"That's not going to happen." Everyone froze instantly at the immense overwhelming demonic aura that erupted into the room. Damien stood in the doorway holding his walking stick with a very prideful smirk. Colt winced under the heavy demonic presence making Roman step out in front of him to try and shield him. Damien's smirk only grew as his eyes slowly trailed the three before him before stopping at the sight of his twin's ashes. "Oh, dear... Well, isn't that a shame?"
"Damien..." Roman growled, trying to hide how he shuddered under the demon's complete disregard of his own family.
"It's Dark now, please. We may be enemies but a name is a name after all." Roman's growl only worsened as he hugged Virgil closer to his chest. The vile look in the demons eye's sparked a sudden chill down his spine.
"Colt... Take Virgil."
"What?" Colt's eyes were wide as Roman just continued to stare Dark down. Neither Demon nor God moved, keeping the other in their straights as to not miss any vital twitches that could signal a sudden attack. "Roman-..."
"Take Virgil, Lad. I'll be alright." Colt frowned but let Roman shimmy Virgil into his arms so that neither he nor Colt had their back to the demon. Dark's grin just widened, fingers twitching slightly the second Colt took a step back. "Shit!" Roman quickly jumped in front of the demon, shoving Colt back behind him and making him fall with a thud, as he summoned his sword in a flash of light, catching the other's blade before he could hurt anyone.
"You know Colt..." Dark hissed with a vile smirk, making Roman growl as the god pushed against the demon's blade farther. Dark's eyes seemed to bore right through the god before him, right into Colt's soul who stood there frozen under the weight over such a powerful clashing aura. "Our father was so heartbroken when you ran off."
"Mark is NOT his father." Roman's fire flared as he kicked Dark back who only laughed as he slid across the floor still on his feet. He brushed his suit before letting his darkness spread out around him, making both Colt and Virgil whimper against it all. Roman paled as he went to lash out again, anything to stop his loved ones from getting hurt, however, Dark just blinked out, vanishing from sight. The darkness spread even more before wrapping around Roman making the god scream out as his entire body felt like it was put on ice.
"ROMAN!" Colt cried out trying to run to help, only to get jerked back and find a sword against his neck. Dark grinned psychotically as Colt struggled just to stay on his feet, the room spinning around him. "D-Damien..."
"It's Dark." Colt stumbled back, eyes darting to Virgil who was clearly trying to get up to help him but couldn't fight against the aura. Dark growled making Colt suck in a breath, continuing to stumble back and trying to lead the demon away from the vulnerable ex-god. "It's true though, you know? Our Father really was heartbroken, you know. He just could not understand why you ran. He died thinking you abandoned your family."
"You were never my family." Dark's eyes narrowed as Colt clenched his fist tightly at his sides. "What kind of a father called for his son's death?"
"Oh no, he didn't call for your death." Colt stopped short as Dark just laughed. "No, see Mark wanted you to come home so he could fix your rebelliousness but he did not want you dead." Dark's eyes shined as his darkness fluxed around him. "He just wanted you taken in. However, what Mark didn't know wouldn't hurt him. If you were, oh I don't know, killed by the gods you tried to save? Well... Mark wouldn't have thought twice about it. They are just monstrous gods after all."
"You're sick." Dark just shrugged as Colt seemed to crash. "You tried to kill me. You killed Mark. Don't deny it-..."
"No, that was Celine. She drove the blade right through him with a smile on her face. I simply mentioned it would help me and she followed through without the slightest hesitation. It's a pity such a loyal and dependable sycophant had to die." Dark sighed before twirling his sword with another shrugged. "So be it. There will always be others willing to serve..." Dark's eyes trailed the shivering form of his so-called brother and he laughed. "... and more people to squash under my boot... people like YOU!" Dark lunged only for his sword to get knocked out of the way with a loud clash, a man of shadows suddenly appearing in front of Colt. Dark growled as the man spun his staff around him before putting himself in a defensive stance. "Looks like the little mouse finally dropped in. The man's black eyes narrowed shadows seeping out from under his clothes and around his hands.
"Ná déan teagmháil leis. (Do not touch him.) The man hissed stepping out more to block Colt, whose knees buckled under him despite how he refused to fall.
"Ah... The Mouse speaks Gaelic." Dark smiled as his grip tightened around the hilt of his sword. "You're a bit late to the party, Mouse." Dark shifted back, making the man tense up as if expecting an attack, only to falter at the large cloud of darkness Dark pointed to. "I've already captured one of your own." The sound of Roman's screams made Colt jump only for the man to hold his arm out to stop him.
"That's my father!" Colt yelled making the man look back at him with a sad understanding.
"He cannot die." Colt's eyes darkened before glancing over at Virgil who knelt there on the ground eyeing the darkness, black tears in his eyes. "We all can. We need to focus on staying alive first before we can save him."
"No." Colt turned back to Dark with this glint in his eyes. "No. You protect Virgil."
"Colt-..." Colt's eyes flashed, lightning sparking off his hands, as he glared the demon down, only making the man before him worried. "Let me handle him, you have no tolerance to his aura."
"I'm a demi of family." The man crashed with a nod as Colt's lightning branched off around him in scarp arches creating a sort of barrier around him. "I'm not just going to stand here and allow MY FAMILY to suffer." Dark pouted with a faux look of betrayal as the man tried to refocus his attention on Virgil.
"Oh, that just hurts, brother dear. Haven't you heard the saying 'blood is thicker than water'?"
"It's the 'Blood of the covenant, Bitch." Dark just shrugged before lashing out making Colt sidestep out of the way. The man quickly ran to Virgil, seeing how dazed the poor ex-god was.
"Ní mór duit a fháil ar bun." (You need to get up.) Virgil's eyes darkened as the man gently pulled his arms up, seeing the black tears painting the ex-god's face so thick with grim, he wondered if they would ever truly get off his skin. "Le do thoil. Le do thoil, éirigh." (Please. Please get up.)
"Roman."
"He'll be fine-..."
"No. No, he won't be. That darkness is too thick-..." Virgil jumped as he was hoisted onto his feet, face to face with the man's pitch-black eyes. "He's alone. He can't be alone."
"He isn't alone." The man gestured with his head to show Virgil how Colt was slowly inching closer and closer to where the sounds of Roman's screaming were coming from. "However, if anything happens to you, you KNOW, Roman would lose it. So please... let me help you."
