pick Joan. They're the only one that makes sense. They do know this island pretty well. Plus they were there with Virgil when he was learning everything. I think it's a good choice. Joan would make a good chief..."

"No, Roman." Roman froze up as Logan took his arm and shook his head. "I'm not choosing Joan. They wouldn't want the job anyway. They like where they're at right now. I found better successor anyway."

"Better? Who could be better than the person who literally helped show me the ropes? They're the ones that helped me to learn the layout of the island. They taught me every trick they know including where to get the best fruits in the grove. They even helped me start the whole tourist thing to begin with when we noticed more people were coming here." Logan was just standing there giving the god this look as Roman frowned. "Lo, there is no one better."

"I think so. After all, he spent 7 years dedicated his time to this island and it's people without a second thought as to anywhere else he should have been." Roman's eyes shot wide with a flurry of colors as Logan just smiled. "The people love you... and you love this place. You've proven how much you care about this island. I know you'd be an amazing chief. Besides..." Roman's eyes tear up as Logan just chuckled. "The title of chief is always past down to the child. Last time I checked... You were my son."
