When I woke up this morning I decided to just get washed and changed then leave for work. Yes, I work up at 5 but it didn't bother me in the slightest bit. I was hoping to get a good case today. I went to the locker room, changed and ate an apple for breakfast. I then decided to just read my book seeming as there wasn't any incoming traumas. When Mer and George came in they told me that Izzie was outside. That was a big move, especially since it was where Denny died. "I'm on my knees in a puddle of coffee, and he's lying on the couch playing with himself. You know, and not in a good way." Cristina told us as we were walking through the hallway.
"But he's recovering from surgery, and you've read the studies on recovery and depression in surgical patients." Meredith said to her, she must've right.
"Well, he's not a patient. He's Preston Burke. He's just milking it. You know, he's got me fetching his food and the paper and his slippers like I'm a dog." Cristina said while pressing the button to summon the elevator.
"Hey." Derek said to Mer.
"Hi. I had a dream about you last night." Meredith said to him with a smile.
"You did?" Derek asked her, she hummed in response. "What was I doing, bringing you coffee?" He asked her. Me and Cristina looked at each other.
"You were definitely not bringing me coffee. But coffee's good." Meredith said to him, me and Cristina just wanted to leave already.
"I'm told dating starts with a casual invitation over a cup of coffee?" He asked making me roll my eyes.
"Does it?" Meredith asked him with a smile.
"So, Meredith, would you like to go out to dinner with me tonight? How was that?was that casual enough? That was good, right?" He asked, me and Cristina hummed in response. "No?" He asked we still both hummed in response.
"So we're dating." Meredith said with a smile.
"We're dating. Pick you up at 8:00." Derek said before walking away. Me and Cristina walked over to Mer, we heard the elevator ding and I saw Finn walk out.
"Hey." Meredith said to him.
"I was in the neighborhood. Actually, I wasn't. But I decided you were worth a detour." He said to her, I wanted to die. I couldn't go through another awkward talk.
"I had a dream about you last night." She said to him, what was this dream about.
"Was it a good dream?" He asked her with a smile.
"It was." She said to him.
"And what was I doing?" He asked her with a smirk.
"Yeah, Mer, what exactly was he doing?" I asked her with a smirk.
"It's for you. It's coffee cake- -best in the northwest. Figure I better soften you up so that when I ask you to dinner tonight, you have to say yes." He said to her with a smile. I could just eat some cake right now.
"Uh, dinner tonight? How about that? Are you free tonight, Meredith?" Cristina asked her, I needed to be heading to my patient right now but this was more intriguing.
"Actually, uh, I'm not free tonight." Mer said to him with a smile.
"Well, how about lunch? I could come here." He said to her, was I hearing right.
"You're volunteering to eat hospital food?" Meredith asked him, so I wasn't the only one who heard that.
"I love crappy food." He said to us, what a weird man.
"1:00?" Meredith asked him.
"I'll be here." He said to her, I was extremely confused by this man.
