Vada

Vada felt like her body was on fire as his hot breaths rhythmically hit the side of her neck. They were short breaths but impacted Vada's skin like small bullets.

"Yep..."

He laughed, the rapid breaths were a change, Vada inhaled quickly.

"Well," the hands-on her waist tightened, "if you say so" he laughed again, she cocked her head to the side slightly.

He leaned down until his lips were dancing along her skin, skipping just above the surface. Vada inhaled harshly, making him laugh again pushing more hot air onto her skin.

"Don't be shy baby girl," there's that name again, "I know you're not shy"

He didn't know her, not at all, and everything he had seen of her that evening would allude to her being a shy, closed-off person, but he chose to look past that. Jaden looked at how she held herself and how she dressed; with pink hair and a nose ring, and saw the potential of knowing her.

"You don't know me..." she whispered, pressing her hands to the countertop to stable herself. Something about the tall boy behind her made her nervous and excited all at the same time.

"I will" he squeezed her waist one last time before walking away slowly letting his hands drop as he backed up, walking towards the door.

"I could get used to seeing you around" he spoke one last time before leaving her in the kitchen, alone.

Vada could finally breathe again, that was their first conversation and he had already taken her breath away.

She swallowed and grabbed her newly poured drink, the night was still young and she wanted to get drunk, maybe not wasted but enough to feel some kind of way.

It had been an hour since she had interacted with Jaden, they just made eye contact now and again. He would smirk at her, causing a fierce blush to invade her face.

Vada had found Charli again after Chase had left to talk to some of his friends, promising to see her again later: to which she seemed ecstatic.

"This is Anthony, he's part of Sway" Charli explained as a tall, brown-haired boy sat on the couch next to them. Charli had tried to explain the whole Sway LA and Hype House situation to Vada over the past hour and she still didn't quite understand it. She just barely grasped that there were maybe six boys at Sway then the rest were at Hype, but then some were neither. It was confusing, to say the least.

"Hey, you're Maeve's friend, right?" He asked, with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, how do you know her?"

"Avani's my girlfriend" He stated, smiling brighter as he talked about her.

It was adorable, Vada wanted somebody to think of her that way. To smile just at the mention of her name, it was all she wanted.

"How are you enjoying LA so far?" He asked, confusing Vada greatly. They had been in LA for coming up seven months, admittedly she hadn't ventured out much but she had experienced enough by going to the shops.

"I mean it's good, even though we've been here for so long I don't feel like I've experienced it to its fullest"

"Wait, how long have you been here?"

"Seven months" Anthony's eyes widened as he moved his cup away from his mouth.

"What? How haven't we met?"

"Guess Maeve doesn't like me" Vada joked, obviously knowing Maeve cared greatly for her.

"Don't worry, she doesn't like me much either" Anthony licked his lips, he didn't sound annoyed but he didn't quite sound content with how Maeve thought of him, "I think it's because she's afraid I'll hurt Avani, I get she's being a good friend but I just wish she'd lay off a bit" Charli had left them now, and the party still kicked around the two's semi-serious conversation.

Vada turned her body to face Anthony's, pulling her legs up to the sofa and crossed them, pulling a pillow to hide her ridden up skirt.

"She's a protective person, she was with Violet when we first met. You just need to show her that you care and won't purposely hurt Avani, then she'll warm up to you," Vada nodded as she spoke, "I promise"

"Wow," Anthony laughed, "I feel like I should be paying you, you'd make a brilliant therapist" Vada laughed along holding out her hand.

"That'll be $200 please" Anthony only slapped her held out hand, causing them both to laugh.

"Tell you what, I'll come to you for all my problems and in return I'll help you any way I can" He turned to face her too, pulling one leg up on the sofa.

"And that means...?"

"Anything you want; show you around LA, somewhere to stay, someone to talk to" He followed her eye line, past his head, "someone to help you talk to people..."

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Vada laughed, shaking her head trying to move her thoughts away from Jaden.

"Hmm, be careful with Jae, yeah?" Vada raised an eyebrow in question, "he means well, he just can't always show it"

Vada hadn't known Anthony long but probably trusted him more than everyone she had met that night so far, he seemed genuine and willing to help her.

Maybe meeting new people wasn't all that bad.

"Why should Jaden matter to me?" She tried to cover up her staring, to which he only smirked.

"Who's Jaden?" He chuckled, playing along.

"Thought it was Jason" She shrugged back causing the slightly drunk boy to giggle.

"Yep, it-"

"Hey, babe" they were suddenly interrupted when somebody jumped into Anthony's lap, nearly spilling his drink.

"Hey, Vani. I was just meeting Vada" He motioned to her. Avani looked over her shoulder at Vada, smiling a tight-lipped smile before turning her attention back to Anthony.

"I'm going to get a drink, want to come?" Anthony looked at Vada, who nodded slightly to signal she'd be okay alone. Anthony began standing up, drinking the rest of his drink then taking Avani's hand and directing her to the kitchen.

Something told Vada that Avani wasn't her biggest fan, a great way to kick off her friendship with her best friends, best friend.
