(TW~ Main Character Death)

"The world is dying." Virgil's eyes went wide as Thomas's eyes filled with pain. "And there's nothing I can do to fix it. So all this... with you... with him... it doesn't matter."

"What are you talking about?" Roman frowned as his eyes darted over to Virgil who was shaking.

"The corruption." Roman's eyes went wide as Thomas frowned. "Roman, I told you. The corruption..."

"No." Virgil's eyes narrowed in confusion as Roman's eyes flashed black. "No! No... You have to fix it. It's your... my fault. It's my fault. Fuck..."

"Ro?" Roman shook his head as he teared up making Virgil really worried. "Can someone please tell me what's going on?!"

"The corruption is happening because..." Thomas's eyes darkened as Virgil frowned in realization. "My heart isn't where it's supposed to be."

"So it's my fault?"

"No, Love... It's mine." Virgil shook his head as he glared between the two.

"No, it's not." Virgil laughed as his hand went to his chest, feeling his heart beating. "Thomas, you gave me your heart so that I could live."

"And it wouldn't have mattered if I had raised you." This crushing weight fell over top of them as Thomas just stared at the ground. "Yes, the corruption would have happened regardless... but if I raised you in that room as I had planned, I would've been able to teach you how to keep it from ever getting bad. You would've been able to stop it before it ever got this bad. Now there is literally nothing I can do."

"No." Virgil crashed as he everything came crumbling around him. "No you have to... My island. My father, Logan... What about the people at gaurdwell... and Remy?!"

"I'm sorry. There's no way I can fix this. It's already to late."

"There has to be something." Thomas's eyes darkened and Virgil froze up seeing the pain spark through the demon. "There is, isn't there?"

"No. No there isn't..."

"There is, you're just not saying." Thomas cringed at the distortion in Virgil's voice as he glared over at him. "What is it?"

"I can't fix it... And you're not strong enough to do such a large scale purification." Thomas refused to meet his gaze as he started to cry. "The only way to reverse the corruption... would be with the heart."

"So tell me how!"

"You can't!" Virgil's eyes went wide as Thomas just shook his head. "I told you... You aren't strong enough. The world is going to die and that's just fact. The only thing we can hope to do is wait it out. Everything else will parish but maybe one day you will get strong enough to fix it all and then we can just reset."

"No. We need to fix this. My island... MY FRIENDS!"

"Virgil, I'm not going to let you die!" Thomas slapped a hand over his mouth as Virgil just quirked a brow at him.

"So that's it?" Thomas filled with pain and horror as Virgil glanced over to see the complete terror on Roman's face. "I'm not strong enough... and the only way to fix it is with the heart. Meaning... I have to give the heart back."

"NO!" Roman roared fire bursting out as Virgil just frowned. "No! Virgil, you can't. You can't do that."

"I can't billion's of people die, Roman." Virgil ignored how red and black Roman's eyes were as he just held his necklace tightly.

"No, Virgil. I can't allow that. Virgil, please. I love you. I love you don't..."

"Thomas, take me back."
