Finn had devised a plan that would make sure that New Directions and the Troubletones could both help Santana as she got through the emotional week ahead of her because even though we were in opposing teams, we still wanted her to know that she had our support. She can be mean and tough to work with sometimes, but at the end of the day, she was a hardcore friend and I wouldn't change her for the world.
Over the past two years, we had had some good times and some bad times but I would be lying if I said my entire high school experience wouldn't have been the same without her. Even when I lost Quinn as my best friend, she was by my side and even though we weren't together anymore, she helped me to admit my feelings for Sam and got us together. Santana can be spiteful and jealous but when it comes to her friends, she can't help but look out for them.
This week, we just had to switch roles and now we had to show her how much support she had from us. This was her Senior year and we were going to make sure that it was special, no matter what. Her sexuality doesn't define her as a person and it doesn't change anything about our friendship; she's still my friend even if she's a lesbian and she's on the opposing Glee Club for Sectionals.
"Can someone tell us what's going on, please?"
"This week the Troubletones and New Directions will both be singing music created by ladies and for ladies." Finn explained as he took my Dad's role, writing on the whiteboard.
Santana rolled her eyes, the only person opposing the idea. "Oh hell no."
"Next week, all of us will be going to Sectionals and one of us is probably going to win." He paused. "But Santana, we're worried about you."
"Worry about yourself Foetus Face." She snapped back at him but Finn ignored her, carrying on with his speech as if she hadn't insulted him.
"Glee's about learning how to accept yourself for who you are, no matter what other people think, that's what this music is all about."
"So, wait, I don't even get a say in this? Not cool." She sighed, glancing at Brittany who was listening to what Finn had to say, he had a point.
"Everybody in this room knows about you and Brittany. And we don't judge you for it, we celebrate it because it's who you are." He nodded towards the two guys at the front. "Blaine, Kurt?"
Blaine and Kurt stood in front of all of us as they prepared to kick off Ladies Music week with a toned-down version of a Pink song. I was excited about the lesson this week and it was heart-warming to see Finn stepping into the shoes of my Dad, fulfilling his dream that when he left McKinley, he could leave the Glee Club to his favourite student.
"Santana, Kurt and I have a song we like to sing to each other in the car and we'd like to sing it for you right now."
Perfect
Performed by Blaine & Kurt
