When Dad started Glee Club rehearsal, we already knew that something was wrong, he didn't look happy and because none of us knew why, that meant that someone else had done something wrong and it wasn't us. He held up a letter but the writing was so small, that none of us knew what it said; luckily, he was going to explain what was going on because otherwise we wouldn't get anything done.
"Guys, I've got some bad news, you know how we decided on 'Sing' by My Chemical Romance for Regionals? Well, I hold in my hand a cease and desist letter from the band. We can't do it."
There were groans from around the room as we realised that once again, just when we thought everything was working out, it was ruined. Now we didn't have a song to perform at Regionals that would fit the theme of an Anthem and we were only a week away from the competition.
"It was the perfect anthem."
Mercedes sighed and said what we were all thinking. "How much do you want to bet Coach Sylvester had something to do with it?"
"So, what are we going to do now?" I questioned, we needed to think of another perfect song for Regionals and we didn't have much time left.
Rachel stated her opinion loudly. "I think that we should write original songs for Regionals."
"All those in favour of voting Rachel down a second time?" Santana asked and most of us raised our hands, original songs were too difficult and none of us were songwriters.
"No, I think Rachel is right. This team works best when we push ourselves sand do something a little different." Quinn said, making everyone shocked that she had actually agreed with Rachel for once.
"That's true but if all the other teams are doing amazing songs, we're not going to be so good." Mercedes replied, and we nodded in agreement.
"You're right, we're not going to be as good, we're going to be better. We won't be using other people's words or music; it'll be our own. Rachel, I was thinking that maybe you and I could write a song together?"
Finn smiled, looking towards my Dad. "I'm with Quinn and Rachel, I mean, if these two can agree on something, it's probably an idea worth considering."
"Wait, so suddenly, you two are writing the music for Regionals?" Santana snapped. "No way, I think that everyone should get a chance to write a song"
"She's right, we can do this."
"What do you think, Mr Schue?"
He smiled at us and we had our answer. "I think we're doing original songs for Regionals."
We were all excited about the fact that we had a plan for Regionals but I was also terrified because none of us had ever written original songs before and we didn't know if this was going to work. We needed something powerful and emotional if we wanted to win but could we do it?
