""Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." -Genesis 2:24
Bree Morrison stood at the edge of the balcony breathing in the salty air. She choked back tears as the realization dawned on her. She should have been happy, she was getting everything she ever wanted. She was in the place of her dreams, Greece. However, it wasn't just for vacation. She was safe. However, she had to stay hidden. She was about to marry the man of her dreams. However, none of their friends and family were there to see. She sighed and retreated into her beautiful beach house.

I sat on the couch of my parents home in Washington DC. It was a boring July day. At the end of May, my parents had "grounded me for life" for fleeing the country with Peyton Newman. For any normal kids, that may sound crazy and extreme. We are far from normal. We wanted to find my brother and his fiancé, Bree. Honestly, we knew they weren't in any danger. We just wanted answers and our parents never seemed to give us any. When we got to the Amazon Rainforest, we got caught and grounded. All I wanted to do was call Peyton. Unfortunately, being "grounded for life" doesn't allow you to have a cellphone. I sighed and blew a stray piece of hair out of my face. I still don't know why it's such a big deal we left. My mom did the exact same thing when she was around my age.
I closed my eyes to daydream about Peyton. I fantasized about the kiss we shared, and seeing him in the fall when Blackthorne and Gallagher merge schools.
"Stop moping around," Dad says from the kitchen. He and mom are cooking dinner. My two youngest siblings, Riley and Jaycee, are playing in Jaycee's room.
"I have nothing better to do," I snap back.
"You could start on your summer readings," mom suggests. I roll my eyes. They are having zero sympathy for me.
I close my eyes and lean my head back on the couch again. I hear a bowl crash behind me, but I ignore it. I don't want to acknowledge my parents again. I sit in silence for approximately 36 seconds before I realized it's entirely too quiet. There are no sounds of my parents cleaning up whatever was broken. I no longer hear the laughter of my siblings. Alarmed, I stand up just as a hand clamps over my mouth and my world goes black.

I have on my wedding dress, a locally made one I picked up at the market. The bodice has jewels and pearls sewn into it. It's sleeveless, but it hugs my bust nicely. The bodice that's down to my hips then flows out into an A line cut. It's simple, but timeless. I love it, but I can't help but feel blue that I'm doing this alone. Chase has insisted we follow the traditional way, so I haven't seen him at all today. I don't understand the big deal. It's not like we're having a big white wedding. We're getting married right outside of our private beach house. I planted colorful flowers and made an arch for us to stand under. A preacher is coming over secretly and marrying us. It's simple, which is exactly what I want. Still, I can't help but yearn for his family and my friends.
I could give a damn about my family. My sister is a backstabbing, selfish agent. She couldn't care less about me. My mother and father have always spent their lives buried in their work. They haven't been present in my life before, I see no reason to for them to witness the beginning of my new life. My heart aches for the one I have always wanted to give me away, my grandfather. He has been my best friend and guardian for the majority of my life. He was killed recently by my future husband's psycho grandmother. She's also hunting me. I'm the last female descendant of Regina O'Dare, a wicked terrorist who has been long deceased. I shake my head, shaking my thoughts away. I look in the mirror and begin brushing my hair. My breathing stops as I see a figure in the mirror, standing in the doorway.
"Angel!" I cry. My future sister in law and best friend smiles at me.
"You didn't think I'd let you do this alone, did you?" She asks as I engulf her in a hug. I begin crying, grateful I didn't put on my makeup yet. "Before you say anything else, make sure you don't say a word about where we are."
"What?" I ask as I see Edward Townsend come up behind her and nod his head to me.
"Papa Ed planned this. Truth be told, we had no idea you were getting married today. Papa Ed kept it a secret so we wouldn't suspect anything. He snuck into our house and put us to sleep so that we couldn't count the seconds and figure out where we're at. We all have our suspicions, but we can't know for sure," she informs me. I tear up again and my heart swells.
"You did this?" I ask Ed. He shrugs. I wrap my arms around him and kiss him on the cheek. I swear I see him blush as a slow smile spreads to his lips.
"I just did the delivery. Your husband is the one to thank. He refused to get married without his family and your friends," he explains. Any doubt I've ever had has vanished. Chase did this for me. He loves me. I can't wait to marry him.
"There's the bride-to-be," my future mother in law, Cammie, says. I give her a huge hug and thank her for coming.
"Hey gorgeous," Adalind Newman says. Her twin sister, Amelia, follows behind her. I'm crying again as I see Diana Winters and Caroline Sunshine pile in behind. All of my best friends are here
"Hey there," Morgan Townsend says with a smile on her face. She was my former body guard. Now, she's the mother of a happy little boy and the wife to a sweet man. "You've gotta stop crying, hon. It's time to get you ready!"

We're having a real wedding now. Matthew Townsend is Chase's best man and Anna is mine. Jaycee is our flower girl and Riley is our ring bearer. I think they're both a little too old for their roles, but they both seem happy, so I'm grateful.
My hair is half up, half down with a fancy type of braid that Diana did. She also weaved flowers in my hair and my makeup looks professionally done. I look stunning, there's no doubt about it. The wedding party lines up in my doorway. I know that just past those doors, my husband is down our makeshift aisle. Anna prepares to walk down the aisle behind Matthew and my breathing stops. I'm nervous to walk down by myself. Someone clears their throat next to me. I look and see my future father in law, Zach, holding his arm out to me.
"May I?" He asks. I tear up and say yes.
I wait patiently as the others walk down the aisle. I chuckle to myself at how silly our makeshift aisle probably looks. As Jaycee exits and begins to drop her flowers, I'm an anxious mess.
"I can't believe this is happening," I tell Zach.
"Really?" He asks. "Because I saw this coming the day I met you." He grins and I smile, giving his arm a squeeze. That's exactly what I need right now. I take a deep breath.
"Showtime."
Zach pushes the door open and I step outside. I squint, immediately confused. This was not my makeshift wedding set up. In fact, there's no one in sight. All I see is the trail of flowers that Jaycee left.
"Follow the petals," Zach informs me. I shoot him a look, but he just grins. Him and I walk, arm and arm, until we near the edge of the cliff, the clear ocean now visible.
I gasp. There are chairs set up. On one side, Cammie, Morgan, Riley, and Jaycee sit while Abby holds the camera. On the other, Adalind, Amelia, Diana, and Caroline sit. The flower arch I made sits at the edge of the cliff and I can see the ocean so clearly now, the sun is setting and it's perfect. At our flower alter, Matthew and Anna are smiling back at me with Ed in the middle with a Bible. I stifle a laugh as I realize that he is going to marry us.
I stop. My eyes lock with his. Chase's eyes are watery as they hold mine. He's in a black suit and looks as handsome as ever. I can't help but shed tears as Zach gives me away and I set my hands in his. I can barely focus while Townsend speaks. I sob when Chase reads his vows. This is it. This is the moment Chase and I become infinite. Edward speaks to me. I take a breath, shut my eyes, and say the most dangerous 2 words in existence.
"I do."
