35. Deterioration of the Fight or Flight Response- part 2 of 3

I stood and stared at what Izzie had done. Sometimes people did the stupidest things for love or for family and friends. I couldn't believe the lengths Izzie would go, to save Denny. "Izzie." George said to her as the monitor was beating erratically.

"His heart is barely beating. Izzie, we have to call a code." I said to her as George went to check for a plus.

"I can't feel a pulse. Izzie, we need to call a code." George told her while putting the oxygen mask on him.

"No! I have a plan." She said to us, I was hoping that she did.

"But he's crashing. We need to call the code." I said to her I went to push the code button but she held me and George back.

"No! If we call a code, they will rush him to surgery and replace his LVAD, and then he will stabilize. He needs to get worse if he's gonna get this heart." She said to us, she sounded crazy.

"Izzie, this is crazy." George told us, Izzie was doing something to Denny.

"He has to get this heart. He will die waiting for another chance. You know he will." Izzie told us, since she was distracted I was going to attempt to call a code.

"We need to call a code!" I shouted at her.

"No!" She shouted before pushing the two of us. "Either of you press that code button, I will hurt you. Not a lot, 'cause we're friends. But enough so that things will break, and you both lie on the floor our of my way." She said to us, I wasn't scared of her. I group in a rough part of London, it was the place where people would carry knives everyday.

"Izzie..." George said while grasping both of her wrists.

"You both have a decision to make. You can stay here and help me with this, or you can both go. What's it gonna be, George and Y/n?" She asked us with glazed eyes. We decided to help her with the whole Denny situation. I may get my license taken away but she was in a bad state. Cristina was right, Izzie was the kind of person to shoot this hospital up. Izzie was pumping up Denny whereas me and George were on lookout duty. Meredith came in seeming as George paged her.

"George's page said it was an emergency. What's going on?" Meredith said coming into the room. George quickly shut the door.

"You paged Meredith?" Izzie asked us both.

"Izzie, we need help okay!" I shouted at her.

"What the hell is going on?" Meredith asked, the door opened again and Cristina walked in. I quickly shut the door.

"What the hell is going on?" Cristina asked while looking at the scene.

"Exactly what I said." Meredith told him. Me and George gave The Who's-telling-them-look. We decided for it to be George.

"She cut his LVAD wires." George told them in a raised voice.

"What do you mean, you cut his LVAD wires?" Meredith asked her.

"Are you trying to kill him?" Cristina asked while walking around the room.

"I'm trying to save him. All I have to do is confirm that his condition is worse. And then Burke can call U.N.O.S. and he'll move up the list and he will get his heart." Izzie said to Cristina, mainly to all of us.

"About Burke- -" Cristina started but I cut her off.

"Please tell me that we're not the only ones who think she's gone insane, right?" I asked the all as I moved to stand behind Meredith.

"About Burke- -" Cristina started again before Izzie cut her off.

"Everything will be fine!" She shouted at the 4 of us.
