⋆Vada⋆

"It's cute, but does it scream 'poor, sick Victorian boy' a little too loud?"Violet questioned, admiring the top she held up to herself in the mirror.

"The collar does kind of say William Shakespeare" Vada agreed, looking at the hoodie on the rack in front of her.

"Well, I think it's cute" Avani stated, popping her head over Violets shoulder, glancing at Vada quickly, "I think you should get it"

"Maeve what do you think?" Violet asked, turning around to face Maeve who had just picked up a few necklaces.

"Hmm," She grimaced, "Queen Elizabeth the first called, she wants her collar ruffle back" Vada laughed, walking towards Maeve and high-fiving her.

"What's with the history themed insults today?" Violet asked, sticking out her bottom lip.

"We like to keep it fresh"

"Yeah, I'm personally looking forward to Friday, that's animal themed" Maeve joked, pushing Vadas shoulder with her own who only laughed.

"Can we get some food? I'm hungry" Avani asked, not feeling included in their jokes. All morning they had joked around, she had tried her best to join in and Maeve had made sure to try and include her, but their jokes mostly went over her head.

"Yeah sure, lets go" Maeve agreed, pulling them to the check out.

"Me and Violet'll go order for us all, sit tight and be ready for a grand feast" Maeve joked, continuing their little history joke from earlier.

They left quickly, huddled and laughing leaving a table with a much different atmosphere. Avani hadn't even looked up from her phone when Vada spoke.

"Did you buy anything nice?" She tried to start up a normal conversation, but still felt awkward. When Avani didn't reply she continued, "I saw you looking at a nice top and-"

"Listen" she was cut off, "The only reason I'm being nice to you is because of how much I care for Maeve. I don't like you and quite frankly can't stand how you treat your 'friends' or how you are around Anthony; my boyfriend"she snapped, if this was Avani being nice she dreaded seeing her mean.

"What I've done to...?"

"Yes, you take Maeve for granted; she's impressional and you take advantage of that, and one day she'll see it" Vada opened her mouth to reply but Avani started again, "and if you even think about going near Anthony again I won't hesitate to show you my mean side, got it?"

Vada swallowed, feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket but ignored it, Avani spoke in a low tone with high eyebrows, you could practically see the anger roll off of her.

"Got it..." Vada whispered as the girls sat back down.

"-no nuggets are way better" Violet finished her sentence.

"Burgers!" Maeve replied, taking out her burger from the McDonalds bag after passing out the food.

They continued their little fight but Vada wasn't paying attention. For months Maeve had told her all these amazing stories about Avani and how they'd all be the best of friends, but clearly that wasn't how their new 'friendship' would go.
