It was a fresh day. Izzie still wasn't coming to work. When I got to work I changed immediately and my new days. I decided to start my day sorting a few bits of paperwork with Mer. Cristina was having a go at Tyler. "I told you to guard the door!" She said to him in a raised voice.
"I had a code blue." Tyler said to her.
"I had parents walk in." Cristina said back.
"We saved the guy's life." Tyler said back to her.
"Whatever. You know, I want 20 bucks back." Cristina said, that was rookie mistake. Never pay anyone until they come through with their word.
"Sorry. Bought everyone coffee...to celebrate saving the guy's life." Tyler said while walking away.
"Yeah, I want my 20 bucks back." Cristina called after him, me and Mer looked at her.
"It's not Tyler's fault you're a dirty, dirty stripper." Meredith said to her quickly.
"You heard." Cristina said to us.
"I think everybody heard." I said to her as we both walked over to her.
"Stripper." Meredith said with a half smile.
"Oh, oh, you're one to talk, sleeping with two men." Cristina said to her.
"Wrong. I'm not sleeping with either of them...not until I pick one. If I haven't made a decision by the end of the day, I'm flipping a coin. A girl can only hold out for so long." Meredith said stating a fact.
"Oh, and somehow I'm the dirty stripper? Huh." Cristina said to her. Bailey walked over to us.
"You three have time to round, or are you too busy getting naked on hospital property?" Bailey said, I bit my lip to stop me from laughing.
"No, I wasn't naked. I-I wasn't naked." Cristina said as we walked away and followed Bailey. The others joined us.
"Ms. Seabury, what- -What are- -no, I'm- -I'm sorry. You cannot be eating." Bailey said as we saw Ms. Seabury was eating cake.
"What is all of this?" Webber asked her.
"This is chocolate raspberry soufflé cake. It is the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. Except for maybe the banana cream torte there. It's pretty stunning, really. Bakeries deliver. Did you know that? Please, grab a fork." She said to us, I would love to but unfortunately I couldn't.
"Ms. Seabury, you're scheduled for surgery this afternoon." Webber told her with his hands in his hips.
"We push the surgery a little. Tomorrow, maybe? Oh, my god. You've gotta taste this." She said to us, it was so tempting.
"Ma'am, you have an aggressive form of lung cancer. The sooner we get you into surgery, the better your chances- -" Bailey started before she got cut off.
"The better my chances of surviving. So I heard. It's all very aggressive. I mean, it's very..." Ms. Seabury said before laughing. "It's funny." She added before continuing to laugh. "I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. I have never smoked pot. I've never drank. Before today, I hadn't had dessert in ten years. I am the picture of health, and I have lung cancer. I mean, come on. It's absurd, right? I'm sorry. I think I'm on a sugar high. I'm sorry." She said while laughing, it made me smile. We followed Webber out the room.
"O'Malley, reschedule her surgery for tomorrow and get her a psych consult." Webber said to him, I don't think she needed anyone from psych.
"Yes, sir." George said to him as Webber began to walk away.
