(Hey guys! Author here! I've been really busy lately. Don't worry, I should be free for a long period of time soon and hopefully I'll update. I'm having a lot of trouble thinking of filler chapters. I know all the big things that I want to happen in the series. Like at the beginning and end, but I have no idea what should come in between. It would be amazing if you guys could comment and give me ideas! Once again, huge thanks to @Anwa_333! Thank you all for reading! Stay tuned, awesome plot twist coming soon!)
"Do you have to go?" Annalise Goode asked her parents. It was safe to say that all of the girls were uneasy due to Bree's tails.
"Sorry, Ann. Riley and Jaycee would flip if we were both gone for a while again," Cameron Goode said apologetically. Anna nodded.
"Be strong," her father said as he pulled her into a tight hug. He kissed her on the forehead. Her mother hugged her too and then they were gone. Anna was alone once again. She realized that she had hugged her parents tighter. She was starting to realize that every moment could be her last.

Bree kicked. She saw the man barreling towards her. She darted out of his way.
"Save Anna!" She screamed at the boy on her right. She opened her eye wider. Chase? What was he doing here? Wait, what was she doing there? She watched Chase turn into a dark tunnel. She followed him. "Chase?"
She heard a cackling noise. Chase was there. Chase was with her! But he looked evil. She rubbed her eyes. He had an evil look on his face. His eyes were dark. He was grinning like the devil. Bree heard a loud noise behind her. Chase's eyes grew wide. He held a finger to his lips. "Shhh." Bree heard a whimper. She turned and saw Annalise lying on the ground. She was covered in blood.
"Townsend!" Bree shrieked, looking at the man with the knife. "You killed her." Townsend turned to look at her and Bree screamed. She took 3 steps back and tripped. She fell on her bottom. "Chase?" She had been so sure that the man was Townsend. It was Chase. He had killed his own sister.
Chase laughed loudly. "You're next."
"No!" Bree screamed. She kicked and thrashed. She felt strong arms wrap around her. "No! No!"
"Shhh. Bree, wake up," she heard a boy say.
"No!" She moaned and thrashed in his arms.
"Gallagher Girl it's me. Wake up. It's just a nightmare," she heard. Bree slowly opened her eyes. She gasped as she stared into the deep green eyes that had looked murderous moments before. She threw her knee up and drilled the boy in the face. "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're not very happy to see me."
Bree squinted at the boy. He grinned an 'I know something you don't' grin. She sighed. She had only been dreaming. "Chase." He tipped an imaginary hat at her. Bree had thought a lot about what it would be like when her and Chase were reunited. She thought that maybe they would be adults. Or maybe they would be fighting side by side to save Annalise. She never imagined that Chase would be laying in her bed holding her as she had a nightmare. She was suddenly very insecure of her tear soaked face.
Wait, Chase was in her room! Chase was in her bed! Chase was holding her! Bree was excited, but then she was scared. How was this happening? Bree watched Chase's eyes wander around the room. They locked on something on Bree's night stand. He picked up her pills and cocked an eyebrow at her.
"I've been having trouble sleeping lately," she explained. He nodded.
"I can tell." Chase stroked her hair. Bree shivered and Chase pulled back as if he had hurt her.
Across the room Bree's roommate Charlie moaned and rolled over. Chase grabbed Bree's hand and lead her out of the room.
They walked through the halls using the moonlight as their guide. Bree couldn't help but notice how attractive Chase looked. The moonlight was making his green eyes sparkle. She thought about how badly she yearned for him to kiss her. Chase lead her into the library and took a seat on one of the bean bags. He grabbed Bree's waist and pulled her next to him.
"What are you doing here?" Bree finally asked. Chase set his chin on her shoulder.
"I need a message to be delivered," he replied.
"What message?" Bree questioned. Chase sighed.
"It's for my sister. I was going to come here for her," he said. Bree's heart sank. Part of her wished that he had come there for her.
