It was one of those days again, one of those days that I knew something was wrong. While I was changing at home I was playing music, once I was done I started dancing. I wasn't the best at dance. It's not like I was trained in it. When I got to work I did the usual thing before we all had to go into a room because Mark was doing a speech. "Okay, ladies and gentlemen, this is Nick Hanscomb." Mark started.

"Hi." Nick said to us.

"Nick was lucky enough to have me remove a large carotid body tumor from his neck. The fact that I was able to get clean boundaries is pretty darn impressive even for me." Mark said while showing us the incision marking.

"Congratulations." Alex said speaking up.

"Don't interrupt. Now despite the fact that it was a wildly successful surgery. We had to dissect out deep lymph nodes in his neck. There is now only a delicate flap of skin between his carotid artery and the outside world. That said, what am I worried about?" Mark said to us, there was a lot of things to be worried about.

"I would think given the friablity of the skin. That there's a great possibility that the, um, the artery could blow?" Cristina answered unsure for once.

"Right." Mark said to us.

"Oh, don't worry. I've- -I've heard this before." Nick said to us, like it would bring us a sense of comfort.

"If that happens. Whoever's in the room, I don't care if it's a doctor, a nurse, an orderly, your job is to stop the bleeding then page me, in that order. Are we clear? Any questions?" Mark said to us, we all nodded. Understanding what would happen if everything went a bit pear shaped.

"They look scared." I heard Nick say to Mark.

"They're medical professionals, Nick. A healthy level of fear is encouraged." Mark said to him, that was very much true.

'Okay, then. Uh, if I do die. It will have been lovely meeting you all." Nick said to us, he seemed like a very sweet guy.

"See? The patient if confident. You should be confident. That's it." Mark said to us, after that we all left the room. I was paged for a trauma along with Cristina, Iz and Mer. We were accompanied by Bailey and Callie.

"What do we got?" Bailey asked as we were walking to the ambulance.

"Jacob Nolston, 47, status post a double bypass surgery two weeks ago. Now presents febrile with pain and tenderness in his surgical incisions." One of the two medics told us.

"We got a 10-car pileup on the freeway. You mind taking him from here?" The other one asked us, we'd be fine they just needed to get back to the scene and start helping the others.

"Oh, you got it." Bailey said while taking the file.

"Okay, I need a gurney for the transfer." Callie shouted.

"I'll page Hahn." Iz and Cristina said at the same time, me and Mer were just keeping quiet.

"Sounds like we all agree. Get him inside and flip for it." Bailey said to us.

"You're in good hands, Mr. Nolston." The first paramedic said to him.

"Thank you, gentlemen." Mr. Nolston said.

"On three. One, two, three." Cristina said before we transferred him onto the gurney. "When are you gonna realize you're in over your head?" Cristina asked Iz, now was not the time to argue.

"When are you gonna realize that you don't own the cardio department?" Iz asked, me and Mer stopped because we heard tyres squeaking. We looked and saw another ambulance coming.
