Prom was this week and the Prom nominees were made, putting Finn, Brittany, Santana and Quinn up for the vote. We were all proud of them and celebrated their nominations as they entered the choir room that morning. I went to take my seat next to Tina but Sam had a different idea. We had been wondering when to tell everyone that we were officially together because some people knew and some didn't.
We knew that they were going to find out when we attended Prom together but I didn't know whether we should tell them beforehand or not. So far, Finn and Rachel knew because they had caught us when we went to Six Flags, Santana, Brittany and Tina knew because they had asked me when they thought Sam was spending too much time with Mercedes and Tina must have told Mike because he had been acting weirdly around us.
I had told Sam that I didn't want to announce it in a weird way but he promised that it wasn't going to be cheesy or anything, he just wouldn't tell me when he was planning it. Well, my guess was right now as he wouldn't let me sit with Tina, he dragged me down to the front row so that I would sit with him. But before I took my seat, he pressed his hands to my cheeks and leaned down to kiss me; moulding our lips together as our friends noticed and cheered us from their seats.
When he pulled back, our foreheads stayed together and I laughed under my breath. "Well, that's one way to tell everyone."
He laughed at me and pulled away, turning to high-five some of the boys who were cheering wildly for him. I just felt my cheeks heat up because I was embarrassed that he had done that in front of everyone and turned to hide my face in his chest. However, I noticed amongst the cheering and the high-fives that there was someone in the choir room that wasn't as happy for us as everyone else. Mercedes looked as though she could kill someone, leaning back on her chair and crossing her arms; I tried to ignore her and just enjoy this moment with Sam but she was stuck in the back of my mind.
Sam pulled me down to sit in the seat next to him when my Dad entered the room, making sure that everyone knew we were officially a couple as he held my hand in his lap; and he had the biggest smile on his face that made me feel giddy inside.
"Okay, a big congrats to all our Prom nominees! But listen up, we are all winners because Principal Figgins asked New Directions to sing again this year."
"Fantastic." Puck rolled his eyes and I felt the same way about it.
"Alright, Brittany has an announcement."
"Hello my fellow Americans. The theme for this year's Prom will be, dinosaurs!"
Everyone had a different reaction to the theme. Some people were confused with the idea of celebrating dinosaurs but I thought it was exciting because it was a theme that no one had tried before. We would have the most memorable Prom ever because we were going to celebrate with an unheard-of theme and I would be spending the night with my boyfriend, once again.
"I was inspired by the new girl Joe, who reminds me of a cavewoman. The refreshments will be berries, meat and rainwater. As you are no doubt aware, the US elections are riddled with corruption, therefore to keep the Prom elections completely overboard, I have appointed Santana and Quinn to count the ballots."
