Drug warning

⋆Vada⋆

Stealthily, Vada sat up trying her hardest not to make any sound from her covers rubbing together. She had left her shoes and outfit in the bathroom to quickly change before meeting Jaden, she had to be careful they didn't find out.

She cringed as her phone fell off her bed, her head snapped towards Violet as she twisted in her sleep.

Vada continued getting up, grabbing her phone and making her way to the door, opening it slowly.

"Vay?" A croaky voice stopped Vada in her tracks, "where are you going?"

"Um-" she stuttered looking between the hallway and Violets bed, "i'm-i'm just going to get some water" she swallowed.

Violet pulled her head up, making eye contact with Vada. She held her breath, Violet could always tell if she was lying, but maybe not in her sleep deprived state.

"Oh,okay" her head fell back to the pillow.

Vada pulled the door shut quietly, not wanting to wake Maeve as well, then she'd never get out. She got to the bathroom and slipped on her outfit from that day and briskly left the apartment, making sure to take the house keys with her.

The parking lot was full but felt so empty, all of the cars looked abandoned and the lights fluttered. It reminded her of a horror movie.

"Boo!" Vada shrieked as she felt hands grab her waist, she twisted hitting the tall body but only heard laughs in return.

"Vada, Vada, calm down! It's me-it's me" Jaden said taking her wrists and holding them to his chest.

"Jaden!" She shouted, it echoed in the parking let, "you dickhead, don't do that to me!" She couldn't help the laugh that raised in her voice.

"Wow, not even a change in outfit" he pointed out, looking down at her, "I see how important I am"

"It's a cute outfit," she frowned, "I wanted to get my full use out of it" she walked after him towards his car, and reached to open the passenger side door, only to be pulled back by her arm and twirled her body into his, wrapping an arm around her.

"What are you-?"

"This is a treat" he said reaching for the door himself, "you don't even have to lift a finger" he smirked, his tone obviously joking.

Vada couldn't help the smile that crept onto her face as she got into the car, watching Jaden walk around to his side and set off. Of course, she had no clue where they were going, but that didn't stop her from being excited.

Jaden turned up the music, Nights by Frank Ocean boomed through the speakers. Vada closed her eyes, enjoying the beat as she waited for the change but she was cut out of her own mind when she heard him start to sing along.

It was quiet, under his breath, like he didn't want Vada to hear him at all, but she did and she was glad she had. He was amazing, his voice was so smooth that it brought goosebumps to her skin.

"Wow..." she whispered, not meaning to speak.

"What?" He laughed, glancing at her quickly before looking back at the road.

"Just...you're really good" she stumbled, looking down at her hands and biting her lip.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah," she agreed, "you're gunna be a fuckin' rockstar baby" she smirked, quoting him to which he laughed.

"You know it"

"Where is this place?"  Vada asked, admiring the view as she stepped out of the car.

"Just a hiking trail, the best views at the top" Jaden replied, closing her door and starting to walk up the path.

Vada didn't follow, partly because she wasn't up for the idea of hiking a hill in the dark at 1am, but also because she wanted to take in the view.

Even from the bottom she could see the lights of Los Angeles, they were so much brighter than any of the lights back home which wasn't always bad but she did miss how bright the stars shone in Texas.

"You coming or what?" A voice shouted through the darkness.

"I don't know where you are" she shouted back, he sounded close but his voice was blocked, probably by the trees.

"Just follow my voice, idiot" he teased, but she didn't find it quite as funny.

"I would if I knew where it was, idiot" she replied, he only laughed but this time he sounded a lot closer.

"Come on,"

"Wow..." she whispered as they reached the top, by the time they got there it was close to 2.30am and the walk had Vadas chest beating twice as hard.

"Yep, beautiful" Vada looked to Jaden, he was sat on a wall a few feet away a small box in one hand with a small, metal circular thing sat on the wall next to him.

The wind whisked her hair all over as she walked towards him, she raised her eyebrow as she saw what he was holding. It was a small cigarette tin, opened to show the baccy and skins.

"You smoke?" She questioned, eyeing the box.

"Rarely, usually straights", he bit his lip putting the box down, "the baccy's mostly for this" he held up the small green circle, now showing her it was actually a grinder.

"You're getting high?" She whispered. Vada had never been against people doing drugs, it was their own life and it had nothing to do with her, but her heart ached at the thought of Jaden smoking, again. Did he need to be high just to be around her? No, she told herself, obviously not; he just likes getting high.

"Yeah, you want some?" He brought the skin to his mouth, licking the rolling paper and finishing it off before bringing out a lighter from his pocket.

Vadas only experience with drugs had been with Jaden and that had turned out well enough, it wouldn't be so bad if she did it again.

"Yeah, okay" she walked towards him, taking the unlit blunt from between his lips and placing it in her own, eyeing him.

He smirked, bringing the lighter up behind his hand and lighting it for her.

"Let the night begin"

i don't actually know what americans call baccy and straights so like if you're american pls correct me so I can change it :)

The next two or so chapters were all meant to be this one chapter so hope yous enjoy even tho i hate the next one so might rewrite it
