⋆Vada⋆"You could have told us, Vay" Maeve rubbed her back as the girls sat around their crying friend.
Vada held her head in her hand, as she cried to the two girls, all sat in Maeves bedroom.
Truth be told she couldn't remember how she got there, one second she was dancing in the rain, dragging herself away from a boy she loved, and the next she was at her front door crying into Maeves shoulder.
"I didn't know how" she let out, still crying.
"It's okay, we understand" Violet rubbed her knee.
"I just don't understand why you didn't tell us..." Maeve mumbled, earning a harsh glare from Violet.
"Not now, Maeve" Violet told her, setting her eyes back onto her crying friend.
"I wanted to" Vada told her, "we just decided it was better off a secret, I guess I know why now" she sniffed, cringing as she relived the memory of walking in on Jaden and Mads.
"We're best friends, we're supposed to tell each other everything" Maeve stated, her soft voice contrasting the harshness of her statement.
"I'm so sorry, I've been such a shit friend" Vada cried more, rubbing her eyes on the sleeves of the dry sweatshirt they had given her.
"No, we were shit friends for not noticing" Maeve told her, as Violet stood up to open the door as the doorbell went.
"No, you guys shouldn't have to notice"
"Yes, we should." Maeve shook her head, "friends are supposed to notice everything, and I've done a shit job of that lately, i'm sorry" Maeve pulled her into a hug, letting the shorter girl cry into her shoulder as they rocked back and forth.
"Oh, Vay" the two girls heard as they pulled away, watching Avani walk over to them, "it's okay don't worry"
Violet and Maeve made eye contact, unsure of the situation, whilst Avani gave Vada a similar look.
"It's okay guys, she knows" Vada told them, watching the two girls relax lightly.
"Wait, Avani knew before us?" Maeve raised an eyebrow, "but I thought you guys hated each other"
"Well we did, and then I found out and...that changed" Avani explained, holding onto Vada hand tightly.
"Oh, great" she replied awkwardly, trying not to let anger into this sensitive situation.
"I found out on my own though," Avani reassured, sitting up slightly once she saw Maeves face, "if I didn't i'm sure she would have told you guys first" Vada nodded.
"It's okay, Vay, you don't owe us an explanation" Violet reassured, Maeve nodded along, smiling lightly.
"So we're the only ones that know" Maeve asked.
"Yeah, apart from Jaden...obviously" they nodded, "and my family" the two girls' eyes widened at the mention of them, "it's a long story" they nodded, not quite sure what to say.
They knew about Vadas family, Violet even remembered her mother. They had met her father a handful of times and hated him just as much as he hated them.
"I bet Dylan loved Jaden" Maeve said sarcastically, let out a light laugh, trying to brighten the mood.
"Oh, he adored it when Jaden stood up to him, and when he mentioned being arrested, oh you should have seen the love in his eyes" the girls giggled as Vada spoke, the first time she had laughed since this whole thing went down.
"So just us, that's not too hard to remember"
"Oh, and Anthony" she remembered, nodding along with Avani.
"So Ant knew before us?" Maeve pointed between herself and Violet, a face of disbelief on her face. Vada nodded slowly, scared to see their reaction.
"Wow, we really are shit friends" the girls laughed again, but Vada was just relieved that the two of them forgave her.
"Ant knew before all of us" Avani cut in.
"Wait, why Ant first?" Violet questioned making Vada giggle.
"He found out on his own, he's like a spy" she told them watching Avani nod.
"Wow, so we're shit friends and slow" Maeve laughed.
Vada slowly stopped crying, with the help of her friends cheering her up. They watched a few movies and ate junk food, talking about anything but Jaden, until Avani got a text.
"Oh, I forgot" she spoke up, swallowing her mouthful of ice cream, "the whole reason I came over was to tell you what happened with Jaden and Mads"
Violet and Maeve sucked in a breath, shooting their eyes towards Vada to see her reaction, but her face didn't show anything.
"Hmm" she nodded, encouraging Avani to continue.
"When he came back, after you guys went off in the rain, Mads tried to talk to him and he just completely shut her down. He started shouting and stuff, he didn't want us to hear it but we did" Vadas eyes softened before she realised that if Jaden was shouting he might have outed them, "oh, no he didn't say anything about you guys!" Avani reassured her, "he just went on about how they broke up for a reason and he's over her, so she should get over him"
Vada nodded as she listened, licking her lips as she heard what he said, but he was only upset about it now because he got caught.
If Vada had never walked in on them it probably would have gone further and she never would have found out.
"Ant knew," Vada told Avani, who nodded, "he must have, he tried to stop me from going in"
"Yeah, he mentioned that Mads had came upstairs and asked to talk to Jaden, he heard them through the door" Avani explained, Vada let out a sigh, she wasn't about to blame Anthony for Jaden's mistakes.
"It's okay, he made mistakes, I'll move on"
But they all knew that was a lie.
