Vada

"Oh fuck off!" Lily shouted back, storming up the stairs as Vada followed slowly, watching her go into her room and slam the door shut.

Vada crept towards the door carefully, not wanting to aggravate the girl more.

"Lily..." she knocked on the door, "are you okay?" She asked, being quiet as to not wake up her younger siblings.

"Why would I tell you!" Lily shouted back, obviously not bothered about waking them.

"You don't need to tell me what happened" she told her, hearing the pacing stop as she spoke, "but I don't want you going to sleep angry"

Vada listened with her ear to the door, carefully waiting for lilys reply. She heard a click as the doorknob twisted, making her jump back.

She looked up, seeing Lily open the door slowly, tears in her eyes.

"Can I ask you a question?" Vada nodded, not knowing what else to say.

"Do mean girls ever grow out of being bitches?" She sniffed, breaking Vadas heart a little.

"Oh, Lily" she stepped forward opening her arms, "come here" Lily lunged forward, a sob escaping her mouth as she hugged Vada, squeezing her tight.

"It'll be okay" Vada shushed her, rubbing her back, "how about I make you a hot chocolate and we talk about it, yeah?" She suggested, pulling back to see Lily nod.

"So, what have these 'bitches' done?" Vada questioned as she removed the boiled milk from the stove, pouring it into two mugs and mixing in the hot chocolate powder.

"They're horrible, if you're not like them- exactly like them-then they hate you, they make everybody else hate you" she stared at the island table, her hoodie sleeves pulled up to cover her hands.

"Yeah, somehow they never grow out of that" Vada mused, placing the mug down next to her and sitting down, "the best thing to do it rise above it, find people that accept you for you"

"Why should I have to? Why am I the weird one for not fitting in to their stupid standards?" She asked, shaking her head, getting angry again.

"Let me tell you something," Vada said, taking Lilys hand in her own, "you're thirteen right?" She nodded, "when I was thirteen I was bullied every day"

"Really?" She nodded, "what for?"

"My mom had died..." Vada whispered, "and that made me different, and they didn't like that" Lilys face dropped, her mouth open in surprise.

"Wow, what did you do?"

"I took eggs to school and smashed one on the head bitches head in science class" Lily giggled as Vada spoke, her laughing too, "but don't do that!" Vada said still laughing.

"And that made her stop?"

"No," Vada admitted, smiling now, "if anything it made it worse, she actually had a reason to bully me now. Instead, I found a group of people who made me feel like I could be happy, made me forget about the bullies until they got bored and stopped" she admitted, taking a sip of her drink.

"Nobody wants to be my friend" Lily looked down, a tear slipping down her cheek.

"Have you tried to make new friends?" Vada asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No..." she whispered.

"Well, until you feel comfortable enough to...I'll be your friend"

"Really?" Lily sniffed, looking up into Vada eyes with hope.

"Of course" she smiled bringing the girl into a hug.

"Thank you...Vada, really"

"Vada, we're back!" She heard a shout as she washed the last few pots, drying her hands and walking back through towards the front door.

Lily had gone upstairs to get ready for bed only ten minutes before after finishing their drink and watching an episode if Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a series that Lily seemed so surprised that Vada had never seen before, vowing that they'd watch all the seasons together whenever Vada came over.

"Hello dear," Mary greeted, sliding off her heels, "i'm going straight to bed, George will pay you, thanks again" she pulled Vada into a hug, making her way upstairs leaving the two alone, one a lot more anxious than the other.

"You do us well, Vada" he spoke after a while, confusing Vada a bit.

"Um...thank you, George" she told him, going to the couch to put on her coat and bag.

"You deserve more than just money" she heard the smirk in the older mans voice.

"No thanks, i'll just take the cash" she joked, spinning around to see the man a lot closer.

"Is $200 enough?"

"More than" she smiled slightly, taking the money in her hand, gasping as he grabbed her arm.

"There is a way you could earn more" he mused, laughing at her shocked face.

"No...thank you" she swallowed, pulling her hand back, dropping the money.

"Are you sure, I have the experience boys your age just simply don't" he grabbed her hips, pulling her close, his hot breath hitting her forehead.

"George, I have a boyfriend" she lied, trying her best to step backwards.

"He won't find out" his hand ran up her arm, grabbing her cheek and moving her face to angle towards her.

"There will be nothing to find out" Vada almost spat, having enough of being polite, "because nothing will happen" she tried to push away his hands but he only gripped tighter, probably leaving bruises.

"Oh, it will" he grabbed the back of her head, leaning in to meet his lips her hers, moving them as she squealed, keeping her mouth tightly shut.

"Kiss me back!" He demanded, gripping her shoulder tightly.

"No" she mumbled, pushing against his chest, but nothing was working.

Vada panicked, raising her knee at a fast speed to meet him, hearing his grunt and bend over, grabbing the sensitive part that she had hit.

"How dare you!" He spoke harshly, watching Vada grab her money off the floor and run towards the door, opening it and running down the driveway, having no clue where to go she simply ran.

She ran, and ran, and ran, eventually seeing familiar scenery, kind of knowing where she was.

And there was only one place she could think about going.

Sway.
