Vada

"You don't have to go to work, you know..." Avani tried to tell Vada, for the fifth time, through the phone.

After last night, Vada had eventually gone home to get some rest before her day at work. Avani had told her that work was the worst possible place for her to be right now, however Vada disagreed knowing that the rush of the smoothie shop would keep her thoughts away from everything that had happened in the last 24 hours, including all of the messages that Jaden had tried to send her.

"I know, Vani, but it'll do me good...trust me" she yawned, stuffing her apron into her bag.

"I just don't want you getting too stressed, nothing seems to be going right for you at the moment" Vada let out a light laugh at Avani's statement, knowing how true it was.

"Bad things come in three" she replied nonchalantly, she was clearly joking however the way she furrowed her eyebrows afterwards showed the true worry she felt.

"Don't worry about it Vada, you've only had one, sometimes bad things come in one and then you deal with it" Avani told her, trying to help but not really helping.

Vada had chosen not to tell Avani, or anybody for that matter, about what happened with George. Mostly because she was ashamed.

"Let's hope so..."

The loud clanging of the fresh orange juice machine was giving Vada a headache, that and Ellie, her coworker's, constant talking.

"-and then! And-fucking-then, this absolute dickhead turned around and blamed me for it!" She scrubbed the counter top harshly as she ranted, shaking her head.

"I mean, i'm not a violent person but that boy makes me want to bash his head in, and then my own" she continued, not noticing Vadas far off look as she wiped the till, "he can just be so oblivious sometimes" she said, ironically as she hadn't noticed Vadas downcast look in the past four hours they'd been working together.

"Yeah, some people are just clueless" Vada cut in, sighing.

"I know!" Ellie continued, turning around to lean against the counter, "well then I went to talk to his mom about it, she's always on my si-"

"Vada" a voice interrupted Ellies moaning.

She turned, not expecting that voice at all.

"Hi, can I get a mango smoothie please?"

Vada's mouth hung open as she looked at the boy, he smiled brightly as if nothing was weird about this situation.

What was he doing in LA? Especially in the specific shop she worked in.

"...um, yeah i'll get you it" Ellie told him, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion as she grabbed a cup, scooping some chopped up mango into it before turning to the machine.

"What are you doing here, Ryan?" She asked him, shock still very much present on her face.

"Your dad told me what happened and-"

"Of course he did" Vada cut him off, shaking her head with a heavy sigh.

"-and I suggested that i'd come and see if you were okay" he continued, ignoring her interruption.
