We knew that at Sectionals we would be up against two schools, the Jane Addams Academy and Haverbrook School for the Deaf. Due to the fact that Coach Sylvester was untrustworthy my Dad had gone to visit the girls' school to see if they had been given our setlist for Sectionals. The headteacher was extremely irritated that Dad would accuse her of cheating and so he invited her to come to our auditorium because they don't have the best facilities at their school.
So, now the Glee Club were sat in a row of the auditorium, preparing to watch our upcoming competition perform on our stage, and then we would perform something afterwards so that it was fair. Just seeing the girls walking in was bad enough, they all looked really confident and that knocked us because we had thought they'd be easy competition but obviously not.
"Okay guys, first of all I want to welcome Ms Hitchens and the Jane Addams Glee Club. We're all very happy to have you guys here. So, we're going to let you guys start us off. Let's see what you've got!"
Bootylicious
Performed by the Jane Addams Glee ClubOur mouths stayed open as their performance ended, we couldn't compete with that, they were amazing. Even my Dad seemed a little bit overwhelmed with how good they were and he had been confident beforehand, we had underestimated them and that was our fault.
That night Dad was up for hours trying to figure out how we could beat them and he came up with the perfect plan. Although he refused to tell me because he believed that now I was a member of the club, it should be fair that I hear about these things, the same time as everyone else. I didn't like that decision but I couldn't say anything, I just had to go along with it.
"All right guys, I did some thinking last night and I think I've found our new number for sectionals. We're going to do the title song from Hair. Now this show started a revolution-"
"Wait, did they have mohawks back then?" Puck asked. "Like in the 20's or whatever?"
"Yeah Mr Schue, if we're going to do a song about hair, shouldn't we have more hair?" Finn added, noticing that none of the boys had very long hair.
"One step ahead of you, here are your wigs."
He threw them a duffel bag, which the boys tore apart as they found the perfect wigs for themselves, whilst Rachel went to talk to my Dad, probably complaining about something. I couldn't help but laugh at the boys in their wigs as I helped Mike turn his wig the right way around.
"Couldn't you convince your Dad that this was a bad idea?" Santana laughed as she saw Artie wheeling around the room with his wig.
"He wouldn't tell me his idea, he told me that I had to wait like everyone else."
"I'm glad you didn't talk him out of it, I always knew I should have been blonde." Kurt grinned, flipping his blonde wig over his shoulder.
"Looking great guys!"