"Then why don't you just tell her?" Bree snapped. She didn't mean to, but she was tired and disappointed. Chase laughed.
"Do you really think that I would be able to talk to her with your sister prowling around? What's the matter? Jealous?" He asked. Bree was jealous, but she wasn't about to tell him that. "She really doesn't look a bit like you. Same eyes is all." Bree nodded. She knew.
"How long do you have?" Bree asked as she turned her head to look at him. In that moment that was the only question that mattered. Bree watched his face fall.
"Not long," he whispered.
"How did you sneak out of Blackthorne?"
"Someone is full of questions I see."
"Chase!"
"It wasn't easy, but Daniel and Tanner are actually really smart. I'm on a tight time crunch. We made it work. It's just really risky," Chase admitted. Bree nodded. Bree noticed that Chase looked different. She noticed it all along, she just couldn't place it. Looking at him in the moonlight at that second made her realize what it was. Chase was scared.
"What is it?" She asked. Concern fell over her face.
"Maybe I should just wait for a time when I can speak to Anna," he said.
"What is it!" Bree shouted. Chase put a finger to her lips. She could have woken someone up. Bree was angry. She was finally waking up and remembering that someone had been tailing her. Maybe Chase was involved. Bree wanted answers. He sighed.
"Things are changing at Blackthorne. We've all noticed it ever since we got back. Before we were trained a certain way. It wasn't easy. It was awful. But at least then it was like we had a choice on what we could be. Spy, field worker, lab worker, or... or... Or something else. Now it's like we have to be that something else. They're pushing us so much harder. We don't have a choice anymore. It's getting difficult," Chase told her.
"What are they forcing you to be?" Bree asked softly. Chase give her a stricken look. She knew that he wouldn't tell her. "Chase!" Bree was pleading. She grabbed his arm and complained. "Can't you be honest with me for like 5 seconds? Why can't you just tell me the truth?"
"Because there are some things that you don't want to know!" He snapped. His voice softened. "Not knowing can be bliss."
"So you came here to tell Anna that your school is changing?" Bree asked. Chase chuckled. Something in the tone told Bree that he didn't think this was funny, but that he knew something that she didn't.
"It will mean a lot to her. She'll understand," he replied. Bree nodded. Her mind floated back to where it had been all night. She leaned into him. She closed her eyes as he played with her hair.
"Chase?"
"Hmm?"
"Are you hiring people to tail me? Were you the one that sent the people to the farm to take pictures of me in Kansas? Did you send Blackthorne boys to watch me the other day in town?" Bree blurted. Chase stopped playing with her hair. He stiffened.
"What?" He asked, his voice hard as rocks. He searched her face for a sign that she was lying. She wasn't. A look of pure terror crossed Chase's face. Bree got scared. "Gallagher Girl listen to me. There is something you need to know. I don't think headmaster Marcus is in charge of Blackthorne anymore. I think it's someone else. Bree I think they know. You have to-"
Chase was cut off by the voice. "Bree? What the hell are you doing up?" Bree turned to see Kira turning on a light. Bree got scared. She was screwed. Chase and her were so busted. But that was when Bree noticed that the boy next to her was gone. He had disappeared. And he had taken his answers with him.
The next morning Bree woke up very confused. She didn't remember Kira bringing her back to bed. She looked down at her covers. Nothing indicated that she had left her bed last night. Did she dream? She sighed. She had been having a lot of dreams about Chase.
She walked to the bay window in their suite and sat down. That was when she noticed a strategically placed note. She gasped.Tell Anna the school is changing. Don't know how much longer I can do it.

Bree shivered. Maybe a ghost of Chase had come to visit her. Then Bree was filled with hope. Maybe Chase had come to her school. Maybe their encounter the night before had actually happened. Then Bree looked to the library and realized that there was no bean bag chair and she thought that perhaps it was just a dream of what could have been.
