A month passed. Whatever this mission was, it was taking a while for them to set it up. It was early September now. I knew that mom and Joe would have to be back at school in a couple days, so tonight we decided I would go to Roseville and we would go out to eat. It was an Italian place.

"How's Zach, kiddo?" Mom asked. I had been twirling my spaghetti listening to the 2 of them talk.

"He's good, he's at an op in Jacksonville," I replied. I knew that part of the reason mom wanted to have dinner was because she knew she would be very busy soon. I knew that the other part was because she knew that I'm always a wreck when Zach leaves.

"How are you holding up?" Joe asked casually. I nodded.

"I've been better," I mumbled. I yawned. Joe and mom's eyes filled with concern.

"Tired, kiddo?" Mom asked. I nodded. "Is it the nightmares?" I sighed. Whenever Zach was gone I hardly got any sleep. If I did all I could dream about were the tombs at Blackthorne. It was the same every time. Zach and I fighting the circle and then Zach mouthing goodbye. Only, in my dreams he never lives. I just leave him to die.

"Ya, I guess," I muttered. "But even when he's been with me I've still been tired. I've been so tired for the past 3 months. I think it's a part of the sickness." Mom cocked an eyebrow.

"The sickness?" She asked. I nodded. Joe gave me a questioning look.

"I've been sick for 2 months. I always feel nauseous and a lot of the time I throw up. It's awkward to write it in the reports. Abby says there's a bug going around at the CIA, so I just quit telling Zach. He gets so worried," I replied, brushing it off. Mom nodded but looked like she wanted to say more.

After dinner she asked Joe if she could borrow me alone for a moment. Joe nodded. Mom pulled me to a private place just outside the restaurant.

"Cam, I know you said it's just a bug but stomach bugs don't last 2 months. When was the last time you had you period?" She asked. My eyes widened. Let's get something straight: I've hit my head and had my body beaten more times than I can count. I've jumped off of building and had weapons crashed into my side. A regular period? That never happened. But 3 months was really strange, even for me. I didn't have to say anything, mom already knew.

"What if I am?" I whispered. She hugged me tightly.

"That would be a blessing," she murmured into my hair. She smoothed my hair out.

"What if Zach doesn't think so?" I said. My voice was almost too quiet. Mom actually had to lean in to hear me. She just hugged me.

"Oh, but what if he does?"
I left mom and Joe. I could have gone home, DC wasn't that far after all. But I had to know. I went to every gas station and none of their tests looked even close to being accurate. All the convenient stores were closed... excepted one. I held my breath as I walked into the Abrams and Son Pharmacy.

A bell rang as I entered. It looked a tiny bit different. It was brighter, happier. I pulled my hood up.

"Welcome to Abrams and Son Pharmacy. How can I help you?" A cheery voice asked. Too cheery. I froze. I slowly pulled my hood down and turned.

She was smiling at me, she didn't recognize me. I'll admit, I had somewhat of a glow up over the years. DeeDee however, looked just how I'd imagined. She was wearing a bright pink dress. Her blonde hair looked dyed. It was longer now, but still short. She had the ultimate mom haircut. Her bright pink lipstick almost blinded me. I grabbed my box and walked to the front. I saw her face change.

"Cammie?" She whispered. I smiled.
"How are you, DeeDee?" I said. I threw on an award winning smile that would have made Madame Dabney extremely proud. Then I looked down. I saw the wedding ring, and it all made sense. That's why she was here. She looked so puzzled until she looked down at my hand and saw mine. She smiled like the Cheshire Cat.

"I'm great!" She erupted. "And you- oh Cammie you look stunning. You're married? Oh congratulations!" I smiled at my own ring. I put the box on the table and watched her eyeballs practically burst out of their sockets.

"DeeDee I'm so happy to see you. It's just, now I feel like I should make this quick," I stuttered. She nodded, reading my facials.

"He's not here," she said. I was shocked she understood. "It's just me." I nodded. She scanned the tests and I payed.

"So," I said, surprisingly not wanting to leave. "You married Josh?" She smiles even wider, if that was even possible.

"I did. And you married?" She asked. I didn't think she would know Zach until I remember that they had met.

"Zach," I said. "Maybe you remember him." The look on her face told me that she did in fact remember him. She nodded.

"Look at us. We're both married and you- well you might be pregnant," she squealed. I couldn't help but smile. "Where's Zach? Is he in the car? Do you live around here?"

"Zach's on a business trip," I replied. Technically not a lie. "We live in DC, I was just visiting my mom. I'm probably going to go home after, I just had to see." She nodded. She looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Cammie I don't want you to have to find out alone. If that's what you wish then I understand. I'm here, though. There's a bathroom in the back. If you want to find out now, I'm here," she stated. I nodded.

I was even shocked when I heard my own voice say, "then what are we waiting for?"

The 3 minutes it took to find my results were the longest minutes of my life. DeeDee and I sat at the back of the pharmacy, with the stick turned over. I was fidgeting and she was twirling her hair. When her phone timer went off she jumped. I didn't, I had been counting the seconds in my head. She looked at me wide eyed, waiting.

"Cammie?" She said after a few seconds. "Are you going to look?" I nodded.

I slowly turned over the stick. DeeDee squealed and hugged me congratulating me over and over. I paled. Only one thought went through my head. How do I tell Zach?
