Vada

"They won't hear the doorbell" Violet tried to point out as Maeve bounded up the front steps to the 'sway LA' house, already heading towards the doorbell, "Or just do it anyway, you know" Vada laughed at Violets sarcastic comment, walking up and joining Maeve in front of the door.

"Wait, what if they don't hear it?" Maeve questioned herself only to receive a slap on her shoulder by Violet.

"Ow! What was that for?"

"Well, you did deserve it" Vada laughed, earning a glare from Maeve.

"Shut it." She joked, "you have to promise me that you'll try and make friends tonight Vay"

"I will...It's just-" Vada was quite glad to be interrupted when the door finally opened, revealing a short girl with dark hair and pretty makeup.

"MAEVE!" She screamed, leaping forward and attacking the girl in a bear hug.

"Avani! I've missed you so much!" Maeve shouted back, hugging her just as hard as the other two girls just stood there.

"Violet, it's so great to finally meet you" 'Avani' spoke once she eventually let go of Maeve, pulling Violet into a hug.

"You too!" Violet returned the hug and they all walked inside, without Avani even acknowledged Vada being there. Probably not on purpose but it still made her heart beat faster in worry.

"Guys! Maeve and Violet are here" she called to a room full of people, and that wasn't an overreaction. The room was filled to the brim, people sat across the floor and on the back of couches, all shouting at each other to be heard.

Avani stood with an arm looped through each one of theirs, dragging them around to sit with her, again leaving Vada to stand on her own.

It didn't take long for them all to burst into conversation, leaving Vada to observe the room.

They were all immersed in conversation, if not with her friends then with the people around them. Vada could understand why they were all famous, every single one of them was beautiful and probably talented. She studied them all, at first look they were all the same but if you looked closer you could see the differences. Most blond or brunette with chiselled faces and bright eyes, none stood out.

That was until her eyes met his. He sat on the armrest of one of the couches. One of this leg was pulled up and placed on the edge of the full couch, his knee close enough for him to lean his arm on. He wore black ripped jeans with a black button-up shirt, only two or three buttons done up, and white air forces. It wasn't Vadas style, there was for too much black, but she could still appreciate his look.

His hair was also black and had an unbrushed, messy look-however Vada was sure he spent time making it look like that. Then she met his green eyes, which to her surprise were already staring straight back at her.

They kept eye contact for a few seconds, he seemed to be staring into her soul. Vada looked does at her fingers, she hadn't even met him properly but she was terrified, just his vibe was intimidating.

"Oh!" Violet almost shouted, breaking the trance Vada was stuck in, "we completely forgot, this is Vada!" She stood up and rushed over to Vada, who still stood by the doorway, and dragging her to sit with the other girls on the floor.

"Oh my god," Avani spoke, reaching out her hands to grab Vadas own, "I'm so sorry I didn't even see you outside. You must think I'm so rude"

"No, really it's-it's okay" Vada stuttered out of nervousness from the number of eyes on her at that moment.

"Vada this is: Charli, Dixie, Mads, Addison and Nessa" They all smiled at her as their names were spoken and Vada smiled back slightly waving her hand, receiving a laugh from somewhere in the room.

"What about the rest of us?" The boy from before spoke, still staring at Vada.

"There's, like thirty people here! You guys can do that on your own time" Dixie, or maybe Nessa, joked causing them all to laugh.

Soon enough everybody went back to their conversation, Vada would put her two cents in every now and again, just to not seem rude. To be completely honest half of what they said went straight over her head, they talked about inside jokes and TikTok content, two things Vada had no clue about.

"Right, are we drinking or what then?" An older looking boy with light brown curly hair shouted to be heard, receiving multiple screams.

Everybody stood up, pulling Vada up with them. Soon music filled the air and it didn't take long for alcohol to be prominent as well.

Vada stood in the same spot, Violet and Maeve long gone, with only Charli left with her. Charli looked a lot more awkward than the rest of the people.

"Hey," Vada reached out to her, "are you okay?" Charli turned towards her and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fifteen so I'm not sure about drinking."

"Have you drank before?" Vada question, pretty sure she knew the answer from her own experiences.

"Yeah," she knew it, "it's just a bit early, I'm good with water for now. Are you not going to drink?" Charli question back.

"I would, I just have no clue where the kitchen is" the two girls laughed before Charli grabbed her hand.

"I'll take you, keep tight hold"

It wasn't long before they were in the kitchen, which somehow was already trashed, mixing drinks as best they could.

"So what do you like?" Vada asked as she poured more gin into her red cup.

"I'm not sure, I don't drink a lot" Charli nodded, watching Vada pour lemonade into her gin.

"It took me years to find my drink," Vada admitted, "I used to think it was Vodka but it gave me killer hangovers so I moved on" Charli laughed, throwing her head back.

"I'll make you one" Charli nodded allowing Vada to make it for her. Vada poured some gin into a separate cup before adding lemonade.

"Don't people usually have it with tonic water?" Charli raised her eyebrows at the older girl, taking the drink from her outstretched hand.

"Yeah but, tonic water sucks so I use lemonade" She shrugged taking a sip of her drink and following Charli back to the living room, spotting Maeve talking to Avani and a tall boy whilst Violet was already talking to the boy who started the party earlier.

"Her where do you want to-" Vada started, turning towards Charli, or more specifically where Charli was stood.

"Right." She took another sip, "this is going to be a long night"
