My pager went off and I went to go back to the hospital, when I got there I went to where I needed to be. That was the room with Susan in. "You're back? What happened?" Mer asked as she walked into the room. Susan had a fever. Bailey had caught me up to speed and this definitely wasn't the hiccups.
"She's got a fever, and I think I hear a small murmur. I paged Dr. Y/l/n for backup." Bailey told Mer.
"A heart murmur?" Mr. Grey asked us, unfortunately the answer was yes.
"Don't be dramatic. At least it's not the hiccups." Susan said, yeah at least it wasn't those annoying things.
"It may be a complication from the endoscopic." I said to Bailey getting an approving nod.
"Bacterial endocarditis?" Mer asked getting a nod from Bailey.
"You'll have to get tests, and if they come back positive, you'll be admitted for I.V. antibiotics." Bailey told her with a smile, I was just hoping that whatever happens Susan will be alright.
"Which should knock it right out." Mer told them.
"See? I told you don't be dramatic." Susan told Thatcher before kissing him, I just smiled at them. It was nice that they were happy. It felt odd that I was going to be a resident real soon. It was too early, I still feel like I should be in med school. Once we'd finished up here I went upstairs to see Kennedy.
"What are you doing here, I thought that you were with Cristina." She said to me with a smile.
"Well, I got paged to come back and seeming as I'm not really allowed to do anything I thought that you could test me on some subjects that are gonna be in my exam." I said to her with smile.
"But if you get a question wrong. I get to steal some of your chocolate that you keep stashed in your room." She said to me as we walked over to the seating area.
"Fine, but you're not getting my maltesers." I said to her.
"But those are the best ones." She said to me with a fake pout. I hit her lightly, she questioned me for a while until I left her to get back at her job. I saw George and I told him about the massive mess that was the shopping. I was hoping that he knew something about what was happening with Callie and Izzie but he was as clueless as what I was.
"I mean, we've always known that they don't get along that well but why are they acting different now." I said to him confusedly.
"It's just something that we'll never understand." He said to me before I had to split off and go to Susan's room to check in on her with Mer.
"Someday you'll have to explain to me how antibiotics actually work. They are miraculous." Susan said making us smile at her.
"Good afternoon. Uh, Dr. Bailey asked me to look in. Everything looks good. We are going to take you to radiology to get a central line to continue your I.V. antibiotics outpatient." Webber said coming into the room and talking with her. What happened's if there is something seriously wrong here but we're just missing the signs.
"Okay. Hey, will you show your dad the cafeteria?" Susan asked Meredith.
"Sure. We're on to you, you know? She's faking this so that we can talk." Meredith told Susan before telling me. At least it was working though and they are in fact talking.
"What?" She asked as she was being wheeled out the room, the three of us split off and went our own ways. I found Alex and he was telling me about the progress with Ava. She had a brain bleed and they were hoping that she would get her meme out back but it never happened.
