Annalise Goode smoothed our her plaid skirt. She took a deep breath and made sure her collar was in place. This was it. This was the day she had been waiting for her whole life.
"Anna?" She heard her mom say. Cameron Goode walked in the room with her hands covering her mouth. She put her hands on Anna's shoulders and gave them a firm squeeze. "You look great."
Anna continued to study herself in the mirror. She was no longer just a girl anymore. She wouldn't get to spend every waking moment with her younger siblings. She would be a spy in training, just like her brother.
"Ready to go, Gallagher Girl?" Her father asked with a wink. She smiled. They got in the families car and drove to the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women. Anna stepped outside of the car and took it all in. This was her future.
"Annalise!" Her grandmother and headmistress Rachel Solomon cried. "Welcome to the Academy!" She gave her a tight squeeze. Anna smiled. Her mother turned her to look at her.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Anna? You know it would be okay to be normal, don't you?" Cammie asked. Anna's smile only grew wider. She looked at her father who was giving her his famous smirk.
"Why would I want to be ordinary in a world that's extraordinary?" Anna asked. Cammie gave her a tight squeeze.
"We'll see you once every month for Sunday night dinners," she said. She handed Anna her last bags and hugged her daughter one final time.
"Be strong," Zach whispered as he hugged her. Anna nodded and with that she turned around as her parents left. They didn't look back, but then again she didn't know because she never did. This was her destiny.

Anna unpacked her bags while Diana rambled on and on about how exciting it was that they were going to be roommates.
"This color is awful. I was thinking a baby pink. Would you like that? For comforters I think a fluffy white would be very modern. Is that a good idea? Oh and Anna who is our other roommate?" Diana rambled on and on.
"Grandma said that her name is Caroline. Her dad specializes in field work and her mom works in a lab. Her code name is sunny. Her family all has an alias. Their alias last name is Sunshine," I Anna replied, rattling off everything that her grandmother had said.
"Caroline Sunshine?" Diana scoffed. "This will be fun."
"That's the name," a tall girl with strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes said. Diana stared at her with her piercing blue eyes. She flipped her glossy black hair and made a "hmph" noise. Diana had the face of her mother, but her scrawny body and her nerdy side was completely her father's.
"I'm Annalise, this is Diana," Anna said with a smile. Caroline's smile was even larger than Anna's. Her teeth were perfectly white. She held out a hand with pink nail polish.
"Caroline!" She chirped. Anna shook her hand. "You're headmistress Solomon's granddaughter?" she nodded. "Wow, your mother is really Cammie Morgan? She's a legend." she nodded again. Anna knew that her mom was. She had a statue near Gillian Gallagher's sword. Cammie and Zach also had a stained glass portrait in the grand hall.
"Yep, Aunt Cammie stopped World War III," Diana said, slinging her arm around Anna's shoulders.
"You're cousins?"
"Sisters." Caroline nodded, but gave them a skeptical look. The girls chatted all day. Anna had a feeling that they would be good friends.
The girls slid down the banister on their way to the welcome back dinner. The girls sat at their 7th grade table. Anna watched as a girl with wavy long blonde hair got up from a table. She turned around. She had the most beautiful eyes Anna had ever seen. They were a gorgeous combination of green and blue. Annalise thought this girl was the most naturally beautiful girl she'd ever seen.
