"Vada, do you want to get food with us first?" Josh asked from the front seat, receiving a nod from the small girl and a small shout of 'yes'.

"Food before what?" Jaden asked confused, looking down at her.

"I'm going to see my family for a bit, only a day or two" she explained, "I had to think of an excuse to come" he nodded his mouth shaping to an 'oh'.

"So I don't see you for a week and now you're leaving again?" He jokingly asked, but his voice showed his real feelings.

He looked away from her, licking his lips slightly, his hand gripping her shoulder the slightest bit tighter - since they were sat in the back nobody could see them, so they were free to do whatever.

"Why don't you come?"

"What?" He asked in surprise.

"Yeah, just say you're going home to see your parents and we'll get a flight back together" she told him.

"But instead I meet your parents?" He questioned, noticing her face fall a bit.

"I guess so...yeah, if you have to" she bit her lip, nervous about him meeting them. It's not that she wasn't ready for him to meet them, she was, it was more that she hadn't talked to her father in months and her mother...well.

"We don't have to...we can go on a small get away, just tell them you're at your parents" he suggested, noticing her falter.

"No," she told him, "I think it'd be good for you to meet my family," he nodded, smiling lightly.

"Avani, can you pass me the salt?" Vada pointed, getting pepper packages thrown at her by Anthony instead.

"Hey!" Avani scolded, "that's pepper, at least throw the right thing" he laughed as she slapped his arm.

"I still don't have salt" Vada laughed, feeing Jaden grip her thigh as he chuckled too.

"You're already sweet enough" Josh said winking, receiving an awkward laugh from Vada.

"What?"

"You know...that's what you say when somebody wants salt, right?" He questioned, by now the table was trying to hold in their laughs.

"That's sugar, stupid" Vada laughed at his face as he realised.

"Ohhh,"

"Yeah, 'ohhh'. Why would salt be sweet?" She laughed, he shook his head and shrugged his shoulders, about to reply when he was interrupted.

"Vada?" The table quietened down, turning to a see a boy a few steps away from the table.

His blond hair sat in a nest on his head, yet still managed to look styled, the curls moving in just the right way. He was short, but not stocky, with clothes stylishly too big for him.

"Ryan" she spoke, staring at the boy.

Jadens head snapped towards her in surprise, why did she look anything but disgusted?From what he'd heard, Ryan hadn't exactly treated her well.
