Zachary Goode reread his sons message many times. It was clear. Zach had faith in his son and knew that he was doing all he could. All Zach could do was sit and wait.

Cammie was called to a mission on another night that Zach couldn't sleep. He tossed and turned thinking about the safety of his family. He lay in the silence until he heard a sound. It was a sniffle. He remained silent until he heard the sniff again. Someone was crying. He got out of bed and walked closer to the sound. He stopped at Jaycee's door. He slowly opened it. His heart broke as he was his daughter sitting up on her bed with a blanket wrapped around her and tears streaming down her face.

"Jaycee what's wrong?" He cried. His blonde daughter just pulled the blanket tighter around herself.

"I had a scary dream, daddy," she said softly. Zach walked to his youngest child and sat on her bed. He opened his arms and Jaycee went to him. He hugged her tightly, savoring the small moments with his last baby.

"What was it, sweetheart?" He asked. Jaycee looked her dad in the eye. Her blue eyes were lit up by the moonlight streaming through her blinds.

"Mommy died and Chase tried to save Anna and he died too," she cried. Zach's heart wrenched. She was almost 4, she shouldn't be fearing death. The saddest part of all was that Zach couldn't promise her that it wouldn't happen, especially in his line of work.

"Well, do you remember what mommy and I always say to you?" He asked her. She nodded. "Can you say it to me?"

"You say you'll always try your very hardest to come back home to us because you love us," she said. Her little voice was adorable. Zach smiled and kissed her forehead.

"That's right, sweetheart. We'll always try to come home because we love you," Zach replied. He held her until he had an idea. "Why don't you and I go on a daddy daughter date sometime? I used to do it with Anna all the time. You and I never get to spend enough time together. Do you wanna have a day where we do things just the 2 of us?" Jaycee beamed. She smiled and nodded wildly.

Zach held her close. Cammie usually comforted the kids when they had bad dreams. She always sang them back to sleep. Zach wasn't sure what to do. Jaycee started humming. Zach could have sworn he knew the song.

"What are you singing?" He asked in his curiosity. He wondered if he'd heard it on TV or on one of her kid music CD's. Jaycee yawned.

"It's the circus," she chirped. Zach nodded. Jaycee must have watched a show about the circus. Zach held his daughter. He heard the sound of her steady breathing. That was the sound that he fell asleep to.

Hours later Zach felt a nudge. "Zach," someone whispered. He groaned. "Zach." It was stronger this time.

"5 more minutes, Gallagher Girl," he murmured. He felt a kick to his leg and jolted awake. He was met with the face of his 21 year old half sister, Morgan. She was wearing all black high heel boots. Her kick hurt. He rubbed his leg.
