It had been 10 days which meant the nurses were going on strike. So today was going to feel weird. When I got there they were all chanting 'fair wages! Fair hours!' me and Kennedy looked at each other. "Ken, they are throwing food." I said to her.
"We can do it." She said to me. We both looked at each other and walked behind each other. When I changed Iz, Alex and Cristina were all in the locker room. Cristina was telling us about this one guy. We went over to one of the desks and he walked past us,
"Iz, Iz. Uh...that's him. He's published twice, and he's flawless." She said to us. We were all taking guesses of who our new resident would be seeming as Bailey was on maternity leave.
"Oh, I don't want that guy. That guy's a freak. He doesn't let you speak in the O.R." Izzie said to her while looking at him.
"But that doesn't matter because he's flawless." I said to Izzie. Another guy walked past us.
"I think it's him. What's his name again?" Alex said while looking at him.
"Oh, yeah. Mouth breather guy. But he'll let you do a procedure on your own if he likes you." Cristina said, he sounded like a great guy actually. Meredith approached us.
"What are we doing?" She asked us.
"Trying to figure out who they're gonna pick for Bailey's replacement." Alex told us.
"Yang! Y/l/n! Stevens...Grey, O'Malley, Karev, here you are. I was looking for you guys in the locker room, but you weren't there. And then I thought, well, maybe my interns are looking for me, too. And then I come out here and then here you are." A highly cheerful woman said to us making us all jump. She was way too cheerful for my liking. "Yeah, you guys look like a great group, which is awesome. Because my horoscope said it was gonna be a very challenging day, and I was a little worried, but, no. You guys...yeah, you look like a good group. Which is great, 'cause we're gonna have so much fun." She said before hugging Cristina. "Hi!" She said to her.
"Hi." Cristina said not joining in with the hug.
"First of all, hi." She said tightening the hug.
"Ow! Ow. Ow." Cristina said trying to get her off.
"Oh, Sorry. Am I hurting you?" She asked her.
"Uh, no, you're- -you're touching me." Cristina simply told her.
"I'm Sydney Herron, fourth year, and, uh, my philosophy, uh, just so you know, is, um, is heal with love. Okay. So, wonderful." She said to us, I turned away and tried not to laugh. "So Alex, Izzie, Y/n, Meredith, Cristina- -and our little group is just missing- -" She said while pointing to us.
"O'Malley." I said to her.
"He's cowering behind the strike line like a little girl." Cristina said to Dr. Heron. That's what he was doing.
"Standing up for what he believes in. That's my kind of 'little girl,' right?" She asked us, we all just stood there with smiles upon our faces wanting this interaction to hurry up. "So...the E.R. needs somebody down there for a consult. Does anybody- -who wants to- -" Dr. Heron said, we got to pick what we wanted to do maybe it wasn't so bad.
"We get to pick?" Meredith asked her.
"Oh, me, I'm on it." Cristina said to her before walking away.
"I'll help." Alex said following Cristina.
"I have patients I need to check on." Mer said before walking away and leaving me and Izzie.
"So it looks like it's just both of you two and me, Izzie McGee and Y/n S/t/r/w/y/n (Something That Rhymes With Your Name)." Dr. Heron said to us.
"Right. It's, um, it's Stevens. Izzie Stevens." Izzie said while laughing.
