Chapter 36

It didn't take long to get to Tae's house and drop off Rupert, after spending a few minutes with him I was practically dragging Jimin out of the house to get to the aquarium, he got in the car laughing at me as we drove to our destination I was so excited I couldn't control myself as I bounced around happily in my seat and laughing randomly, definitely not feeling manic...at all… (sarcasm) 
"Pull over" 
"Why what's wrong?" He took his eyes off the road and stared at me
"Pull the fuck over" I demanded, he pulled into the shoulder and I swung the door open emptying my stomach onto the road
"Jesus christ Sarah, are you okay?"
I sat back in my seat calmly and wiped my mouth with a napkin from the glove box
"I'm fine" I smiled "just too excited, or the baby didn't like breakfast. Either way, let's go" I smiled wide at him as he looked at me confused 
"Um..okay" he pulled back onto the road and we finally arrived at the aquarium, we paid for parking and I practically skipped to the building like a little kid making Jimin laugh as he caught up to me after locking the car 
"Relax baby, they're not going anywhere" 
"I know" I smiled "I'm just so fucking excited" he intertwined our fingers and held my hand trying to slow me down, we made it to the entrance and Jimin showed them his phone with our tickets he bought on the way over, once we got our bracelets I almost froze in awe. I've been to so many aquariums, but all the years I've been here I haven't been to this one yet. Joonie and I always planned on going but neither of us made an actual effort to get over here. It was massive and walking in they had a giant structure of a megalodon's mouth to walk through to get in, I just stood there staring at it..like holy hell how did something like that go extinct? They're freakin massive.  Jimin laughed at my reaction as he pulled me through the aquarium, a young woman approached us in her uniform 
"Mr Park, my name is Soo-ra, I'll be your guide for the day" 
"Thank you, this is my fiancee Sarah" 
"Oh! I had no idea you were engaged" she smiled making me feel oddly uncomfortable as my grip tightened on Jimin's fingers 
"It hasn't been announced in the tabloids yet" he smiled and looked at me lovingly making my heart beat pick up 
"Well we're going to have a lot of fun today!" She beamed "and congratulations to you both! Ready to go?"
"Yes please" he nodded and I stayed quiet walking along next to him as she talked our ears off giving us a bunch of facts about the different animals and where they're kept. To be honest.. I was really upset. I thought Jimin and I were going to run around like kids and be goofy as we tried out all the different stuff and stared at the animals.. I didn't know this was an 'adult' trip to the aquarium..it sucked all the fun out of it for me. While she was showing us the sharks I saw the sea turtle enclosure was next so while Jimin was listening to everything this bitch was telling him I snuck away. I backed up slowly, and just wandered off. I walked over to the giant piece of glass that divided me from the turtles and watched them all swim around in the water while the fish and other animals swam around. I didn't realize that tears had already slipped from my eyes. I just watched them exist and it made my heart swell. I always promise myself that if I ever get enough money I'll do anything I possibly can to save the turtles and give them all of my love, time, and affection. They're beautiful creatures and definitely don't get enough recognition or respect. I started taking pictures of them as they swam past me, I felt something on my leg and I looked down to see a little boy maybe three years old trying to get a closer look but the turtles were up more at the top, his mom was behind him with a stroller carrying a newborn, while her other hand was holding onto a little girl that looked younger than him. She looked stressed and distraught while she was trying to juggle everything 
"Mommy..tuttles" he pointed but his mom just replied with "uh huh I see cool" "mommy..I wanna see the tuttles" he reached up for her but she understandably couldn't pick him up
"Mis..uh..I don't want to sound weird..but may I? I can help?" She stared at me for a second 
"Please mommy!" She nodded at her son and kept her eyes on me as I let the camera hang around my neck
"Turtles are my favorite, what's yours?"
"Tuttles!!" 
"Well, you wanna see them buddy?"
"Yes!" 
"Say please" his mom said 
"Please miss?"
"Of course" I smiled widely at him and brushed the tears off my face and picked him up balancing him on my hip, I pointed upwards "see buddy! There they are!!"
"Tuttles!!!" He bounced up and down on my hip giggling...holyfuckingshit.. I never felt so soft before in my life. I love this kid. He's my spirit animal. We laughed and giggled and tried naming all of the fish as I held him on my hip so his mom could adjust all of her things and get her other children situated, I let him use my camera to take pictures and at one point one of the turtles was nose to nose with him through the glass so I took a quick picture on my phone of his face lit up while he put his hand on the glass staring directly at the turtle, I smiled wide at his reaction and gave him some information on turtles and where they come from, he loved every second of it. His mom thanked me for offering to help, she said usually when she takes the kids out it's a struggle and no one has ever offered to help her before, I assured her that I loved the experience as much as her son did, I showed her the picture I took and the smile on her face was amazing, she asked me to send it so I asked her for her email and sent it right over to her. He didn't want me to put him down but eventually his mother talked him into looking at the penguins so I asked him for a high five before he ran off with his mom. I turned back to the glass and stared at the turtles with an even bigger smile on my face feeling a whole lot better than I did forty five minutes ago with Jimin and the tour guide, I oddly felt better about being a mom too. The way that kid interacted with me, and how happy I made him with just a simple gesture.. I felt like..yes. I can totally do this. 
"That was probably the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life" I jumped and turned around smiling at Jimin 
"What?"
"I've been standing here since you offered to show him the turles" he smiled and slowly walked up to me
"You stood there like a creep for forty five minutes while I held some random little kid? Okay weirdo" I chuckled and rolled my eyes facing the glass again 
"I figured the tour guide was sucking all the fun out of this for you, so once you walked away I excused myself and thanked her telling her we were okay from here, I walked over but I didn't want to interrupt the cutest scene ever" he kissed my temple making me blush and feel warm he leaned in and whispered "you're going to be such a great mom" and kissed my cheek, I almost choked as my eyes wanted to tear up. I didn't respond, I just wrapped my arm around his waist as we stood side by side staring at all of the turtles and fish swimming by. Without the tour guide Jimin and I walked around freely going from exhibit to exhibit, watching the presentations and petting everything we could, it wasn't too packed so we didn't have to wait in long lines or fight crowds of children..lord knows I would punt a small child to get to a turtle.. or stingrays. Just kidding. Maybe.
