"So... Now that Thomas has decided to... Spruce up his mountain nearby... leaving us on our lonesome..." Virgil's eyes narrowed as Roman smirked softly. It wasn't hard to detect the way Roman's words sounded different... as if a slight accent was beginning to make itself known. "What was your oh so important surprise?"
"Roman..." Virgil sighed as he shook himself out of his thoughts. It wasn't anything important right now anyway. Besides... He's been dying to give his love the ring since before it was even made. "Oh, alright. Mister pushy..." Virgil laughed as Roman made a dramatic sound of offense.
"What? Waiting is murder!" Virgil laughed as Roman nearly rolled off the couch. "Come on please, Mo Gra?"
"I... uh..." Virgil tensed with anxious excitement as he practically forced Roman to cover his own eyes. Roman burst out laughing as he gave the other a play full smiled. "No peeking."
"Geallaim." Virgil sat there with a confused look as Roman sighed and nodded. "I promise... Now please?"
"Ok. Ok..." Virgil shivered with excitement as he pulled the small box out of his pocket and held it tightly in his hand. "Roman?"
"Yea?" Roman giggled softly as his smile only got bigger.
"Well... I had been thinking... You proposed and everything..." Roman's smiled slowly dropped to a look of confusion as Virgil's just kept getting bigger. "... and it's been so long since you first asked, that you didn't want to wait to ask me again."
"I couldn't wait. I told you..." Roman's hands slowly dropped letting Virgil see the pools of hazel blue in his confused eyes. "Waiting is murder."
"Well... I just thought that because you didn't wait... you didn't get a ring, did you?" Roman's eyes shot wide with a bright flash of faded red and Virgil smiled sadly seeing his love's guilt.
"No, I didn't. I didn't get a ring. I was just... When I first asked it was in the moment, it felt right. I... And then I couldn't... once I remembered all I wanted to do was be with you... I'm sorry. I should have gotten you a ring. I should've..." Roman froze, eyes flashing that pale blue-grey, as he spotted the box in Virgil's hand. "Virgil?"
"Now, see this is why I said no peeking." Roman's eyes darted up to him as tears filled them completely.
"Virgil?" Virgil smiled as he held the box out letting Roman take it hesitantly. "I don't... I don't understand."
"Well, I figured that... since you asked... I would get the rings." Virgil held his hand up letting Roman finally see the ring he had on and it was like a dam burst, his tears spilled like waterfalls as his hands shook so bad he almost dropped the box.
"You... You got..." Roman's eyes where the brightest sakura and royal purple Virgil had ever seen as he shook crazily. He fumbled with the box making Virgil laugh as he held his hands steady. "You got rings?" Virgil nodded with a very soft smile as he carefully opened the box. This burst of warm air flurried around them as Roman crashed completely, his eyes white at this point. "You got a ring?!"
"Well, what are you waiting for, Roman?"
"I just... I uh..." Roman smiled as nodded enthusiastically. He gently brushed his fingers over the ring only to go stock stick in complete shock.
"Roman?" His eyes met with Virgil before quickly pulling the ring out and just holding tightly in his hand. "What?"
"I... I can... I feel it." Virgil's eyes lit up. "It... It's like flounder... better than flounder... it feels like you. I... I can feel it." Roman melted as he just collapsed into Virgil. "I love you so much. I love you. I love you."
"I love you too, Ro." Roman beamed as he pulled away and just looked it over. His eyes met with the engraving and his heart just sang. He put it on and let out a soft breath over the feeling. He could feel it. The love Virgil put in it...
"How?"
"I don't know." Virgil laughed as he brushed the other's hair back. "I mean... I helped make it."
"YOU MADE IT?!"
"I helped." Virgil specified as he rolled his eyes. "Ash did most of it, which is why it was done so quickly but... Yeah. I helped make them from scratch. I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted it to show just how much I love you."
"Virgil, I can literally feel it." Roman held his hand up and just... he was in awe. "Is tú gach rud atá agat go litriúil, Grá ... agus níor shíl mé go bhféadfainn grá níos mó a thabhairt duit ná mar a rinne mé cheana."
"Roman, I have no idea what you're even saying." Roman faltered a bit eyes flashing light grey as he nodded and looked away.
"Sorry..."
"No, hey..." Virgil quickly nudged his face till their eyes met as he smiled softly at his love. "I wasn't saying you had to stop... just that I didn't understand. I didn't know you spoke something other than English. What language is it?"
"I just... I don't know." Roman shrugged a bit as he smiled awkwardly. "It's just something I've always known. It feels... natural to me."
"Roman... where are you from?" Roman's eyes went wide as he frowned and fell silent. "Do... Do you not remember?"
"God's don't remember anything but what made them gods, Virge... Unfortunately... I don't remember anything from 'home' except Remus really." Virgil frowned as Roman just sighed. "I don't know. I don't need to know though. This island is my home. It's the only home I need. You... You are my home. Tá tú ar fad a theastóidh uaim riamh, Mo mhuirnín dílis."
"I wish I knew what you were saying." Roman's eyes darkened as Virgil leaned into him and sighed softly.
"I... I could say it in english..."
"No." Roman faltered as Virgil quickly shut him down. "Roman, whatever it is you are saying... don't change how you're saying it. I may not understand... but I don't have to."
"But..."
"Roman... I love you." Roman smiled as he cuddled into Virgil letting his eyes slip shut just being there with his love. He was happy. He... He felt like he could just be. He didn't remember the last time he could let his walls down but with Virgil, all that mattered was their love and nothing else.
"Tá mé i ngrá leat freisin, A stór mo chroí ."
