Having family meal times began to be a regular occurrence in the apartment, sometimes it would just be the three of us, sometimes Aunt Kendra would come over with her whole family and sometimes my Grandparents would come and visit. That's who was there tonight, and I was really excited, having my Grandparents over was better than any of the other combinations.

"Where's my favourite Granddaughter?" Grandad said as I opened the door for them.

"I'm your only Granddaughter."

"That makes you my favourite!" He laughed, pulling me into his arms and allowing Grandma to join the hug.

I had a good relationship with my Grandparents because they had basically raised me when I was a new-born. With Mom and Dad still being in high school when I was born, my Grandparents were the ones who looked after me and it was only when my Dad got his first teaching job that we moved out and at that point I was just starting kindergarten.

"When did you start cooking Terri?" Grandma asked as we sat down to eat whatever Mom had decided to make, it was always an unusual combination.

"Oh, it's just hamburger casserole." She explained but then looked seriously at me. "Look out for bones."

"How's school going Livy, any boys yet?"

I shook my head. "No, I'm focusing on my work and I joined the Cheerio's so that's taking up a lot of my time."

Dad stood up from the table, unable to hold in his excitement. "I'm sorry I can't hold it in any longer. Mom, Dad, Terri's pregnant!"

"What?" Mom said, rubbing her mouth with her napkin.

"It's a boy!"

Grandma stood up and hugged Dad. "Our first grandson!"

"Oh, that's fantastic." Grandad smiled, hugging Mom as I stayed sat in my seat.

"Thank you." Mom said and then glared at Dad from across the room. "Sweetheart I thought we weren't going to tell anybody yet?"

"Oh, your secret is safe with me. I spent six months in the Hanoi Hilton, never said a word." Grandad laughed and pointed to Grandma. "Am I right, Doodle?"

"That's right, Honey."

Mom decided to change the subject. "We're going to turn the craft room into the nursery-"

"Oh! Show me!" Grandma squealed excitedly as she followed Mom out of the dining room.

I didn't move from my seat, no one had really noticed that I hadn't reacted to the news yet. It was just a weird feeling to know that my parents were having a baby, after only having me for almost sixteen years. I didn't know how to react to that.

"I'm really happy for you son." Grandad said as they clinked glasses.

"Tell you the truth, I'm terrified. I don't know how to do this, I barely even raised Olivia."
