When I woke up I did my usual routine before heading to the hospital. I was put on Addison's service along with Izzie. "Dorie, this is Dr. Stevens and Dr. Y/l/n. They'll be working with us on this case." Addison told her.
"Oh, the more the merrier." Dorie said to us.
"Apparently. How far along are you?" Iz asked her.
"32 weeks." She answered.
"Not long now then." I said to her with a smile.
"And how long is a normal gestation period?" Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd asked us.
"40 weeks." Izzie said to her.
"But with twins, 36 weeks is considered full term." I said to her.
"So with Quints, 34 weeks is considered extremely successful." Izzie said finishing everything off.
"Well, just give them some acetaminophen. It's in the medicine cabinet." Mr. Russell said from the corridor.
"I plan on going 36 weeks. No one's leaving this uterus until I say so." Mrs. Russell said making me smile.
"The power of positive thinking, huh?" Addison asked her.
"Well, That, bed rest and all the medical care you can give me." Mrs. Russell said to us with a smile.
"We're with the doctors now, so I'll talk to you later. Okay, bye." Mr. Russell said before hanging up the phone and walking into the room. "Uh, Adam's got a fever, which means soon they'll all have a fever. I don't think my mom's gonna make it through lunch." Mr. Russell told his wife.
"We have 4-year-old boys at home- -Adam, Oliver and Graham." She told us.
"Triplets? You already have triplets?" I asked them surprised.
"Oh, I guess when you take those fertility pills, you should really read the fine print." Izzie told her.
"Dr. Stevens." Addison told her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just, I meant it as a- -" Iz started before Dorie cut her off.
"It's okay. I'm used to it. I just really wanted a girl." She said to us making me smile, I couldn't help but wonder if my unborn child would've been a girl or boy. But it that really didn't matter. My pager went off distracting me from my thoughts.
"I better take this. Sorry." I said to Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd.
"Go, respond to your page." She said to me with a smile. I saw Dr. Torres.
"I have a multiple hip fracture, you want in?" She asked me with a smile.
"Of course I do." I said to her. We took Mrs. Shaw down to surgery and scrubbed in for the surgery, I smiled throughout the whole time. Callie was a good mentor. When the surgery was over we had a quick discussion.
"I'm gonna tell you what I told you last time. You have a promising future in ortho." She told me as we left the scrub room.
"Thank you. I'm hoping to pursue it in the future." I told her before we went separate ways. I bumped into George and he told me all about the quints. We went to the stairway and saw Mer sat on the stairs.
"You hear about the quints?" George asked her.
"Yeah, I heard." She answered.
"I'm just gonna leave you two to talk." I said to them before heading to Mrs. Russell's room. I knew that they were going to talk about Steve and I didn't want to be there for that talk. My pager went off for 9-1-1 so I just ran straight there. "Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd I'm back." I said to her with a smile. She was giving Mrs. Russell an ultrasound. Izzie walked in.
