"At tis point, I'm ready to jus' elope!" Roman yelled as he crashed onto the couch with this tire pout. "Is i' really that bad to jus' want to get married and say feck wit' it all?"
"Are you that impatient?" Virgil giggled as he sat beside him and curled up in his arms.
"I went 150 years without ye, Mo Gra. Te sooner we're married te happier I'll be." Roman smiled happily as Roman trailed his fingers through the younger's hair. "I love ye so much. Yer te most important to me. I guess I am a bit impatient... I'm jus' tired of waiting to call ye mine."
"You already can call me yours, hun." Virgil smiled as just breathed Roman in. "I am literally forever yours." Virgil shot the other a playful look as he smirked. "But can you, as the god of love and romance, REALLY be able to just forgo a wedding and elope."
"YES!" Roman yelled as he collapsed into the couch with this look of dramatic pain. "I very much would be. Tink about it... What's more romantic? A big wedding wit' a ton of people, spending all tat money, and never really getting any alone time to jus' be together. OR... Elope, where it would be jus' te two of us, getting married... no anxiety, no loud annoying company. Jus' us together taking everything at our own pace."
"Well, when you say it like that..." Virgil teased as he leaned into him with this mischievous look. "I want a wedding."
"Goddammit!" Roman laughed as the two just laid there a mess of giggles and smiled. Alex hardly even noticed. He was far to focused on his phone again. Roman frowned as he glanced over seeing the worried look in the youngest eyes. "Hey, Alex? I'm sorry. I wasn' tinkin'."
"It's fine. He just hasn't texted me back yet." Alex mumbled as he slowly walked over to this chair. "It could mean many things. He did say he was in meeting. He could just be bus..."
'We... we have a problem.' Alex's eyes shot wide as he clammed up letting the two gods talk amongst themselves. 'No. I have a problem.'
'If this is about the text earlier, don't worry about it. My dad was just being stupid.'
'It's not about the text.' Alex's eyes narrowed in concern as the text kept rolling in. 'Remember when I told you, my family business was very demanding?'
'Yes? You said you didn't approve of everything... that you weren't really on the same wavelength... right?'
'I did.' Alex was tense. He sat up more and leaned into himself as he tuned everything out. Something was wrong. He could almost sense the fear coming off the phone. 'I'm worried, I went too far with this. That... I'm in too far now.'
'I told you. If you don't like it there then leave.'
'I can't.' Alex's eyes slowly started to darken, turning black as his worry got worse. 'I was raised in this. I don't agree with it but it's all I've known. I told you... I play a part just to make them happy and... I'm too far in. I'm stuck. I'm sorry.'
'Sorry? Sorry about what? What's going on?'
'Alex, I'm sorry.' Alex's eyes shot wide as his hands started to shake. They never told each other their names. They only ever went by their pens. The fear that crashed through him was so intense, Virgil's eyes darted up instantly. 'You need to run!'
"Alex?" He was frozen in his seat unable to move. He didn't even hear Virgil's voice. All he was able to focus on at all was the last texts that came in.
'Please, Alex. I'm sorry... I don't have a choice. Protect yourself.' Tears spilled from his eyes as they finally looked up and met with Virgil's who was glowing in understanding. 'RUN!'
"Well Hello!" The front door burst open with a kick revealing a very tall and muscular built man with a gun and a gigantic smile. "We're looking for a mister... Virgil Davis."
