"V-V-Virg..." Roman groaned in his sleep as he wrapped his arm around the thing beside him and sighed into it. "Don... Don't go." Roman frowned as he pushed himself further into whatever he was holding hearing the steady yet slow beat of a heart. His body shuddered badly as he held on tight. as if afraid they would just vanish. "Don't... d-don't leave. Don't... V-Virge... Storm-m..." Roman whimpered as these flashes filled his mind. "No. Don't... Don't... Ah..." Roman cried out as this pain burned through him. "...no...No...NO! VIRGIL!" Roman jumped up panting as his tears fell down his cheeks. He groaned in annoyance as he quickly tried to wipe them away before laying back down again. He has that nightmare ever night but can never remember what the hell happened in it. Honestly, if his mind wanted to remind him EVERY SINGLE NIGHT... then why couldn't he remember that stupid dream?
"God damn it!" Roman whined as he glanced around finding himself not in his bed like he had thought. "Wait..." His eyes glanced over to find Virgil laying there and he froze up. "Luc?" Roman frowned seeing his friend fuss abit before rolling over till he was facing him and sighing. "Luci, I don't..."
"Go back to sleep." Virgil mumbled as he weakly reached out for him. Roman just pulled away again making the other groan and open his eyes. "Roman?"
"I'm sorry. I just uh... Can't." Virgil nodded slowly as he pushed himself up and smiled. "Besides... we're just sleeping out in this random clearing... We should go home, Stormcloud."
"I don't want to." Virgil chuckled as Roman's eyes darkened. "I don't really like it at the motel. It's unfamiliar." Virgil sighed as he stretched before shaking his head. "You're right though. It's late... 4 in the morning late." Roman's eyes went wide as he quickly pulled his phone out finding it was indeed 4 in the morning. "You should go home, Ro."
"How?" Virgil rolled his eyes as he just shot the other this look.
"God of darkness, Roman. I think I'd be able to tell the freaking time at night." Roman's eyes narrowed as Virgil just pushed himself up to his feet and took a deep breath. "It's nice at night. It's quiet... calm. People get so scared of the dark... I don't understand why when it's so beautiful."
"Yes, well... god of darkness, right?" Virgil frowned hearing the tone Roman's voice had. His eyes darted over to see the scarlet in them and he tensed.
"Roman, why are you angry?"
"And how would you know I'm angry?" Virgil's frown only grew as he pointed lazily over to him.
"You're eyes are scarlet. Scarlet means anger. You're angry at me for some reason." Roman's eyes narrowed, even more, making Virgil step back with anxiety. "Roman? Why are you angry?"
"Who the fuck are you really?" Virgil flinched as Roman growled. "You know so much about me. We apparently have some pretty... serious history. You don't remember much and you just said... you didn't say your god was of darkness... you just simply said 'god of darkness'... In fact, you never said anything about your god. You said... 'something like that' so tell me 'Lucifer' who the fuck are you?"
"That's not important."
"It sure to hell is to me." Virgil shook his head as he took another step back making Roman stand up just so that he could keep the conversation going. "Who are you?!"
"It's not important, because you don't remember!" Roman growled deeply again making Virgil shake with nerves. "Roman... I can't tell you. I don't know how and the last thing I want is to hurt you. To much information too soon could trigger something."
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"
"Roman, please stop!" Roman froze in his spot the moment Virgil started to cry. "You're scaring me."
"Luci?" Virgil whimpered as Roman's voice choked. "I..." Roman took a step forward only for ice to fill his veins seeing Virgil flinch and threw his arms up.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Virgil muttered as he shook horrible. "I'm sorry."
"Hey, no. Stop that. It's not your fault. I shouldn't have gotten angry." Virgil shook his head frantically as Roman tried not to give in to the pain burning through him. "Luc..."
"That's not my name." Roman's eyes shot wide as Virgil choked. "My name isn't lucifer. I lied. I lied... I... I'm sorry. I just can't." Virgil took off running, shadows wrapping around him making him vanish from sight as Roman just stood there frozen in shock.
"Stormcloud?" Roman gasped as his hand went to his chest feeling as his heart practically shattered in him. "Shit." Roman sighed as he blinked and teleported back into his home just to crash onto his bed. His whole body ached horribly. His fingers wrapped around his stuffed fish feeling the shake die down a bit but the pain just ripped him a new one. He was having a hard time breathing because of it all. He knew what the problem was. Flounder wasn't enough. It kept him stable but that man, to which he frightened away, HE made it all better. He gave him the contact he needed. And he just scared him away... Roman whimpered as his tears started to spill making the room blur around him.
Roman didn't understand it. He didn't know why that hurt so much. This guilt burned him alive like a firey hell the devil himself started just for him. He had scared him. Roman scared him. Something told him it wasn't the first time and that made it all even worse. What was wrong with him?
He just didn't know.
That morning Roman pushed himself up out of bed and groaned feeling how shaky he was. He needed to find Virgil. He needed to fix things... again. He didn't know why he needed him but the thought of something happened killed him. He needed him. So he got himself up and dressed. He skipped breakfast, like usual, and just walked out of the house hoping Virgil had gone back to the motel... the only problem.
"Fuck..." Roman froze, heart skipping a beat, at the large crowd of people standing there around the pier. Roman's eyes met with a familiar grim green pair and everything just dropped. "The federation."
