Jaden was centimetres away from her now, she could feel his breath dance along her glossy lips. She was intoxicated by his aftershave and the light smell of alcohol that was stuck to his clothes, that mixed with the aroma of weed in the air was enough to make Vada feel dizzy.

She wanted nothing more than to kiss him right then and there and not stop until they could hear the birds around them the next morning. But she wouldn't.

"I'm hungry," she spoke suddenly, pulling out of his grip. Jadens hands dropped to his side as she walked away, he stared at the houses across the road and kissed his teeth before spinning around to face the girl.

"Munchies" He stated simply.

"So lets go out and eat" Vada spun around with her arms outstretched, nearly tripping backwards.

"What?" Jaden laughed, walking slowly towards her, "no"

"Why?" She stopped spinning and pouted her lip out.

"I have a slight feeling that we'd be above the legal alcohol limit" Jaden stated walking behind the fan to grab a box of food he kept up there for when he got the munchies, Vada seemed to ponder the idea.

"Yeah probably," she muttered, "but we could have gone to Dennys" She pointed out as if it was a great revelation.

"Dennys? Why Dennys?"

"Dennys, Jaden: Jae-dennys" Vada giggled to herself, shaking her head slowly as she watched a small smile creep onto Jadens face before he too started laughing.

"Oh, you're definitely high"

"Good..." she whispered, smiling and stumbling towards Jaden. He laughed at her, she was definitely a character.

"Chocolate?" He offered, holding the bar out to the whimsical girl in front of him.

"Is that even a question" Vada laughed more grabbing the bar and opening it, Jaden grabbed his own.

"Why does this taste so good?" Vada moaned as she broke off more chocolate squares.

"The magic of being high," Jaden laughed at her closed eyed smile, "next time we'll have to get some proper food, pizza's the shit when your high" Jaden had moved to sit back down against the fan, his legs out stretched and eyes on her.

"Next time?" Vada smirked. She expected him to look away, embarrassed, that's what she would have done if someone called her out like that. So it was a surprise to her when he smirked right back at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Guess I just like seeing you high, babygirl" Vada blushed, she had tried to make him do so and now here she sat looking the weaker one once again.

Jaden was a natural at being the dominant one in their conversations, and she could only guess in life in general. He had an aura around him that radiated authority. Probably without even meaning to, that was just his personality, and for some reason, Vada was invested.

The two sat in a comfortable silence whilst they ate, Vada admired the skyline some more as she slipped the chocolate squares into her mouth every few minutes.

"I would totally win you in a fight!" They were suddenly snapped out of their bubble when they heard loud shouting from, what Vada assumed, was the back garden.

"That's cap! I'd definitely win" another voice shouted back.

"Come on then, lets see!" The first voice shouted back before they heard some brawling, along with a few other voices shouting and cheering.

Vada looked over at Jaden, who didn't seem bothered by the ruckus.

"Should we make sure they're okay?" She asked, making a move to get up but stopped when Jaden reached out and grabbed her wrist.

"They're fine," he mused, "Sounds like Bryce and Tayler are just messing around, they do it all the time" He seemed used to it, which he probably was.

"Should we go back down?" She asked another question, he only let out a huff in response.

Vada felt like she was annoying him, but then again Jaden seemed like the type of person to leave if he didn't want to be somewhere and he hadn't left yet so she must be doing something right.

"I've been to hundreds of these things," his voice was low, "they'll be fucking or passed out within the next half hour, might as well stay up here"

"To fuck and pass out?" Vada surprised herself with the statement, she couldn't catch the words as they sprinted from her mouth, and Jaden seemed just as surprised. For the first time since she's met him, Jaden seemed caught for words.

"I wouldn't object" he said, moving his hand to rest on her thigh, gripping it at just the right strength to make the breath catch in her throat.

"Good to know" she smirked, using his own words against him. Jaden laughed in return, he threw his head back, his laugh bellowed along the night sky.

"You're something else Vada" he spoke once he was done.

That was the first time he'd called her by her actual name since they'd met, she much preferred him to call her 'babygirl'; it felt special, like he'd think of her every time he heard the name.

"Is that a good thing?"

"Definitely"

Vada dragged her heavy eyes to meet his. Even sat down Jaden was taller than her, he's whole personality seemed to engulf her.

Vada opened her mouth to speak but was cut off when his hand raised to her cheek, wiping his thumb under her eye and cradling her face in his palm.

Her heart was beating so fast she could hear it in her ears, and was surprised that he couldn't hear it as well.

Jaden leaned down to reach her, his face inches away, he pulled her upwards with his hand but she didn't object.

Until finally, their lips met and this time she didn't pull away.
