"So either, you're making sure I'm not about to hurt you all or... Roman busy and told you to check on me." Colt called out as the door opened up to reveal Thomas standing there with a shocked expression. "Roman's footsteps are heavier than yours and you hesitated to even open the door. It was obvious which one of you was there. So... which is it? Why are you here?" Colt glanced over from his bed as Thomas sighed as shut the door behind him.

"I... wanted to... wanted to talk." Colt frowned as Thomas sat down in the chair and smiled. "By the way, you reacted earlier to the whole Demi thing... I guess it just dawned on me that you might not understand. So, I wanted to know if you had any questions about it."

"I have plenty of questions. I'm just not so sure I want to ask them." Colt glanced back at his computer as he watched his sibling in the training room. Another camera showed Virgil with some dude. His back was to him so he couldn't see who it was but it seemed like he was at least caring for the exgod. Probably was told to concidering he's not exactly doing that well of a job. Virgil doesn't seem scared though... more in awe. They're talking... as long as Virgil isn't upset or getting hurt then theres no reason to alarm roman about it.

"I'm willing to anwser any question you may have." Colt hesitated a bit as Thomas nodded from over where he sat. "I've got many... many years on Roman... and I've made a few demi's my self... all of which are sadly gone now, well... Virgil's a god but still."

"Why?" Thomas smiled as Colt slowly closed his computer giving him his full attention. "Why make a demi?"

"I was lonely." Thomas's smiled turned sad as he sifted through the memories he did have. There weren't many but his was far better then most. "The first one I made was when I was still a demon." Colt tensed up in shock as Thomas just laughed. "Yes, Colt. I was origanally a demon... The King of demons in fact. So... boo."

"Oh, ha ha... asshole." Thomas giggled as he waved the human off.

"No really." Colt frowned as Thomas just shrugged. "I was the King of Demons back when I was one. Now the crown belongs to someone else but... I was the strongest there was. I was also very... very lonely. I met a small girl. I can't remember he age or name or... even what she looked like. By this point I was starting to want to venture out more. I took a liking to her. She was kind... much like her real father. As she grew up we became very close friends. Until she got real sick. I don't really know why I did it. Just... that watching her die hurt so I wouldn't let her."

"But... Shouldn't you give them a choice?" Thomas frowned as Colt quickly looked away. "You're ultimately ripping them from everything they know because you want them to be your kid... doesn't that sound... wrong to you?"

"Colt, you have to understand... we don't know any other way." Colt's eyes darkened as Thomas just sadly sighed. "I do see what your getting at. I do... but... Tell me... how would you have handled Virgil then."

"What?"

"Virgil was a still born child, who's mother entrusted him to me." Colt's whole body turned to ice as Thomas stared blankly at the wall. "The last thing she ever said was for me to be the best father to him and he wasn't even alive."

"Then... How..."

"I gave him my heart. The heart of Te Fiti... I made him a demi, Colt." Colt crashed... visibly crashed as Thomas leaned against his legs. "I gave him a life... by doing the very thing you said takes it. Right now... with how you were raised and with all your opinions on the matter. If you were given the choice to save a life by turning them into a demi... would you do it?"

"Not all gods do it to save a life." Thomas nodded as Colt snapped back trying to fight back instead of letting the god win.

"No. We don't. Moana wasn't..." Thomas giggled as he stared off with a fond expression. "I gave her a boat to travel the oceans with. Oh, she loved it so much. She was this adventurous girl with so much spunk and light in her. So you are correct Colt. We don't just chose a human who's dying. But we don't go into it saying we're going to ruin their lives. We truthfully care for that human otherwise, it wouldn't work."

"What do you mean?"

"The human we gift our tokens to MUST be one that falls under us. All of those who I have made demi's fell under those who loved or needed life and cherished it. They were my people. The people I swore to care and protect. Say for an example, I for some reason decided I wanted to try to make you a demi." Colt's hands twitched as his thoughts spiralled. Unfortunately, Thomas really didn't notice so he just kept talking. "I would give you a token but... It wouldn't matter. You don't fall under me. You're not one of my people. The most that would happen is you'd get a worthless trinket."

"And... Let's say... someone did."

"Did what?" Colt swallowed his anxiety as he tried to work through everything.

"Gave me a token." Thomas's eyes narrowed in confusion as Colt's hands shook a bit. "A god that... I did fall under." Colt's eyes darted to the door making Thomas even more confused but the god didn't voice it. He just let Colt finish asking his question. "Let's say there was a god who I did fall under and... they decided like you said... to make me a demi for some... stupid reason..." Colt's voice hitched as he clenched his fists appearing angry when in reality... he really didn't know how he felt about it. "And so they gave me a token... What would happen then? Do I just not get a choice in the matter?"

"I see." Thomas laughed softly as he shook his head. "You're basing this on the human being forced. It's a gift Colt." Colt's eyes narrowed as Thomas shrugged. "You have every right to reject it. If they do not want to the gift or do not want to be a demi, they can deny it." Thomas smiled as Colt looked away clearly lost in thought. "They just never do."
