"Virgil, please relax." Alex whispered softly as he rubbed his gods arm lightly in a supportive manner. He'd been by his side now for a few days since that break down in the fields. Virgil was on edge and he wasn't ever seeming to calm down. "I know you're worried but..."

"Alex, I know you care but please... you're only making it worse." Alex sighed as he let go giving the other some space as they walked. "How... H-How was that 'date'?"

"It was not a date." Alex groaned as he rolled his eyes playfully. "It was a virtual hang out. We literally just spent the night texting each other complete nonsense."

"You left to go to home for this 'hangout' at five and had stayed up till 6 in the morning... You two were on a date." Alex blushed as Virgil teased him with a smirk. "Fess up. Who is this mystery lady?"

"Uh... well... not a lady that's for sure." Virgil's eyes went wide as Alex just laughed. "I'm gay... like you and Ro."

"How... YOU'VE NEVER TOLD ME!" Alex laughed even louder as Virgil pouted childishly. "140 years and you never ONCE mentioned you were gay. I would've liked that info... I would have SO taught you what to do to get a guy."

"Oh really?" Virgil nodded with a slight smile making Alex roll his eyes. "And what, Virgil... is your secret to snagging the men?"

"Absolutely fucking nothing." Alex burst out cackling as Virgil beamed happily. "That's what I did anyway. Roman came running on his own."

"My dads are RIDICULOUS!" Virgil stopped short instantly the moment that sentence left the demi's lips. Alex was in a fit of complete giggles as he struggled to breathe. "You two are going to be the death of me, that's for sure."

"A-A-Al-lex?" Alex frowned as he turned back to see the tears in Virgil's glowing eyes. "What? W-Wait... What?"

"Virgil? Are you ok?"

"You..." Virgil shook as he just stood there staring at the man before him. "You said dads. As in... A-As in Roman and I... We... Dads?"

"Well, of course, Virgil." Virgil broke tears spilling, making Alex worried he said something wrong. "Virgil is something wrong? Why are you crying?"

"You called us dad's."

"Well, you made me a demi. You are my god Virgil." Virgil nodded slowly as Alex slowly walked over and took his hand to help ground him. "And you are with Roman... obviously I would see BOTH of you as my parents... unless... you don't want to be..."

"NO!" Virgil jumped shaking his head before smiling brightly. "I mean... I mean yes. I just... I just didn't think you wanted that. I... I've always considered a god's child to be the demi they create. We... We can't have children so... Oh god. Roman... What would he say? He doesn't even remember me. He doesn't remember us. He doesn't..."

"Virgil, breathe." Virgil gasped as he gripped Alex's arms tightly trying to calm himself down. Alex glanced up and frowned noticing how bright it was out. "We should open your umbrella, Virgil. With you so upset I don't want you crashing because of the light."

"Yeah... Yeah, maybe you're..." Virgil froze, eyes dazed and focused solely on the thing before him. He tensed as he pushed himself out of Alex's arms and just... he felt completely empty. "Hello there." Virgil lulled softly as he smiled down at the little girl before him. He glanced up at the woman who was with her nodding lightly as he knelt down and placed his hands in his lap. "My name is Virgil. What's your's?"

"Grandma?" The girl shot the woman a worried look who just chuckled softly.

"It's ok. He won't hurt you." The girl smiled as she turned back to Virgil hugging her toy tightly.

"I'm Lily."

"Hi, Lily." Virgil spoke so sweetly it was as if he was singing. "That's a very lovely toy you have there." Her eyes went wide as she nodded and hugged it even closer. "Where'd you get it?"

"It was a gift."

"Oh?" Lily nodded again as she held it up with a beaming grin. "And would it be alright if I asked... from who?"

"This really nice man gave it to me." Virgil's heart dropped as the girl just giggled. "He helped me find my grandma when I was lost. Said I could keep it to help me when I'm scared."

"Did he say his name?" The girl's face scrunched up in thought for a bit as Virgil eyed the toy down. There was no mistaking it at all. Not the glittery scales... not the black under those pure azure eyes... especially not the fire emblem on the side... That was flounder. His... Roman's flounder.

"He said he was Roman. My momma told me about him. Said he was a really nice man... A god of the island." Virgil just slowly stood back up, eyes glowing as Lily hugged flounder as she swayed happily. "He was really really kind."

"Thank you, Lily. I'm glad my friend could help you." Her eyes lit up as Virgil nodded slightly to the woman before walking off. Alex frowned seeing the way Virgil just walked off.

"Virgil..." Suddenly Virgil seemed to be gone. Well not really, as he can't teleport now that he wasn't a god. What really happened was his emotions took over and this explosion of black crashed around him. He took off running as fast as he could disappearing before the black could fade away.

"ROMAN?!" Virgil burst into the house, eyes scanning everything as he searched. His heart was hammering in his chest. He could hardly breathe. "Hades?" Virgil whispered, knowing his friend was always watching him. "Hades... where is he?" This rush of wind surrounded him making Virgil melt into the calming familiarity of it. His eyes shot up seeing a cool blue light coming from the kitchen and he snapped. He ran in only to find Roman on the floor and he couldn't stop himself from cracking. "Roman?" His voice broke as he fell to his knees pulling the other into his lap as he cried.

"Love?" He brushed his hair and cringed at how slicked with sweat it was. Roman was ghostly pale, his face sunken in, and he was barely breathing at all. Virgil knew he wasn't dying. Gods can't die... but it made no difference in the end. Not when Roman was still suffering. "I've got you, Princey. I've got you. Please... Please wake up."

"Please be ok." Virgil broke down holding him tightly unable to move off the cold floor and everything just crashed. "I love you... I love you so much. Please... Please wake up." Virgil groaned as he looked around, the reality of everything filing in. He pushed himself up and carefully carried the god into the bedroom placing him onto the bed. "I'm going to have to figure out a way to keep this from happening..." Virgil laughed at himself brokenly as he crawled over the man and just cuddled into him praying he was still able to help him with his contact. "Something small... something you can keep on you... I just... I can't have you hurting because I'm not there. Roman, you stupid moron..." Virgil kissed his hand softly as he cried even more. "You sweet caring yet stupid stupid prince. You knew giving that away would only hurt you... you should have told me. You should have... I'm so sorry."

"Please just... feel that I'm here." Virgil cuddled in closer as he started to shake himself. "Please wake up."
