46. Don't Stand So Close To Me

I was looking forward to going to work today, hopefully I could get a good case. When I got up I had a shower and changed before getting a slice of toast for breakfast. Ken wasn't up yet and I didn't want to wake her up. I went to the locker room and changed but I noticed that Cristina and George weren't there. "Maybe she'll be on 'look but don't touch' patrol, too. At least I'd have some company." Izzie told us, we were currently talking about Cristina and the situation she'd got herself into.

"Whatever she gets, I hope it's bad, really bad." Alex said while putting his doctors coat on.

"She made a mistake." Mer said to them.

"A mistake?" George asked us. I didn't even realise he got here.

"It could've been anyone." I said to them all.

"She was gonna let Burke- -Burke with the shaky hand- -operate on my father." George told us, it went quiet and she walked in. We all just looked at her.

"Could you stop looking at me like that? It's creepy, and it makes me feel like you haven't been fed." She told George. I followed him, Iz and Alex into the hallway. We were ready for rounds but of course Mer and Cristina were late. We all started following Bailey after they joined us.

"Dr. Bailey, can I have Grey?" Addison asked Bailey.

"You can have 'em all." Bailey told her before we continued walking. We arrived at Mr. O'Malleys room.

"Hi, mom." George said as we entered the room.

"Honey, oh." Mrs. O'Malley said while pulling him into a hug. "I put out some breakfast in case you kids haven't eaten yet." She told us, we all smiled.

"Score." Alex said before turning to get some.

"Karev." Bailey said stopping him, the other O'Malley brothers walked in the room.

"Hey, ready for the big day, pops?" One of them asked.

"Mm, food." The other said before before of them started walking over there. Dr. Hahn walked in the room next.

"All right, lets make this fast, people. I have a day. Which two of the interns is mine?" She asked us, so two of us were gonna be with Mr. O'Malley, I was hoping it would be just so George knew that everything would be fine because I'd be here.

"It's mine. He's family, and she's a candy striper." Alex said, I was just going to stay quiet.

"I'm ready." Iz said to Bailey.

"What is you did pick me? What if you picked me?" George asked her rhetorically.

"Pick me!" George's brothers said I think their called Ronny and Jerry if I remember correctly.

"Guys, this is serious." George said shutting them up.

"Yang and Y/l/n." Bailey said.

"What?" We all said except from Cristina. I was glad that I was doing it but wouldn't it make sense if I was with Iz or Alex.

"Dr. Hahn, Cristina is very good with cardio. And Y/n's mother is the one and only, Kasia Y/l/n, so she has some skill in cardio. I'm sure you can use them for the day." Bailey said before handing the case file to Cristina. "What are you waiting for, Yang? Present the case." Bailey said to her.

"Harold O'Malley, 63, diagnosed with esophageal cancer and severe aortic regurge, is scheduled for aortic valve replacement this afternoon." Cristina said presenting the case. After she was done they all left. Dr. Hahn went somewhere just leaving me and Cristina and the O'Malley's.

"You're another one of George's best friends, Y/n, I don't think we've met." Mrs. O'Malley said to me.

"I don't think we have, I've kinda been here, there and everywhere. But it's so great to meet both of you, I just wish that it was under different circumstances." I said with a smile, Mrs. and Mr. O'Malley both shared a smile.
