I was officially having trouble sleeping. Why you may be asking. It's because I've been revising too much because I was stressing about the exam. I knew that I shouldn't be but I couldn't help it. I was only getting like 4 hours of sleep a day and then I was going straight to work. I was at work now just drinking my cup of coffee and changing. Me and Callie were consulting a patient, we were done so she pulled the curtain back and there was Cristina with not only her mother but Burke's mother as well.
"Oh, hi." Callie said to her with a smile.
"Hi." I said to her with a smile.
"Hello." Cristina said to us, she sounded dead inside.
"Someone have bones that need resetting or..." Callie said while looking at them.
"Bridesmaids." I heard Cristina say faintly.
"Excuse me?" Me and Callie asked at the same time.
"Bridesmaids. My mother and...Burke's mother have been talking on the phone, and now they are here...with me." Cristina told us. I'm guessing that me and Callie were going to be her bridesmaids.
"To plan the wedding." Ms. Rubenstien told us.
"Oh." Callie got out.
"Cristina led us to believe that you were friends." Mrs. Burke said making Callie laugh.
"Since day 1 of our internship." I said with a smile.
"Okay. I guess." Callie responded.
"Good. It's settled." Mrs. Burke said, Cristina was humming in response. The three of us laughed. Ms.Rubenstien went over to Callie and started taking waist measurements.
"Uh, whoa. Wait. Um...what are you- -are you- -are you...you actually asking me to be- -" Callie started before Cristina cut her off. It wouldn't be long until my measurements were taken.
"To be one of my bridesmaids? Yeah." Cristina said, we were all mouthing at each other. Once Callie's measurements were taken it was my go. I hated every minute of it. There was gonna need to be some serious payback for this. I walked off and then found Iz and told her about this morning. We went to the station and saw Cristina and Mer.
"I switched my hours at the clinic so I can go to the bridal shop. Yay!" Iz told her happily, I had to clear anything I had going for me today.
"Did she just cheer? She just cheered." Cristina said to Meredith.
"It seems like someone's not being very bride-y today." I said to her.
"I am not a bride. I am a surgeon." Cristina said to us. When I was a bride I was a student so I don't see why can't be both.
"Don't tease the caged animal." Meredith told us and I nodded, I wasn't dreaming of it.
"You're not excited? I'm excited. I love weddings. Weddings are all about hope and the future." Iz said making me laugh.
"Mine weren't." I said to her.
"Okay. I rescheduled an A.C.L. repair, but I wanna be clear. I will not be wearing pink or baby blue. I do not do flowers in my hair. And I will never be seen with a bow on my ass, okay?" Callie said while approaching us, I was officially calling us the bridal squad. Because that's what we were at the end of the day.
"See? She's got the right attitude." Cristina said making us laugh. "Thank you very much." Cristina told her.
"Hey." Mer said to her dad.
"Hey." He said back to her. I saw them both walk off.
"Callie's a bridesmaid?" Iz asked in confusion. I could not deal with an argument today.
"Yeah." Cristina said to her, there was something off with Iz and Callie to now. This was too much.
"Yeah, Ca- -yes, of course. Callie's a bridesmaid. Fun." Iz said changing her tune and fake laughing.
"Yeah. Yeah." Callie said twice in a near whisper. We all dispersed and went our own ways. Me and Callie were just working on giving consults out and of course doing any surgery we could.
~~~~~~~~
Last night was horrible, we had that dinner that my sister had been planning. But my dad decided to invite over one of his interns, one Mr. Jackson Avery. Yeah, if I knew that was happening I would've invited one of my mentors. Today we were wedding dress shopping, I was shoved into a blue dress. I heard the door open behind and I looked back.
"Uh, Cristina." I heard Burke say, I then saw her walk over and pull him over to us. He wasn't supposed to be here, it's bad luck. I was just looking in the mirror, I didn't like this dress in the slightest. I mean, I love blue but this dress really wasn't cutting it for me. I looked like blueberry. That's the only way I could put it.
"I am not wearing this." Callie said to us, I preferred Izzie's dress over everyone's. I heard Mer's pager go off.
"Oh, I gotta get to the hospital." Meredith said before going into the changing room. I was just thinking how long until I can do the same. When I did bridal shopping, I already had the dresses chosen out, they were red. A nice shade of red, it was the same shade as a few red wines you could get. But of course this was Cristina's wedding and not mine.
"This is too tight, I'm suffocating in this dress." I said to them while trying to pull it off my body, so I could breath.
"You know, we should, uh, give 'em some privacy." Callie said while looking at me and Iz, that did make a lot sense.
"What?" Iz asked confusedly. "Oh! Oh, you want me to go over there with you...just us." Iz said to us, she was now acting even more differently around Callie. It had to be about George. Callie has always known that George is like an older brother to me seeming as he practically treats me like the little sister he never had.
"Yeah." I said to her.
"Okay." Iz said, we walked over to the other side of the room and just looked at all the other dresses. There were so many more nicer dresses than the ones we were wearing. So far we hadn't go anything sorted out but fingers crossed something goes right soon.
