Vada

One of the best things about Vada was that she hated letting people down, however this could quickly become the worse thing once she realised that her internal desire to please people could push her into dangerous situations.

A situation such as the one she was in right now; saying goodbye to Mary and her dispicable husband with an already sleeping Luke held tightly in her arms.

Vada stepped back as George leaned in for a hug, not taking any chances with the man, especially with his own son in her arms.

"We'll be back in a few hours, goodbye sweetheart" Mary smiled as bright as always, unknowing of the nightmares the man she loved had caused Vada.

"Bye" she waved, closing the door and taking the young boy straight upstairs.

Lyla was already sleeping, considering it was already quite late and apparently Luke had insisted on stay up to see Vada.

"Goodnight" she whispered as she set him down into his bed, placing his teddy in his arms before creeping out of his room and closing the door.

She had been reluctant to babysit for the family after what had happened with George last time, only two weeks ago; the day everything started going down hill.

After their fight in the rain she hadn't spoken to Jaden, no matter how many messages she typed out and deleted. Therefore, she also hadn't had time to talk to many of the Sway members, apart from Anthony when she would go to Avani's apartment and Bryce when he'd come to pick up Violet.

The girls insisted on hanging out everyday, claiming that if they left Vada alone she might get emotional without having anybody to cry to, it was nice but also exhausting.

Therefore, coming to babysit was like a breath of fresh air, fresh air that reminded her of the horrible feeling of Georges lips against hers but still fresh air.

Ryan had gone home the day after his and Jadens fight, like he promised, and probably ran to her father to tell him everything that happened; only intensifying his hatred for Jaden. But Vada didn't care at this point.

She hoped that Jaden was just as heart broken as her, but had a gut feeling that he moved on rather quickly, well 'gut' as in his multiple TikToks with Mads being all over TikTokRoom.

"Vada?" She heard the doorway open, bringing her back down to earth, "I didn't know you were coming tonight!" Lily smiled, closing the front door and heading towards the girl, getting pulled into a tight hug.

"Hey, where've you been?" She asked as Lily sat down, yawing slightly.

"Out with my new friend, Max" she smiled, obviously proud of herself and it only got bigger as she watched Vadas face light up.

"You made a new friend? That's brilliant" the girls laughed as Vada stood up, heading to the kitchen, Lily following close behind.

"I'll make hot chocolates, you start telling me all about them" Lily nodded and started talking.

She told Vada that Max had just transferred to her school from New York, and how he had moved here with his Dad and twin sister.

"So, is he cute" Vada wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, joking around with the younger girl.

"Shut up!" Lily blushed, putting her head down, "we're just friends..." then she trailed off, biting her lip.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just I have another question, that I don't think I can ask my mom," Vada nodded and set down their now done hot chocolates, listening intently to Lily's problems so that she could help her, "is it okay if...if I don't want to date Max?"

Vadas laughed as she took a sip, breathing out a sigh as she did so; she had expected a question a lot more serious.

"Of course it is, Lily, girls and boys can be just friends" Lily nodded, however she still looked unsure.

"Yeah...I know but" she bit her lip looking down.

"Lily, are you okay? What's wrong?" Vada rounded the island to rub her back, feeling the stress in her muscles.

"Vada, what if I don't want to date a boy... ever?" Lily looked at her with tears in her eyes, confused by her feelings, but Vada only smiled back the sweetest smile she could muster.

"That is perfectly fine, as long as you're happy and being true to yourself you can like anybody" Vada reassured her.

"Really?" She sniffed.

"Really" Vada nodded, wiping a tear from her eye, "we will all accept you, no matter what."

"Well, you and my mom maybe, but not George" Vada furrowed her eyebrows as she didn't call George 'dad'.

"George...?"

"...he's not my real dad, my dad left when I was four, before Mom met George and they got married, but he just calls me his because he brought me up..."

"That's nice of him" Vada smiled, noticing Lily wince slightly, "...right?"

"Kind of...but he's always scared me in a way"

Vadas heart dropped as she heard Lily talk, the thought of George doing the same thing that he did to her to Lily terrified her.

"Lily...has George ever done anything inappropri-"

"No" Lily cut her off her eyes squinting, "why has he with you...?"she trailed off taking Vadas silence as an answer.

"Lil-"

"Don't tell my mom!" Vadas eyes widened at Lilys outburst, "it's just that if you do she'll fire you like the others and then-"

"Wait, wait, wait" Vada held up her hands, "'others'?" Lily nodded shyly.

"The last three nannies, that's why we always need more...but she always believes him" Vada sat back, sighing deeply at this new information.

She couldn't blame Mary for not believing the other nannies, at the end of the day you'll always strive to believe in the one you love.

"Lily...if I do tell your mom, you know that you can still talk to me; about anything at any time of the day" Vada grasped her hands, watching Lilys broken eyes.

"Really?"

"Of course! Lily I will always be here for you" she stood up from the bar stool to pull Lily into a hug, squeezing her tightly.

"Now, enough of the soppy shit" Lily laughed at Vadas shocked face, "any boys?" She smiled smugly, however Vadas face dropped slightly.

"...ummm" Vada sighed, sitting back down and cradling the hot mug in her hands.

"'Ummm'?" Vada nodded, "what's that about?" Lily asked.

"Drama...so, so much drama" Vada over exaggerated, throwing her head back, "never get a boyfriend, or girlfriend" she corrected herself, watching Lily smile lightly.

"So...theres a boyfriend?" Lily smirked, leaning her chin onto her clasped hands.

"...not exactly"

"Huh?" Lily furrowed her eyebrows, obviously confused.

"Sometimes, people love each other; a lot. But they can't see it at the time, so then eventually their time comes and goes and they completely miss it" she sighed, biting her lip as she spoke about Jaden for the first time in weeks, "and other times, they convince themselves that they're alone in their feelings, so they keep them pushed down and eventually it fucks them over." She nodded as Vada continued, more talking to herself now than to Lily.

"I never used to think that 'right person, wrong time' was just something people said, but here we are..."

Yep...there she was.
